A nice alternative if having a sub craving as there are several options in the immediate area. A good amount of protein on the sandwich is standard. Cheese is melted nicely. A large selection of hot sauces from very mild to very hot are available to add some spice if you want. Ability to view your sandwich being prepared while also being able to customize your sandwich would have been nice — but isn’t an option here.

I work right next to this place, everyday you can smell all that good food, they have a wide variety of cold and hot subs, they also have salads and offer chili, the chili is good, but does not have cheese in it, anyway, its a bit pricey but you get a good amount of food

Stopped in this past Sunday to get my 87 year old Mom a sub. She LOVES sandwiches but has a hard time eating because of no teeth. Got her the brisket and cheddar knowing how wonderfully soft it is having had one myself on ‘my side’ of town – downriver. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. Quite disappointing since my store the staff are always cheerful. They were not overly busy. One ahead of me and three behind me. I do love the atmosphere. I took in all the photographs while waiting for my name to be called. Grandma loved the sub. She said it was one of the best she’s ever had. Since she only eats a tiny bit these days I can agree since I ate the other half. While they tend to be a bit expensive $ 10 for the medium with chips and a drink, the ingredients are quality.

One step above subway, and that’s not saying much because subway blows. First time there and nobody was in there, was trying to look over the menu to order and I felt so rushed. Finally received my sub, wish I would have never tried this place. All these new sub chains and the majority of them stink. Stop the stupid gimmicks and corny commercials and just give me a quality product.

I had been craving a sub for a few days and was out and about near Lakeside, so I decided to finally try Firehouse Subs. The girls at the counter were out cleaning and seemed a bit confused about who was waiting on me, but after about 5 minutes they figured it out. That gave me a chance to check out the menu. I ordered a club sub, and the girl pointed at a side of a spinning display that had«standard» toppings on it and asked«Is this OK?» I was a bit confused by that, but figured it out in a minute. I wish she would have indicated the other side so I knew what else was optional. After that exchange, they make your sub behind the counter where you can’t see it or ask for any adds/minuses. I guess I’m used to that at many other sub places. They do bring your sub out to you in a basket with a tasty dill pickle spear. The sub was OK. The bread was good, they melt the cheese in one of their dozen steamers. I didn’t care for the ham — it was much too sweet and threw off the whole sub’s taste. I might try something else there, but it seems like a lot of their subs on a fairly small menu have that ham on them. They have round sandwiches, too, but none of those caught my eye. They do have a ton of hot sauces, but I’m not sure that I’d want to put a bunch of hot sauce on my sub when peppers do the same thing to some extent.

We had never tried Firehouse before and decided to try something different. My wife, my son, and myself each ordered a sub. We had the Italian, the Firehouse Steak and Cheese, and Firehouse meatball subs. My son said his meatball sub was really good, I never tried it. My wife and I split the other two subs. I thought the Italian was pretty good. I ordered it without the mayo and mustard those because, as an Italian, sorry but those two things do not belong anywhere near an Italian sub. The dressing was a little sweet for our liking. So if we ordered it again, I would get it without the dressing and just add my own at home. The steak and cheese, however, I didn’t care for. The meat was almost mushy? I don’t know if it was because it is wrapped and steams up during the delivery, or if it is just the type of meat they used. I will say that it was nice of them to deliver it for us because they do not usually deliver for less than 4 sandwiches, but since they were a little slow, they were nice and delivered it for us. If you pay with a credit or debit card, however, there is no way to include a tip. Something that seemed odd for a place that delivers. I ended up giving the driver a decent tip because he did get here pretty fast. Overall, I can’t give it five stars. Better than Jimmy John’s though. My suggestions would be to use a non-sweet Italian dressing, and try a different kind of steak for steak and cheese. Sometimes, just adding salt can really help improve the flavor a bit too on the steak.

Not a bad first experience. I had the bumber 10 on the menu, i think it was just beef brisket and cheddar. Not my usual kind of sandwich but I was feeling a little adventuous. In will be back to try something else. P. s. get someting besides chips, cookies and brownies! Boring.

I tried the pulled pork sandwich which is available for a limited time. It has pulled pork, pepper jack cheese and coleslaw on a Hawaiian bun. It was delicious! The sandwich itself is huge. It’s a bit messy because it’s over flowing with all of those fillings! I’d recommend this to anyone trying to decide what to order. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it’s a bit pricey compared to other sub places. For the sandwich with pickle, drink and chips it came to about $ 10. But because it was so delicious, I will go back again and I would recommend it.

I was nervous going in that they wouldn’t have anything healthy or with veggies. Well their chopped salad was nice and it was huge! A great value and really friendly staff. I got my food quickly and it tasted good!

Was always skeptical about trying this place out… The subs just looked like any normal party store sub. I was wrong! Got the Italian and it was great! Had a taste to it that no other sub place could compare to. I would recommend trying it out. I’ll be back for sure!

Good stuff right here, man. So far, I have tried the NY Steamer, the Italian, and the Hero. They were all great. The subs are choke-full of delicious goodness. They steam-heat their subs. I think the process unleashes the true flavor of each ingredient. Whatever the case, they make a savory sandwich. I like that you can customize your sandwich with things like pickles, peppers, olives, vinegar and oil, etc. I also like that they have a full staff of people working. Therefore, the kid who was just cleaning tables and handling money isn’t the person making your sandwich. Finally, the restaurant is very clean.

The beef brisket sub here was fabulous. Price was reasonable, service fast and friendly. Very clean inside and warm atmosphere.

The subs are OK. It’s better than subway, but they’re not the best. It’s OK for a franchise though. I ordered two sandwiches. One was a special order which they got correct. However, they messed up the regular sub because of it. They were not accommodating or helpful in fixing their problem. They really turned it into an ordeal. Ultimately, there are plenty of other places to go with better or just as good subs and a friendlier attitude towards their customers. I probably won’t be returning to this location.

The subs are exquisite. The firehouse theme is delightful. You can round up your order total to the nearest dollar and all proceeds are given to the local fire department. That change definitely adds up. Great food and helping the community? 5 stars no doubt!

I finally tried this place after seeing it all of the time. The restaurant is definitely firehouse themed in color and accessories. Kind of cool, but a bit jarring with all of the bright red. I got a the standard Hook and Ladder. It’s virginia ham, turkey breast, and melted colby jack. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard, and a pickle, but I opted no onion or mayo. The bun was a decent side and tasted pretty good. The lunchmeat was a little bit salty to my taste, but overall tasted fairly fresh and not overly processed. The condiments were good and as ordered. I’m not blown away, and for the simple sandwich I like I think I’d rather have Jimmy Johns due to the fact that it’s cheaper and has more veggies. It does seem like they have some more complex sandwiches on the menu, so maybe that’s where they shine. I’d go back, but I won’t go out of my way for it.

Stopped in for a couple of sandwiches on the way home from work. Firehouse comes through every time. Friendly greeting when you walk in, and fast service without the unnecessary banter that you experience at that other sub place.

Finally tried this place out on a Saturday afternoon after wanting to try it for a while. The inside is composed of red and white. A lot of red, actually. It IS called Firehouse. There are random fire jackets hanging on the walls, and there are three TV’s in the place(which play weird stuff, mind you. One TV had on an infomercial while another had Forensic Files on. Yes, I love watching people talk about dead bodies and homicides while I eat). The parking lot is small, too. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch sub. It had turkey(obviously), bacon(obvious again), lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, cheddar cheese, mayo, and a ranch peppercorn sauce. It looked nice when it was brought to our table, albeit it was like a 10-minute wait. It’s not Jimmy John’s fast, I will say that much. The sub was good. The ingredients tasted fresh, the turkey was pretty good for a sub place, and the melted cheese was melted just enough. I also had the cheddar broccoli soup, which was pretty good but a little too soupy for my tastes. I like my soup like they make it at Panera or Piada. I’m glad I finally tried it, but the hype didn’t match the quality. When it comes to subs, I would eat Quizno’s over Firehouse probably nine times out of ten, just out of sheer taste. It’s just better overall. Firehouse isn’t great and it’s not bad. It’s a good sub and that’s that.

I came in around 10:06 Tuesday Morning, was greeted by the whole crew & warmly greeted by Cheryl the crew leader. I only came in for a gift card for a pal, BUT the aroma overtook my judgement, and I decided the 32 ounce water & protein shake in the car would have to sit tight. I ordered the NY Steamer Corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing. + Fully involved which was lettuce, tomato, olives, pickles & both peppers Per request they wrapped each half separately, so I could look forward to half later for dinner. + also they were kind enough to provide a separately wrapped pickle for each half! Ive tried many of there sauces & love the Hank Williams & Elvis sauces„ which I had today & tried one I had not ever seen before **Datil Pepper Hot Sauce It is my new favorite sauce, not overpowering. a slow rolling heat that catches up to you later on, as my forehead broke out in sweat beads. Would be 5 stars if : 1)the manager/Cheryl knew how to register/activate a giftcard. 2) if the staff of 3 – 4 behind the counter, having just opened, would be sure the mini-solo cups for sauces were stocked 3 cups & only 1 lid?

This place is right by my work — I stopped on my lunch break just for the sake of trying something new. As a vegetarian I only had 1 option for a sandwich, which is expected at most places. Firehouse was busy, but not overwhelming — lots of families sitting down, atmosphere was friendly. I can tell a lot of thought went into the restaurant, from the décor, sauces, ordering process, and ability to give to charity. My veggie sub was just a sub. It was done well, but there was nothing different. Most of the subs here strive for classic rather than gourmet. What makes the difference is the«firehouse» feel, tons of sauce options at the end of the ordering bar, and friendly service. Overall, I’d come back, but because of all of the options in the area, it likely won’t be soon. It’s good for casual, affordable dining, and for families.
