Carla had great customer service and she keeps the ship afloat. The manager and his wife go through every room to fake clean and search your belongings. The state park behind the motel means at night it is quieter than anywhere else in the city, but the prostitutes and drug dealers they cater to use it as a dead drop for drugs and a fuck spot. They make their big money from the short stay customers and I found penis enlargement cream, viagra pills, used condoms, a half smoked joint, and a bag that had powder in it right under the headboard and behind the dresser after they said they cleaned the room. The manager and his employee family are an average Indian American family trying to make ends meet, working as slaves for a rich Indian landlord in New Jersey, and they put their son through college doing it this way. They have had to deal with a lot of idiots, racism, and mean people, and it seems to have made them slightly bitter and ignorant like good New Yorkers. If you are staying for work and are not the typical rude pimp and hooker they will be confused. They were kind enough to tell me where to find the best Indian food around when I asked, but they told me they were unhappy they couldn’t rent the room to short stayers, they told me to stop complaining about how dirty and trashy it was, and never did anything to clean the room or keep away the bad elements. West Shore Motel provides an economical option for short stay motel seekers looking to get high, drunk, and fuck on Staten Island, even though it is pretty much the only option for working people. It’s still more than 60 a night for a 30 a night grade room, but you cant find a better deal and they know it. This motel only cleans rooms on Thurs and Sat, when they feel like it, and they are not thorough, so be prepared to ask for the cleaning supplies and spend the first two hours sanitizing the room like I did. They will exchange sheets and towels once a day, and they will tell you again not to complain about the slow WiFi because they can’t afford more than one little access point. As an added bonus there were a few fleas and the DNA of the previous inhabitants on nearly every surface, mirror and fabric in the room. I changed all the sheets and towels with clean ones. The AC was quiet and didn’t stink, and the fridge was clean. I don’t watch TV but there was a new one in the room. I think a little paint, some new trees in front, asphalt, and some actual effort to clean every room daily would turn the place around. Despite the time and effort they obviously don’t want to put in, THEY COULD STOP RENTING TO DRUG ADDICTED PIMPS AND WHORES and it would really improve this place. Sadly I have stayed in far worse quarters, and this just goes on my list. I appreciate the little good in this place and will be honest with you, you are looking for a fight if you come here instead of any other hotel. Namaste.

The West Shore Motor Lodge is the WORST HOTEL EVERRRRR!!! The people there are the rudest and most disrespectful bunch of low lifes I have ever come across in my life. They have nothing but pimps, hookers, drug dealers and addicts staying there. (not that I have anything against these people). At least you know who you’re dealing with. But the owners of this crap hole are nothing but judgemental low lifes. They refused to give me a room for a two weeks stay because they didnt like me. A couple weeks earlier when me and my wife stayed there I had some words with that fat cow that works the overnight shift. She’s the worst of them all. A miserable human being if ever there was one. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. YOU’RE BETTER OFF SPENDING THE NIGHT AT THE FERRY TERMINAL THAN IN THIS CRAP HOLE.
