Cannot say enough good things about this Salon and it’s staff. My stylist is Tom and he’s always keeping me up to date with the new hair trends. He takes the time out of the appointment to have a thorough consult to see where I want to be color wise and what type of cut/​style I want to achieve. Staff is pleasant, friendly and fun!

Let me start off by saying I am VERY picky. When I find a hair stylists that I like, I cling. With that said, I moved to Manhattan over four years ago and I still come back to Staten Island to get my hair done here by Jeff. He is the owner and an amazing stylist. I trust him and he’s never steered me wrong. Gives great haircuts, listens, and they last! Brilliant!

I love coming over here. It’s my time to be pampered and relax. Salon has a beautiful décor and friendly staff. They offer quality free drinks as well.
Michael is my stylist/​colorist. He was able to fix my butchered hair and the color disaster in a heartbeat. He gives me the perfect shade of red every time and an amazing haircut that retains its shape and remain gorgeous even when my hair grows significantly. He never rushes me out, he always listens to what I want my hair to look like and takes his time to make sure that it’s just perfect. Such a great talent!
I have long hair and I have to say that I paid a lot more to get color and blow out in other places. Gemmette’s prices are not high compared to other salons in Staten Island.
I am so happy that after years of salon hunting, I found the best place to go to.

After more years than I care to admit to trying salon after salon on Staten Island and just feeling blah about my stylist performance, I have now FINALLY found someone who absolutely gets me, and is secure enough and experienced enough to take my ideas and create a fabulous color and cut! Thank you Moriah… Every staff member is genuinely friendly and personable (how do they consistently do that?), and go out of their way to insure that you have the best experience possible. The salon is clean, well appointed, and all staff attend continuing education seminars. I cannot close without mentioning Jimmy, who is an assistant and probably one of the best assistants in the business. He is totally engaged during the hair cleansing process so unlike other salons assistants that make that part of the styling experience feel like a chore. The salon is competitively priced with other salons on the island, and from what I can tell enjoys a broad demographic client base. I’m so happy I tried this salon, and look forward to many more happy hairstyles!

What first caught my attention about salon was I heard how great Jeff treated his staff-​to me that meant something. It’s more than staff it’s family here!
I have thick wavy hair and not anyone can manage it but Nicole has! I can’t say enough beautiful things about Nicole-​talented great stylist sweetest. She has maintained and improved on the blonde I walked in with to a gorgeous light brown with highlights over the course of this year. She has done keratin on my hair too to make it smoother and manageable. That’s another thing they have specials during the week making it more affordable! Nicole does killer blow outs and she takes care of my hair making sure I put in a hair treatment each time right before-​I get complements the whole week on my hair and yes my blow out can last me from Sunday to Friday! My hair looks fresh and great that I am in shock it could last that long. I am there almost every other week!
You are welcomed like family when you come in offered a cappuccino (deeeelicious) water tea and a glass of wine. They are all gorgeous and if you go by their hair and style-​you are in best hands! The salon is cleaner than clean and decorated impeccably I walk out of there wanting to go home to decorate
The prices to me are great and also offer great promotions during the week.
This has become my home-​Nicole-​Jeff-​Mike-​Tom-​all girls are talented great people great place! More than highly recommend and I won’t recommend s salon unless I love it. I didn’t think I could ever find a stylist or a salon on Staten Island that could work with my crazy hair and I have and I am ecstatic! Gemmette is down Woodrow Road to Arthur Kill in that nice little shopping center! Perfect closely located!

I decided to come here since it is across my house and I bought a deal from Groupon. I came in for a regular haircut and a blowout. They start off washing your hair and it came with a complimentary neck or head massage. I thought that part of service was good. However, the hairdresser provided the worse service I have ever experienced at a hair salon. She did a quick hair cut which I don’t mind. But she was yanking all my hair out when she was blow drying and she didn’t even apologized. She just did not even seem to care about her client. It was the worse service I have experienced and it was definitely not worth the amount I paid for Groupon, let alone the original price.

Place itself is very nice, however I found most of the staff to be rude. I called
To speak to a manager three times and no one called me back. They do a decent price but is extremely over priced

Great place! Nice and quiet on Sunday mornings so I will be back. Attentive, very sweet people. Hair looks great. They offered me a drink as soon as I entered the salon. Listened to my needs and they give a free head massage with every shampoo. I will be back.

Salon is immaculate, tastefully decorated& is conveniently located with ample parking. Staff is friendly & eager to please. Have been coming here for about 2 years now & would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great cut. My hair is thick, wavy & curly — Moriah cuts & styles it beautifully.
