Came here last night(Wednesday) for kids night, with a friend & her children, the wait wasn’t as bad as I expected, about five minutes. There were kids very loud and running all around, basically to be expected on kids night, and it actually felt good to not have to continuously give my five year old«the look» to be quiet. The kids were happy to see the characters(buzz, and woody from toy story) the people in the cheaply looking costumes were very friendly, and made sure to interact with every child. Coming to the table several times, which my five year old loved. They also give the kids crayons & paper to draw, which also kept them entertained. Once seated it took a while for the waitress to finally come over and take the order, once I finally flagged her down, she seemed frazzled & confused, I really didn’t understand why considering the kids all ordered from the kiddy menu which only had about eight different items, as for me I played it safe, and had breakfast for dinner, honestly nothing else sounded appealing. We waited a very long time for the drinks & food to actually come, mind you it wasn’t that crowded. Once the food started to come out, it came out one at a time, first my friends plate, about three minutes later her daughters, about five mins after that my daughters plate, finally mine, which the eggs were wrong, so that had to go back, and my friends poor son had to wait 20 minutes after the first plate arrived for an order of pancakes, the waitress was basically no where to be found. It was really aggravating to keep looking for her. Not once did she come over to ask if we needed anything. We had to ask other people for napkins, utensils, and refills on drinks. Thankfully the children weren’t affected by the lack of attention from the waitress, they were too busy with the characters. They also have tattoos, face painting, and balloons, all in a little section by the front, there was a line, and only one person working that area which was annoying, but the kids waited, and were more patient than the adults. At the end the kids were suppose to receive a toy after we paid the bill, they ran out, which my son wasn’t too happy about considering he was eyeing them for a while. The cashier offered free cookies, but like any other five year old he wanted the toy. Basically you come here for the kids, not to eat a good dinner, not to eat a healthy meal, they enjoyed it, and that’s all that matters, if you don’t have children don’t come Wednesday evenings, or Thursday evenings when kids eat free all night, even I will stay away that night! Last but not least… make sure to put your most experience workers that night! I understand dealing with annoyed parents and screaming kids isn’t easy, but waiting for pancakes after 20 minutes is unacceptable, so is not bringing out the entire order all at once.

Perkins is essentially where Marie Calendar’s meets iHop. This quaint little location on Staten Island is where my dad used to come with my Grandmother all the time when he was little, and my parents always bring home delicious baked good from their bakery every time they visit New York, so I was excited to finally experience this place for myself. My family and I recently came to this location twice. The first time I ordered a bacon pancake dipper appetizer and the«Ragin’ Cajun Pasta». I was not a fan of the pasta at all and had sent it back; there was not enough seasoning or sauce. This wasn’t a huge deal because the bacon pancake dippers were pretty tasty and came in a pretty big portion. On the way out my mom got a dozen jelly donuts muffin, one of which I’m eating while I type this review(they are bomb). The second time I had gotten a «Wrappin’ Granny», which is an omelette with a tortilla wrapped around it; it came with a side of breakfast potatoes and cheese dipping sauce. It was pretty good. I think my mistake the first time was not ordering a breakfast item. Our waitress the second time was Tina, and she was excellent. All in all this is a dope breakfast spot. Heed my advice and get a breakfast item and/or something from the bakery.

A great place to eat breakfast anytime of the day Love the selection of egg platters Love the pitcher of coffee they give you So you don’t have to wait for someone to come around and refill your coffee I ‘ve eaten lunch and dinner here and it is a little disappointing so I say stick with breakfast no matter what time of the day Service is good here pies and cake are good but like I said stay away from lunch and dinner items on the menu they are disappointing

It’s a nice quiet restaurant, perfect for families. Service staff are friendly and get you to your seats and put in your orders pretty quickly. Food is mediocre, nothing amazing. I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Dinner with Grilled Asparagus. Food arrived just in time and our server was checking up on us frequently to make sure everything was good. Overall, 4 stars for a good experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a nice place to dine with family.

It is a nice place for families to get together and eat. But I would rather go to different places.

Service is ok here by the wait staff! The hostess is very lazy and does not seat the guests! Totally not right and rude… simply she said seat yourself! Lazy 101 for sure!

Perkins is a favorite breakfast/brunch spot of my family and I. The food is good. The prices are good. I always go home with leftovers. The staff here are really nice and helpful. I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience here.

Worst service ever. Will never go back to this restaurant again. Waited 40 minutes and wasn’t even waited on. One waitress was on her cell phone while two other servers were eating. Speaking to management is a joke.

They have a trio combo for $ 8.99, pick three out of the four choices: soup, sandwich, salad, or dessert. Also have the pick three appetizers for $ 9.99. I think these are really worth it. The dessert choices for the trio combo did not disappoint, they had different choices from pie to cookie(& for a total of $ 8.99?! Definitely worth it). The choices for appetizers definitely didn’t disappoint either. We got onion rings, chicken strips, and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. The chicken strips are tiny but fat. The mozzarella sticks and onion rings are average size. They all tasted good. The appetizers itself already full us up. I got BLT salad, Turkey Sandwich, and Apple pie for the trio combo. The salad was full of ingredient and it’s a good size. The sandwich is half and honestly it was too plain for me to like. The apple pie was good! It’s not too sweet and the crust isn’t hard. I saw someone ordered a really big bowl of salad, it was huge! It could’ve probably feed like four people! Maybe I’ll just order that next time.

Best honey mustard in the entire universe! Always a great place to eat. The servers are always very friendly and kind. Alex use to know my orders down to the side of kielbasa sausage with my super extra honey mustard on the side. She never forgot a thing. Get the double bacon Benedict! It’s not on the menu but they will make it if you ask them! It’s a regular Benedict with BACONONTOP! haha but seriously it’s amazing. I think what separates this Perkins to other location is that they are very caring to their customers. I called to make sure they still had a coconut custard(they make really good coconut custard pie lol) and the woman put it aside for me so I can pick it up because they only had one left. Why not 5 stars? You don’t have chocolate chip muffins! I ask every time I go there in hopes that if I ask enough they will order it lol

Great place for breakfast, their pancakes are the highlight, staff is friendly and welcoming. We love Sally and Margaret. Better than I-Hop. We go once a week on average.

Hands down the best pancakes in Staten Island. I’m completely hooked on their breakfast. We do sometimes want to change it up and go to either the Dakota Diner or Pasticeria Bruno but will always go back to Perkins.

I go here on the average of, lets see, I guess about once every two weeks. I am here mostly for their breakfast which is usually an omelet or pancakes(or both, lol). The service is attentive, accommodating and friendly. I don’t have any complaints whatsoever. I like a restaurant that has a varied menu to choose from and Perkins certainly fits that bill. And I actually like this place better than Ihop which is across the street. You could go crazy with all the delicious looking desserts Perkins has in its display case. And I have to say, they are all usually top notch. You can’t go wrong with their fresh baked pies, brownies and chocolate chip cookies. All in all, I would have to say, I look forward to my breakfast here…“Just An Update”; I guess you can go wrong with the brownies. I had one this morning(this morning being 9⁄9) and it was as dry as a desert or I could say dessert! But all kidding aside, the brownie was extremely dry and maybe even a little stale. Brownies should be a little or somewhat moist and should bend a little before you break them with your hands. The brownie I had practically crumbled to dust. So always make sure you ask the person behind the counter when the brownies were made before you buy them…

Perkins is quiet, with a nice family vibe. I like their Halloween presentation at the bakery section that is seen as soon as you walk in. We did a breakfast and lunch combo that wasn’t quite brunch lol. We chose the 1. three crispy panko-breaded cod fillets, served with tartar sauce, fries and a garden salad. 1,420 cal.(The garden salad never showed up, I didnt ask about it and our waitress never mentioned it) And 2. Cinnamon roll French toast, chicken apple sausage, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and apple juuce all ’round. Everything cost $ 32.49 plus tip. Oh I also got lemon meringue to go. Like I said it was quiet and our food came quickly and tasted good. Been searching for fish n chips for a while and theirs made me feel like I was back in England. The waitress worked like she was paying us to dine there. Thanks Perkins! The End.

This is almost a four star for me, yea, I know its just Perkins, but it seems like Perkins came along way. I know, its a chain restaurant, but the food is way better than expected, and at this location parking is great. they have two parking lots which make it very easy to find parking, so don’t get discouraged from the traffic on Forest Ave. Service is always friendly, Plenty of booth and table seating. The breakfast is the real reason I come here, its my answer to the over rated, over packed limited tight parking lot that Ihop on Richmond Ave has.

came by last night bc of their kid’s night gimmick I had fallen for bc of my daugther. Got seated, and waited for 20 min without service. Had to wave my hand around like some unwanted customer, but the waitress did apologized, no worry. Then, I ordered a specialty burger with fried onion and cheddar cheese in it, and came out only cheeseburger. When i try to let the waitress know about it, she insisted that i ordered only cheeseburger. I just said, «forget it.» and suck up what I didn’t want. Lastly we ordered banana cream pie, and order came like somebody beat up this poor pie, n to make matter worst, the table next to us order same thing, and their’s came back like a normal triangular shaped beautiful pie. What a disappointment this was!!! my family n I will never go back!

Delicious diner food! Having a classic cheeseburger and pie is my favorite meal here. Weekends are packed with people, but weekday afternoons are a much calmer atmosphere.

I was here just yesterday and it was a very good eat. I ordered the Tangler burger and it was tasty in my style for medium. I was rather in excited that I had to serve myself plates and forks/knives especially when my daughter is right near me, but it’s a «family style» restaurant so, hey serve yourself haha! Overall the food is good, its not top of the peak but it will suffice your taste buds, and I do agree it is a bit outdated there but hey, I come here form the eats not the fashion show right??? Exactly!

The place was pretty packed. Our waiter promptly took our drink orders. Juice for the kiddos and coffee for me. After the drinks came and we placed our orders the wait was rather long. We ordered simple grill cheese, pancakes, a waffle(tasteless and not crispy at all) and Florentine omelette that came with a fruit cup(not sure it was fresh, fruit was warm and I had the feeling I got someone else’s left over fruit) so needless to say after my third cup of coffee our food arrived. My son’s grilled cheese was warm as it was my waffle. the eggs were okay but frankly by this point I just picked at my food. My other son enjoyed his sprinkles pancakes. I got some items from the bakery to take home; cookies and a blueberry tart(don’t remember exact name) these were good. I will probably return for their baked goods but I’ll skip on the meals. Perhaps I just did not know what to order here.
