Ordered here for the first time this past weekend. My husband picked it up and said the inside was very old school but who cares about that as long as the pizza is good. I ordered the New York thin with spicy pepperoni. The pizza was a little over cooked, the edge of the crust was a tad charred and some of the pepperoni’s had some char. These are the old fashioned pepperoni’s that curl up when cooked which I like better than reg pepperoni. It had a good spice to it but not overly spicy. I liked the thinnest of the New York style crust. I’m a St. Louis gal and used to eating very thin crust. The cheese sticks are pretty good too, way better than jets. These are loaded with cheese. The prices here are very good too. I’d give this place a try again just hopefully the pizza isn’t as over done this time.

Just moved to the area and I had my eye on this place as I would drive back and forth with moving things and working on the house. The name was a bit strange but it does catch on. I stopped in one day while painting and stated chatting up the manager and really cool fella and personable. He shared all the menu items. I love me some pizza and I shared with him I an expert in pizza. He put this place up against anyone so I had to order the pizza and some ribs for me and the workers at the house. Freaking SOLID Za and the ribs are on point and I am a new fan and soon to be long time customer.

Walked in and ordered a carry out. Decided to try 2 smalls, one Sicilian style with pepperoni and the other hand-tossed round Margherita Za which I also specified well done.(had to many pizzas in my life with soggy feta) The result… hands down amazing! Perfectly cooked and every topping tasted very fresh. It is so hard to find a pizza place that can cook feta cheese properly on a pizza. I cannot wait to try their other menu items.

Got to get the cheese stix! They are the best around. Excellent tasting pizza sauce to dip them in as well! Would recommend this pizza to any pizza lover!

I’ve always disliked the owner of this place. The man is not friendly at all, rude and just gives off a bad vibe. When I was younger he offered me and a couple buddy’s a job to pass out his flyers in the heart of the summer. Being in 8th grade we were excited to earn some cash for the summer. Although, we forgot to ask what the pay would be. He have use a huge stack of flyers and told us to return when they were all gone. It took us a good day or so to rubberband them to the surrounding subdivisions front doors. When we returned the owner told us he would be paying us 3 dollars an hour for five hours of work when we told him we were out for longer than five hours he ignored it and told us to be happy with the pay he was giving us… 3 bucks an hour is insulting wether your an. 8 the grade student or not. The man is just an extremely cheap and rude individual. That being said the pizza is average and service is fair. I would recommend the cheese sticks and that about all id recommend for this place.

Very good pizza! Good sauce and the cheese seems better here than most. Breadsticks and salad are very good as well, prices are reasonable as well. Read complaints about inside décor… Really? It’s a walk in pizza place! Has a counter, a register, cool for Pepsi products, couple of tables. I was neither disgusted nor excited about the décor, I was just hungry and wanted to try a new pizza place. Staff was neither rude nor nice, I guess it’s possible if they were a little more over the top happy the food would have been better but who knows?! Bottom line, if you want good affordable pizza, this is a good place. If you’re looking for nice décor and a back massage from the staff go somewhere else.

When you think family owned this is what should pop into you head, owners are great people! Always above and beyond in service. Makes the pies that much better. Great cheese and the spicy pepperoni, I’m a regular that stops In for slices which they usually always have, if not they will throw in a pie and have you slices within minutes! I drive out of my way on family pizza night to support these guys!

Great Pizza @ Great prices. I did not deal w/Jason or Jim, but a gentleman by the name of Pat. I had a great experience. I was throwing a party for children(which I have none) & their parents. Pat helped be determine how much pizza I should get, and what varieties, suggesting that children are often picky, etc. Well, I almost didn’t have enough pizza, because the parents(and some of the children, but they were more for cake than anything) went ape sh%t for the spicey pepperoni(the little pepperoni that form grease cups after cooking)! Needless to say, the pizza was a hit with everyone, and I will now consider My Pizza Place, as «MY» pizza place, and put them in the cell phone, and take out J3ts. I’ve had 3 parents ask me specifically where I got the pizza, and whom will make it a point to order from here when in the area. As for the décor, it’s a pizza counter w/some seats if you want to order and wait. Maybe they were trying to go for the retro look. Who knows, and who cares. The joint is clean, the pizza phe-nom, and the staff friendly & helpful. Keep slinging pies, and I’ll keep buying them.

Jason always provides me a GREATPIE& Super Friendly service! So yesterday when I needed a 24 slice tray, I called ‘My Pizza Place’ so glad that I did, as he had a 24 or 30 slice tray for $ 19.99 plus tax, and instead of placing it in one of those mega boxes that wont fit on any counter or stove, Jason wisely placed it in 2 separate boxes with 15 squares in each! We ordered the party tray at 3pm for a 5:45 pick up and it was ‘Hot & Ready“ with plenty of Sauce, Cheese & Pepperoni so your thinking, Ron if it was so good, why not 5 stars? logical question I prefer My Pizza Place to all of the Jets. Little Squeezers, and the 40 other chains in a 5 mile radius, as it is good to feed the gang /crowd 5 Star pizza is Louie’s in Hazel Park Cloverleaf & The Original Buddy’s on Conant

Location/Parking: 15 and Dodge Park near the 7 – 11 Pricing: Very reasonable especially Cleanliness: The place is a hole in the wall and not really super-clean…it’s just old. Service Quality: It’s a takeout place so they don’t have the time to cater to you… order, get in and get out. Jim, the owner, usually shoots the shit with everyone and is pretty cool to talk with. Ambience/Atmosphere: The place has the same décor as it had back in the 70s Crowd: Pretty much neighborhood locals The food: Great pizzas but the best item Jim has is his cheese sticks. Whenever I come home I always make a habit of stopping there and ordering them. They are amazingly good. His pizzas are above average, especially the party trays. Jim makes the best party trays I have ever had. He does have other items besides pizza, but his pies are what you go there for really.

I think My Pizza Place has the best pizza in the Sterling Heights/Troy area. Yes the décor leave a little to be desired, but you should go there for the ambiance go there for the food. If you want bright brand new décor and design go get a shit pizza at Little Caesers or Hungry Howies. You can’t really beat the price, $ 5.95 for a large with one topping, unless you go get a Hot & Ready. Best topping hands down is the spicy pepperoni, which is different from regular pepperoni. Spicy pepperoni is the old school small and thick cut pepperoni that curls up when cooking and gather all the yummy pepperoni grease. The jalapeño sticks are a favorite of mine, as well as the meatballs. The ranch is fantastic, not prepackaged like the chain pizzerias. And if you like Hungry Howies flavored crust, My Pizza Place also does that. They also have cheap delivery at $ 1.47, where as place like Hungry Howies charge more than $ 2.75 to get anything delivered. My Pizza Place is the only pizza I order when Im at home.

Janelle is right. The guy who owns this place is just downright mean. I’ve gone in here a couple times for slices, since the deep-dish ones aren’t bad(Yes, some people do enjoy Detroit-style deep dish pizza very much!). But on my last visit his tone was so rude that I just walked out and decided never to return. The pizza at My Pizza Place isn’t amazing. Its average. They offer round and square pies with average sauce, cheese, and toppings. It’s not better or worse than similar pizzerias in the northern suburbs. Some of the specials are decent, but I just can’t stand rude and mean proprietors. It’s makes me wonder why they guy’s even in the business at all. There has to be better options in the area.
