Piccolinos’s is a hidden gem with delicious italian food. Great during the week because they have a pre fixe menu for $ 22.95, 4 course dinner! The service here is impeccable and the entrees are huge! If you’re looking for a romantic night out or a place for a group definitely check this place out!

Came here on a Friday night — we were one of three parties seated in the restaurant. Service was attentive, although a bit slow. We were not expecting a 2.5 hour dinner on a Friday night. Three of us ordered the special of the day which was a squid ink and seafood pasta in a fra diavolo sauce — thumbs up all around! I got the homemade fettucini with shrimp which was terribly over cooked. The shrimp were rubbery and the pasta was extremely overcooked — so much so that it was breaking as I was trying to twirl it. The overall flavor was good so that is the saving grace!

Great food great service and great prices everything was awesome when I went and I can’t wait to go back. The portions were perfect and our waiter was amazing. Thank you for an awesome night. I will be returning with my family soon.

Glad I finally tried this place. 1st time did not choose from the prefix menu and we both enjoyed both pasta entrees ordered, so much so that I went back for the prefix. All the courses were really good as were the portion sizes. I couldn’t give 5 stars because the desserts just weren’t good and the parking situation is just terrible. We had what they said was Italian cheesecake which tasted like Flan and the Tiramisu which just wasn’t good. I’ll go back and try other desserts still worth the price.

Great food!!.2 star rating because of one particular waiter. Who has consistently given me horrible service. Three hrs in a restaurant is way to long. Feels like I’m bothering him for service. Never smiles. No matre d. No owner asking how the service was. Won’t go back. And I’ve been there 5 times. I’m done!

I’ve been here a few times and always loved the food, tonight was exceptional. Our group enjoyed Caesar Salad, penne with eggplant and fresh ricotta, and my veal Francese was without a doubt the tastiest and most tender veal I’ve had in a long time. This was all part of their m-th pre fix dinner menu that includes dessert for just $ 22 per person! Can’t beat the price! The service was excellent too!

Fantastic fresh authentic Italian food. I recommend you make a reservation because it doesn’t matter what night, this place is packed. I love all of the sangria!!! Never been disappointed with this place. You will be here a while though, especially if you do the full course menu so don’t make plans soon after dinner!

I ordered food for a friend who lost her mother. They raved about how delicious the food was. The owner took the order and delivered the food promptly and hot. He also added extra things to make the gift extra special. They loved the fried squares which I think was Polenta! Excellent service excellent food!

Piccolino’s is one of my favorite restaurants. From the service to the food to the atmosphere and cleanliness everything is excellent. This is an exceptional place with reasonable prices … Try it yourself … Fixed price menu Monday thru Thursday but the weekend is still affordable for the preparation and choices.

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Great Kills! The prix fixe menu is the way to go, as the individual entrees are a bit pricey. For just $ 23, I was able to get a salad, pasta, entrée and dessert. I had the Caesar salad, pasta bolognese, and the chicken marasala — all of which were delicious!(My only complaint is that the pasta was a little too al dente.) For dessert, I had spumoni, but there were quite a few choices on the prix fixe menu. The décor has a pretty, old world look to it, which gives it a nice ambience. The wait staff was very attentive. I’d definitely go back!

From Hero to ZERO, food is good but where the heck was the service that I used to so enjoy? My wife never got her after dinner drink and no oops, no acknowledgement no apology. For the kind of money we dropped there tonight, I think I’ll try elsewhere before returning. It was good while it lasted but it might be time to move on.

I wanted to love this place after reading all the rave reviews on Unilocal but I was so disappointed. It was everything everyone said — from the valet parking, the Italian décor resembling your grandmother’s house(I was even looking for the plastic-covered couches) and the service was very good and then I took a bite of my beef bolagnese and it was hard, dry and lacked flavor. Someone else had the shrimp scampi and had to ask for more scampi sauce. The lamb chops were okay but the broccoli rabe was stringy and hard to cut and eat. The tater crochets were kind of sweet and the bread/frittata basket was bland. We had to keep asking for salt and pepper and cheese. Just anything to add flavor. I grew up in an Italian home and my mom is an excellent cook so maybe I have high standards because I can’t understand how anyone liked this food. What I loved was the intermezzo and my orange sorbet for dessert. When we were finally done they came out with a refreshing cup of fruit on the house. Nice touch. They had an entertainer sing during dinner which was kind of nice. I enjoyed everything but the actual dinner. I gave it a try but will probably not return.

Valet parking on a freezing night was a huge plus. The menu was awesome, not your typical Italina fare. Compliments on a perfect martini to start off the meal. We split the appetizer from the specials menu: sautéed fresh artichoke hearts topped with crabmeat and shaved Parmesan. Entrees were fabulous. Live music on Saturday night didn’t overpower the conversation. When we left at 7:30, there was over an hour wait so Make Reservations!

Went for a family event and started off with fried calamari which was tender and awesome. Followed by the side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Main meal was broiled flounder with broccoli and fried, which I think was cheese chunks. When the cakes came out purchased by my friend for her son, all the cakes were somehow never refrigerated and the ice cream, cheese and tiramisu was a melted mess. Think this where the lack of communication came into play. Don’t know if I’d go back but I may.

Real Italian food experience! This is a fantastic restaurant and gem. I love old style Italian where it feels that Frank Sinatra is sat a table. The food was great A-Z, the service impeccable and the price reasonable. If you love real Italian served old school, you will love Piccolino!

Excellent food and service. Four of us ate here on a Monday night. The hot antipasto with fried calamari, shrimp, baked clams, & eggplant rollatini was delicious. The eggplant rollatini had a light, creamy vodka sauce and was filled with ricotta — it was so good. I had the orrechiette pasta with broccoli rabe & Italian sausage in garlic & oil. It was very good. Two others had the fish special — a halibut breaded with coconut which they really enjoyed. The fourth had veal Milanese — breaded veal topped with an arugula salad with tomatoes, onions, chunks of mozzarella, and balsamic vinegar, and there wasn’t a crumb left on the plate when he was finished because he enjoyed it so much. We all shared one tortufo dessert because we were so full and had coffee. The tortufo and coffee were also really good. The décor is very simple and like an old fashioned Italian restaurant, nothing fancy. The wait staff were very good. We’re happy we found another good restaurant close to home. We will definitely be back and we recommend this place to all.

Located in a shabby, crowded part of Staten Island, this red sauce special is quite interesting. It’s elegant dark red front stands out from the pedestrian«wop slop» & generic«chink chow» eateries that crowd the Lilliputian parking lot that must be a wrinkle fender nightmare on weekends. Enter the wooden door and you’re transported to one of the better Italian restaurants on the West side of NYC. The menu is extensive but pricy, if you order a la carte. The Prix Fixe at $ 23 is the way to go! It includes an appetizer, a pasta, a main dish, desert & coffee. I had the Mussels in a savory red sauce with just a little bit of kick(Worth the extra $ 2), Pasta with Veal Sauce, and a Grilled Pork-chop with Mushrooms covered with a tasty red sauce along with Roasted Potatoes, String-beans & Squash. Desert was a delightfully light Tiramisu with a lacy rose of Whipped Cream, drizzled with Chocolate Sauce. To «fill the nooks & crannies» I sprung for the Cappuccino at a nominal extra charge. The service is leisurely, as befits a true Italian dining experience where the objective is to enjoy the ambience, savor the food & join the conversation rather than stuffing your gut. The waitstaff is efficient & professional so that the 2 hour dining experience seemed to fly by all too soon. This Italian Rose in a rough neighborhood is well worth the visit!

First time at Piccolino’s for a special occasion and I was in awe… Both the food and service were extraordinary! They accommodate to families with small children where they can select from the menu and get ½ portion. I love this option since my daughter likes to eat the foods from the adults but won’t eat the entire portion… loved the entrees(chicken caprese) and desserts, especially the cannoli, the flourless cake and the chocolate mouse. They prepare the mouse right in front of you… will definitely return!!!

Went here for the second time last night and it was as good as the first a couple of months ago. Food is great, especially the salads. Last night I had a salad with fried zucchini flowers and my husband had a salad with figs and Gorgonzola cheese. They were both amazing. Service is excellent too. I will return sooner next time.

I went here by accident. I loved this place! The service was fantastic and the food was delish! Also a pretty nice price point too. The place itself is very nicely decorated and they have a small jazz trio playing near the bar, which only added to the class of this place. Try the stuffed chicken and the grilled chicken with the prosciutto, spinach and mozzarella. Yum! Didnt have dessert tho. Full bar and amazing appetizers. Cant wait to go back again
