Had the coney dog and fries. Pretty good and the portions was more then enough. As for coneys the price is pretty good. $ 8 for 2coneys, fries, and a pop.

I really like this place. It close to work and the food is good. My one complaint would be the Chilli Cheese fries. They were a little soggy like they were under cooked. I get that the fries that had the chilli and cheese would be soggy but the pieces that didn’t were soft and undercooked. Next, time I’ll asked for the fries to be well done.

This is one of those kind of coney islands where everything you touch is sticky, EVERYTHING. Our table wasn’t clean, our waitress was rude. Won’t come back

Being from Metro Detroit and having been a fan of Coney Islands my whole life I was surprised at how disappointing this location was. The best thing on the menu are the pictures. Period. I got nachos that were on a «hot plate» but the plate was stone cold as was my food. My friend got the blueberry pancakes which were dry and also cold. There were maybe two other people in the place and our server wasn’t in a hurry to get to any of us. The manager saw that I didn’t eat my food and instead of taking it off the bill he gave me a coupon for a dollar off my bill that I could use now or the next time I came in. I used it right away since I knew I’d never be going back. Bad service, worse food.

I use to come here in my teenage years with the fellas, I get to this national Coney island every once in a blue moon. Wife and I came in and got our Hanni fix with some chili cheese fries, their were great, I ordered heavy chili on the fries and they came Thur with that special request. Service was right on and the manager even hooked us up with a couple of $ 1 off our total food bill coupons, «Nice« I admit we noticed that the place needs a little wipe down on the walls, Ketchup stains and splatter here and there, but other then that it good place for a Hanni fix.

Hard to believe there ‘was’ a NCI, that I had not been into yet. until 1−22−13. As I always forget about this one at 13& Dequindre until I see it. Had a desire for a Gyro omelet, as I needed a protein burst, as my next stop was the gym. Everyone here was truly a regular, except me, as the mgr. & servers greeted everyone by name . My server Kari, was super outgoing & efficient, even carried my coat & scarf to another booth for me. 3 stars 1] because the omelet was NOT as moist as 696 /Gratiot, is was on the well done side 2] the greenhouse seating area, was absolute outdated & the ceiling was in need of a make over 3] Kari 5 stars &20% for sure

I can’t vouch for the Coney Islands here. I was bought here by my friends in Detroit specifically for dessert. More specifically, for a Sanders fudge ice cream puff. I had never had had Sanders fudge before and this needed to be rectified. We had finished an ambitious dinner at Trizest just a few feet down and we needed dessert immediately and within walking distance. This place met the minimal criteria. This place is part dive and part run-down diner. After begging with the waitress who was trying to close shop, we were able to stay to order dessert. This dessert was pretty excellent. I can finally see what the big deal is. As for our time at National Coney Island, our waitress heard my friends debating between American vs. Lafayette Coney Island. She stated her American allegiance. Shortly after, the place slowly shut down, suggesting we should go soon. Perh

20 dollars plus for 2 people to eat a Hani that had 4 bites without chicken. I’m more sad then pissed, even after talking with the Manager Paul, who also manged the NCI on Van Dyke, these are the new portions. I told Paul, its a shame, and we wont be back!!! Get your act together guys, or you wont be around much longer!

Love national coney island for 2 reasons. First the best dang veggie burger you can buy, made exactly how you want it. Second chilli fries, with not a drop of meat! Yes that’s right their chili is MEATLESS. Not that you could ever tell, it’s taste, texture, and smell all say MEAT to your brain and tastebuds, but it’s not. It’s a textured soy product, that is oh so convincing. What does this mean?! Well it means it is healthier then plain olé chili from somewhere else, it reheats better, is more consistently good, and if you are a vegetarian, or just don’t eat beef(like me) it is an amazing meal!

Breakfast for 3 for $ 20 — can’t find that on the West Coast. Nice greasy spoon chain. Good place to enjoy a weak cup of coffee on an icy December morning. Service with a smile. Too bad its non smoking — that would really bring back the memories of better times in the DTW.
