I have come to this place since i first got glasses when I was around 10 or 11 years old. Always had almost no problem. I wear contacts and glasses and service is good. Doctor is good and always gives me an accurate prescription. Glasses are good quality, and the service is very nice, the staff doesn’t make you feel rushed to choose a pair of glasses or to make a quick decision. I am always happy with purchases here. And if you ask they will tighten your glasses for free. The only issue I have had is recently I ordered contacts and they labeled the wrong left and right eyes. Luckily, I know my prescription though so my vision isn’t weird. Other than that I have had a good overall experience here.

Sterling Optical is the best glasses store I ever went to! I’ve been shopping for glasses over 13 years and this is the best experience I’ve ever had. They are attentive, knowledgeable and patient. You need glasses? Go here!

Went there on a Wed. morning to get new lenses and frames from a prescription my Dr. gave me. The young girl who helped me was extremely polite, quite knowledgeable and very professional. I am just sorry I did not get her name to thank her in this post. Prices were a little high, but mostly that was due to the fact I had to get progressive lenses. Otherwise the frames were very reasonably priced. Like I said, went there on a Wed. morning and I had my glasses by Sunday morning. So, it was not too long of a wait at all. It probably would have been sooner if they were just regular lenses instead of the progressive ones. I definitely would go back again so I would give it my recommendation…

Since moving to Staten Island I haven’t found a optical store I’ve liked till I came here.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was helped by Kathy and she was such a delight. I came in for an eye exam and a new pair of glasses and also new contacts. It’s hard to find frames that fit my face because I have a round shape and my nose is really small. So it’s hard to find the perfect frames. But Kathy took the time to help my find the perfect ones. Usually sales associates just hand glasses that you want to try on but Kathy suggested ones that she thinks I should try on and such. I would say I spent over an hour trying on all the frames in the store. She was patient and helpful the whole time. I was also helped by the manager of the place, Cookie who was wonderful also.
I also ordered contacts and got new lenses for my old glasses.
This will be the place I will be ordering my contacts from now on and future new glasses.

Located on the Lower Level/Macy’s at the Staten Island Mall, the ladies at Sterling Opticals provide 100% customer service without making it about the sale. The Manager (Cookie) and her Sales Associates never rushed me or added pressure, in that way when I left, I felt like I didn’t regret my purchase. Everyone was attentive to detail to my own personal concerns and VERY PATIENT. I noticed how patient they were with the previous difficult customer.
I’m very happy I went here. After the initial visit, the turn around time to pick up my new eyeglasses was about a day. I brought in a pair of lenses previously purchased from another eyeglass store, and Sterling Opticals were able to use the lenses on a new silhouette frame.
I would definitely return to them in the future for additional eyeglasses.

I love this place, the women that work here are so helpful and professional. they will go out of their way to help you. They treat you the same, even if you are buying expensive brand name or a generic pair. Chris is the best! Customer service is awesome!

The customer service was great and the people there are awesome. They really care about the customer and they are quick with your orders. Will shop here again.

I normally hate in-​person shopping for my spectacles. I avoid it at all costs. But I recently broke my glasses beyond repair and was in crisis mode. I went to Sterling Optical and I found the help, especially Christine and Nicole very friendly and accommodating. There wasn’t any pressure to purchase something high end and I felt comfortable browsing at my own leisure. I also have to say my mother had a similar experience as well. Thank you, ladies! :)

Customer service is excellent at this Sterling Optical. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Nicole is my favorite. She is very knowledgeable and will go above and beyond to help you find something that’s perfect. We have been going to this store for years, and we are always happy with the results.

I bought eyeglasses here. Big mistake that I will never repeat again. The eye exam and the optometrist seemed to be fine. However, one lens of my eyeglasses were not correctly made. It was marred by what I would describe as a starburst or swirl in the lens, which was especially bothersome whenever I am looking at something where light is shining into my face, like a computer screen or a movie. However, it is not visible in indirect light, such as in the store. One time when I returned to complain, they sent me away, saying I could clean it off. Another time, they did replace the lens. The new lens had the same problem. When I returned again to ask for another try to correctly make this lens, they refused because the lens had developed a scratch — or a crack — located right in that problem area of the lens. They said I would have to pay for a new lens. I left. I’m going to have to get a new lens elsewhere, because I’m not giving them another chance to waste any more of my money and time.

Two years ago I came for an exam because I knew I needed glasses and the eye doctor was rude and couldn’t be bothered. I was also helped by an older blond who rushed me into my purchase.
Fast forward two years I came back last month for an eye exam. The same rude dr did my exam but now I had the most pleasant, helpful and sweet sales woman. Her name was Christine (hard for me to forget) and she was really great! I decided to keep my same frames and change the lenses.
I think because this location is in the mall it’s always too crowded and of course that eye doctor killed it for me.
