Applebee’s

I gave it 2 stars because I feel bad. This place has to be the worst Applebee’s in America how are they even open. Servers don’t care, managers no where to be seen. And the food well worse than the service. I don’t know why I even went back guess it’s my fault. I think they mean well it just needs an intervention.

Dined in after deciding not to take it to go. We were aat fairly quickly on a Friday night for dinner. Couple reasons why it lost out on more stars. Our waiter seemed to be doubling as a bus boy. We got our appetizers before the drinks even came. Waited for 15 minutes for the drinks. We ordered mozerella sticks which were pretty good. Pretty Surprised the appetizers came out before the drinks did. I was fairly thirsty so I ended up finishing my drink — he didn’t check up on us once. Another group came in and he started chatting with them for a long while. food was great. got double crunch shrimp and 3 cheese chicken penne which they gladly changed the chicken to shrimp per our request. Our waiter didn’t check up on us once without me waiving him to come over. I have a tendancy to move any unused plate or cup to the edge of the table as a courtesy instead of having them ask to «get this outta your way» with an awkward reach over. So i moved it to the edge for anyone to easily scoop by on their way but all of the unused. Even when we politely asked for refills he’d chat with the other table for good while only to finish our food without any drinks. We still left 15% tip… Because it could’ve been an off day but he certainatly did not earn it tonight.

I made a Carside To Go order today. I arrived 5 minutes before my order was supposed to be ready and then waited in my car for 15 minutes for someone to actually acknowledge me, at which point I unpacked my toddler and went inside to inquire. After waiting a few minutes inside (where only a few tables had customers), I had to search for someone I could talk to. That person asked my name and then disappeared. I ended up talking to three more people in an attempt to pick up my «Carside» order (you know, where you’re not supposed to have to leave your car). After an additional 15 minutes, almost a half hour after my order was supposed to be ready, I finally got my food, and that was only after an employee asked me what I had ordered. At no point were any apologies made by any staff member I spoke with.
By the time I unpacked the food at my destination, not 10 minutes down the road, it was clear that it had been sitting around for quite awhile. While the flavor was good for all the entrees that were ordered, despite the food being cold, I have to remove stars due to the complete lack of service.

Great food, atrocious service, dirty restaurant. Second visit to this restaurant and I was not impressed. Food is tasty, well prepared, and hot. Service was slow and inattentive. Bathroom was very dirty, and the restaurant floor has lots of scraps of paper and trash on it. We honestly felt ignored by our server.

I haven’t eaten Applebee’s in years and this visit reminded me why. We walked in around 10pm on a week night and no one was at the host both– no worries my brother and I were sitting at the bar anyway. We found a place and had a seat. This Applebees had a few patrons– guess due to the cheap food prices, cheap alky prices, and a football game on multiple screens drew this crowd. We asked our waiter for a menu and the night’s specials before we ordered. The thing that drove me up the wall the whole night was the bartender kept scratching himself then he made drinks– not once did I see him wash his hands. I asked him for a lemon drop shooter and he proceeded to scratch his head and his body then make my drink. I was freaked out from then on! When I received my shooter it tasted water down and nasty. Yea I’m not sure why I proceeded to taste it after watching him scratch but I prayed and tried to stay calm. When we told him it didn’t taste good he seemed to get upset and we just replaced it with a beer. My brother ordered an all day burger and I ordered some wings. A different server brought our food to the bar thank goodness. My brother’s burger was ok but my wings didn’t sit right. Everything was priced really cheap but the things I noticed turned me all the way off from ever coming back again— to any Applebees.

I used to work at an Applebee’s in a different state while in college. I came to this one yesterday after not having been to an Applebee’s in years, and it was not a pleasant experience. I ordered a sirloin with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes to go. Going into the restaurant, no one greeted me — and this was dinner time on Sunday. I eventually decided to go to the bar. The bar area was rather dirty. The bartender wasn’t particularly welcoming. No smiles on any of the staff’s faces.
I paid, he went and got the food & handed it to me — but immediately started talking to someone else before the bag was even out of his hand; no goodbye, have a good day, etc. The steak itself was terrible; it was cooked to the right temperature, but the taste was mostly charcoal. Mashed potatoes were pretty good. To be fair, I’m not looking for steakhouse quality steak at Applebee’s… but this was just outright terrible. Compared to the Applebee’s I’m used to, this was like a completely different restaurant for cleanliness, customer service, and taste.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. We were seated immediately and got our drinks quickly but it took over 30 minutes just for the appetizer and it was stone cold. We always went to Applebee’s about once or twice a week when we lived in Virginia Beach. It was vary disappointing and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

After not trying Applebee’s for a couple years, I decided to take my family out for dinner and give it a go. Well that was a terrible decision on my part. We got sat almost immediately and the host was very nice to us and seated us in a pretty good location. We had Jose for a server, and there was a lot of hospitality to be lacked. Not only was Jose not punctual at all when it came to getting our drinks ordered, but we ended up waiting almost 30 minutes to get our spinach and artichoke dip out to us. We asked the host for our check for the drinks we got, and Jose proceeded to rush back to the kitchen to grab our appetizer, which must have been sitting for a while considering he was very quick to come out to us with it. We politely asked Jose for our check and he went into the back to get it for us. Instead of a manager coming out and telling us that our drinks were on the house, Jose came out and informed us of that himself. If a manager would have come out to inform us of our check being on the house and to offer a sincere apology and/​or a reason that Jose was unable to assist us properly, my mind would most likely be in a different place.
We were incredibly displeased with our experience and will not be suggesting this restaurant for anyone else to dine at. It’s amazing how after not coming to this restaurant for two years because of instances just like this one, it happens again just like clockwork! I’m surprised the cumulative Unilocal score is high enough to be considered a 2 star.

Really slow service, and the waiter asked for us to write down our credit card information because the «system is down.» The manager was «too busy» to come talk to us, but eventually we caused so many complaints he gave us the food for free. The appetizers were really slow in coming and overall just a negative experience. Go to TGI instead.

It seems as though EVERY Applebee’s within a 50 mile radius has a bad rating. This one is no exception. We hadn’t been to Applebee’s in a few years and wanted try the new All-​In Burgers. We did and they were fabulous! Perfectly cooked and seasoned and not a difficult-​to-​eat 6″ thick monstrosity like some of the very expensive «boutique» burger joints. The fries (spud and sweet varieties) were very good. The kids menu had a good selection to include mozzarella sticks as a side. A win for my boys.
However, the bad review is for the poor service. Our waitress was very rude when two orders came out incorrectly. She brought back one corrected plate but when I pointed out that the other was still wrong, SHE COPPED AN ATTITUDE! Excuse me, Miss Y, but you got the order wrong and you give me attitude? Screw that, we won’t be back.
Such a shame because the food was actually very good.

Where to start… The only reason we went was because kids eat free this weekend…
The waitress took my kids order and then immediately left the table. I looked at my mom in confusion. She came back about 7 minutes later to take our orders. Within 5 minutes my kids good came out. With disgust I asked to speak to a manager.
The manager came over and informed me that they always bring the kids meals out first because «it calms the children». If I didn’t want to eat with my kids we would have gone to a drive thru… Just saying! His solution was he would get our food out as soon as possible.
About 10 minutes later our food was brought out. I ordered the Green Goddess Salad Wedge, which was good but came out about 5 minutes before my meal… So I didn’t have time to finish before my meal arrived. I had the Fish and Chips. The fish was good, but not worth $ 14! Not even close!
My mom had a pulled pork sandwhich, which didn’t have much pork, was good but disappointing at the same time. We opted to skip dessert.
Needless to say, we will not be going back to Applebee’s. When I done out, I like to eat with my kids, not 20 minutes later. And the fact that nothing was said, if I had known, I could have asked to have it all brought out together.
Our waitress was not very friendly, and seemed to be upset when we asked to see a manager…

Applebees… what a disappointment it was not a good experience. We came in around 4 and were promptly seated. About 10 minutes later our waiter came by to take our drink and food orders Our drinks showed up (Iced Tea) with the ice already diluting so much that we were compelled to ask for ice on the side.
It took about 15 minutes for our food to arrive. Come on the place was like a ghost town!
I got the steak fajitas that were terribly spicy. I did not ask for a replacement due to timer constraints. They did not serve guacamole). I was told it was no longer available. The old man got a dinner salad. He said it was OK. After the food was delivered, our server disappeared leaving us with empty iced tea glasses and a parched mouth. I
If you like bargain’s they have a happy hour with $ 3.00 appetizers. Unfortunately we did not know about them. The server didn’t mention them either.
Applebees could certainly improve on customer service.
Hey APPLEBEES is a chain. They could have done better but didn’t. This was certainly not the best experience.

Came in on a Friday night with my husband and brother in law. They were offering specials on fajitas and $ 2 Dos Equis bottles.
We sat at the bar, which wasn’t overly crowded, so we had a view of the tv’s to watch several of the baseball games.
Applebee’s, and no exception to this location, is really your average neighborhood spot. We came in search of a few cold beers and sports, nothing more and nothing less and we were pleased by all means.
Our bartender was efficient and as I watched him attend to other guests I clearly got the impression that he’s the reason they were there.
Overall if anyone has something negative to say it’s probably because they had a bad day. Thanks so much.

Came to this Applebee’s for an early dinner. Food was okay but not worth the price I paid. We got two different types of burgers. They were on served on plates that were large making the dinner look small. Burgers were okay. But looked like they were under heat lamps for a long period. The Shrimp linguine wasn’t great and there was a lot of water in the bowl.
Service was good. Waiter made sure our drinks were filled and we saw the manager make his way around to the tables to speak to the patrons.
Food needs improvement. Unfortunately I will not be returning. Not impressed.

When I walked in the first thing I noticed was trash on the floor in front of the host stand. It was still there when I left despite the fact they were slow and had plenty of time to pick it up, just chose to stand around talking instead.
The service at the bar was also a bit slow, the bartender kept disappearing for a few minutes at a time. They messed up the order, but by then it was not worth mentioning. I had a salad to start which tasted like it had been stuck in a fridge all day, not really that great.
The entrée I had was actually decent, a healthy steak option. Despite that the rest of the experience was kind of bad. It is really bad management, all of the problems I saw here, trash on the floor, poor and slow service, would not happen with a good management staff.
I guess you get what you pay for.

Food is so-​so. Not anything special. Over buttered and greasy. My steak was not fresh. Most likely straight out of the freezer. Order came wrong and when the waiter was bringing the new plate back to the table he stopped to chat with someone else for a couple of minutes with my plate on his hands.
No coke. Only Pepsi products. –1 star for this.
And if you decide to go to the bathroom you will not continue your food. The bathrooms are nasty. I have been in a portapotty that was cleaner.
I am not coming here again.

So my wife and I haven’t been to an Applebee’s in a long time, simply because our past experiences haven’t been that good. However, we said to ourselves that this time might be different because it’s been so long that things should be better.
In comparing this experience with our previous experiences I will say that this experience was better, but at best it was average. The service was fine but the food was just meh :/​. We ordered:
Appetizer — Spinach artichoke dip
Wife — Shrimp Linguini
Me — Grilled chicken alfredo
The spinache artichoke dip was okay but I’ve haf better. Although our entrees looked enticing, I’m sorry to report that the taste of the food didn’t really match up with the looks of the entrees. My wife told me that her shrimp linguini was nothing special and I told her that my grilled chicken alfredo was bland and wasn’t anything special either.
Overall we weren’t really impressed with our meals here at this Applebee’s so it will most likely be a while before my wife and i decide to come back.

I mainly go to Applebees for drinks but every now and then i will get food, the food is OK but i admit that is has gotten better over the years and the prices are reasonable, something that I like about this location is the Bartender Tony and the Manager Kat, Tony is cool and interactive so for me thats a plus and Kat is a really nice person and it looks like the staff likes to work with her

1.5 stars… ½ star for the amount of salad that came with the 2 for $ 20 menu.
Otherwise, this place is definitely a «Eek! Methinks not». We were unable to dine anywhere else on Cinco de Mayo, due to every Tex-​Mex spot in Sterling being an hour plus wait. When we called in to ask for Applebee’s wait, they replied «There is none…» NOW I KNOW WHY.
There were a few other tables in there for dinner on that Monday night, but it was not packed by any restaurant standards. The bar was barely full, and my friends wanted a place to watch the Wizards game.
The service was SO BAD. Our group of 10 or so ordered drinks; water came 40 minutes after we sat down. My friends’ alcoholic beverages came 30 minutes later. I had to tell them to take our food order when they took our alcoholic drink order after the water came, just to ensure I wouldn’t be there for 6 hours…
We were starving, our appetizers came out almost an hour later. The salad size was good, and the greens weren’t wilted. However, the food took forever. I’m pretty sure we waited an hour and a half or so, and each dish came out one-​by-​one, making us guess if there was only one Chef in the kitchen…
To make things worse, my steak was ordered «medium» and it was way past well done… No pink or red inside whatsoever. A sad and drab gray and SUPER tough steak. Hard to chew. I don’t expect 5-​star quality at Applebee’s, but I wish they could at least cook it to the right temperature.
Ribs were covered in a weird sauce that had dried up, the fries were pitiful. My friend’s shrimp in her pasta was still translucent.
I would not return here, the service is slow as anything, I wanted to trash the food, and when we needed to order more water or drinks, our server was just at the front cash register busy counting money instead of checking on us.
