I’ve been coming to this diner for years and never had a bad experience with them. The restaurant is located in the Castleton Corners area of Staten Island. It is located in a plaza, so parking can be a drag at time. If you are coming here via Public Transportation. The s/61, s/62, and s/66 stops near this dinner. During rush hours the s/91, s/92, and s/93 will get you here quicker. I came on a sunday to dine with a friend. She was feeing for some pancakes at 2 in the afternoon. I was kind of skeptical in coming because since I’ve changed my dietary habits, I haven’t came back to this place for about 6 months. I decided to try a happy quesadilla(spinach, mushrooms, avocados and minus the cheese). I was so happy that they accommodated that for me. It was a bit greasy but it was good. My friend got the Hungry man plate(bacon, sausage, 2 big pancakes, and scramble eggs). She ate all of her food. The only thing I didn’t like was at the beginning we ordered a fruit cup salad as an appetizer but received it at the end after our entries because the server«forgot». The establishment wasn’t packed and we kept on reminding him like 4 times. NOBUENO! Overall, the bill is only $ 28.00 between the both of us. I would come back again!

Every year, my husband and I stop here after an early morning tax appointment. one year, that happened to be on Valentine’s Day. The diner gave each customer a complimentary pink frosted donut to take home. The breakfast selections are delicious and generous in size. Staff is friendly and attentive.

What a great place its the cheers of breakfast joints. Everything is always good and coffee is always hot. The NYPost is always there to be read. Keep up the good work.

One of the best, if not the best diner on the island. Food is consistently good diner fair with a number of more off-the-wall breakfast choices. Never actually had lunch here but I will assume based on the multitude of breakfasts I’ve eaten here that its good. Only real complaint is the hours of operation, its one of those more Pennsylvania style diners that opens really early in the morning and closes earlier, rather than being the NJ style 24 Hour establishment.

Reading all the Unilocal reviews was what made me want to try out this place. I’m so glad I did! The breakfast is amazing here as well as the coffee. Attentive servers. It can get busy but you’ll get a seat and if you have to wait, believe me it’ll be worth it! Can’t wait to go back!

My best experiences here revolve around the breakfast menu, although their panini sandwiches and veggie burgers are pretty great. I am a vegetarian, so I can’t say anything about their meat other than the fact that my boyfriend has never ordered anything that he hasn’t liked from there. One star off because sometimes the food is a little too greasy and on one of their busier days, we had our food and had to wait some time as our food got cold to receive any silverware. Also, they failed to include an item in my to go order once. If anything, I blame myself on that one for not checking before I left. Their coffee is good, their servers are friendly, and the prices are very fair. Overall, I would certainly recommend this diner.

Admittedly, despite the 3 star rating I’m giving them, I order from them pretty often… I’m a fan of breakfast and they have a nice selection. The Ultimate Warrior(3 scrambled eggs, sausage, and cheese on homemade waffles) is a favorite of mine. Even the selection of wraps are incredible. But I have to say I’m wildly disappointed in what they call chicken fingers/breaded chicken. I ordered the chicken finger appetizer and received pretty much a handful of Weaver processed chicken tenders… Just soft processed chicken parts with bland soggy breading. Really? So much fresh made food with quality ingredients, and THAT’S what you offer up as chicken fingers? I ordered the Navajo wrap(breaded chicken, black beans, corn, avocado etc) and sure enough, the«breaded chicken» was the same soggy craptastic processed chicken. Hell, even McDonald’s «chicken selects» resembles REAL chicken. Maybe, find out who their supplier is and use them. It’s still frozen chicken, but at least it tastes real. Oh, and food aside, I don’t know what it is, but if I order delivery on a Saturday, they always get something wrong. Once, I got someone else’s order completely and waited an additional 20 minutes for my order, and it was still wrong(sent a bagel instead of a bialy). Today was no different. They sent a buttered bialy instead of one with cream cheese that cost an additional $ 2 that they still managed to charge me for… SOOOCLOSE, yet, still not right in more ways than one. «I want my $ 2!!» — Creepy paperboy from«Better Off Dead»

I really wanted to like this place, unfortunately perhaps I ordered the wrong food. My husband and I came for brunch on a Sunday, parking was rough, but we were seated right away. The place was packed and that seemed like a good sign. We were seen to right away, coffee brought to us which tasted fine. Even better than typical diner coffee. My husband order the sloppy breakfast, which he loved(which I kind of loved too). I ordered a Belgian waffle with a side of scrambled eggs and sausage. The waffle was cold, The butter wouldn’t even melt slightly when I put it on. The scrambled eggs were just sad. They looked like they were scraped up off the grill and plopped on the plate. The best part was the sausage. Service was great, coffee was good. Hubs liked his food. That’s why it gets three stars. Maybe I’ll come back and order something else to see what the hype is about. Unfortunately for me, I’m not looking forward to that.

We’ve driven by almost daily and always wanted to go in. Finally, on an excellent recommendation we checked it out today and we were not disappointed. Great menu with your traditional diner food plus a spin of creativity. Great use of chipotle sauce and unique omelette offerings. From burgers to paninis and omelette everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal and very nice service. We will definitely be back!

As a homegrown Jersey shore boy, diner culture has been a part of my eating experiences since a young age. In my 32 years of eating in diners, I have not come across a diner that is as damn good as this one. My wife and I had made eating here a regular weekend tradition, and friends that visited even looked forward to our morning feast. Akis, the owner, sets the standard for the entire place. He’s been able to create a menu that is fun and dependable. You’ll never order something ‘eh’. My recommendation is ANYTHING. Quality ingredients, fair prices, great service. Not to mention– Akis fulfilled a bucket list item for me. He put a sandwich named after me on the menu! One painful Saturday morning, I ordered a play on their ‘eggs la la’ breakfast item, and wanted it all on a sandwich. Akis loved the idea, and over the next few visits, I tried slightly different variations, reporting back to him. When we finally got it, he told me he wanted to put it on the menu with whatever I named it. They forever have a loyal family of customers on our end. Kudos to Akis and co. My must try favorites: Eggs la la Eggs a la Wemrock Fried chicken– wow! Burgers(I normally order with an over-easy egg, bacon, avocado) Tuna salad Egg salad

Went their for burch. Very clean and cozy environment. Well laid out. The waiter was nice and friendly and the staff all seem Friendly too. Ordered common things I normally get other diners. But I wasn’t that super excited on my food. It was tasteless needed flavor. The eggs and steak was my overall favorite dish with them. I should have followed the Unilocalers photos and read their reviews. The pancakes was amazing! Well cooed and battered perfect! The date enjoyed the veggie omelette. Next time please put some salt & papers in the steak!

This place is GREAT! Growing up in Bayridge i grew up with small neighborhood diners so when I found this place when I moved to Staten island I couldn’t be happier. I must eat at the SI Diner at least 3 – 4 times a week usually breakfast and delivery for dinner, never had a bad meal, the service is also really good, my coffee is always ready for me the second they see me walk through the door. It’s called a diner but the food and service is not«diner» quality, its much much better. I have recommended this place to just about all my family and friends so whether your looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner, eat-in, pickup up or delivery give this Restaurant a try, I promise you will go back for seconds.

Yummy food. Quick and friendly service. Reasonable prices. What more can you ask for from a diner. My Taylor ham, egg, avocado, cheese, waffle sandwich monstrosity was one of the tastiest breakfasts I’ve had in quite some time!

The food and service is good here. I have only tried the tuna melt. I like it, but they serve it open and with way too much cheese. I forget to order it closed and less cheese. The curly fries are good too. They have many different omelette options and breakfast combinations. Everything tastes fresh.

Diners tend to be kind of cookie cutter. What’s on the menu at one is on the menu at the other and the variation in choice and quality falls into a bland if not comfortable rhythm. All this goes to set the Staten Island Diner apart from every other diner. The menu offers different and imaginative choices that feature quality ingredients that are well prepared. Something as simple as a chipotle cheeseburger shows the chef’s command of the craft: each item is well prepared and the chipotle sauce, while certainly not lacking for heat, is restrained enough that it complements the other equally well done ingredients. Breakfast items such as the Sombrero or the Sloppy Breakfast are fresh takes on breakfast and playful only because everything else is well done. Service is fast and easygoing. The dining room is welcoming and clean. As someone who pays attention to these things for personal and professional reasons, the staff and their procedures are careful and hygenic.

My mother and I were visiting the area and stopped in before noon on a Sunday. We immediately got seated and had water & coffee brought to the table. The atmosphere was cozy, not too loud and very family friendly. Nothing like a typical 50s diner that one would imagine, but more homely(better!). The waitress was very kind and attentive to our needs while we were here. They were VERY accommodating on the specifics of my omelet(Italian omelet with light mozzarella, add broccoli, and sweet potato fries instead of home fries). My mother said it was the best Italian sausage she had ever had(big man breakfast). My Italian omelet had amazing prosciutto well incorporated with fresh mozzarella. Fantastic service, quality of food, and warm atmosphere! The only thing negative is parking is limited. This cozy diner is a must for those visiting(or even living) in Staten Island!
