The spa lacks certain amenities I’ve come to expect. The 90 minute deep tissue massage by Pam, however, was MORE than I could have hoped for! Awesome! I don’t understand why there aren’t water coolers in the locker rooms. A simple jug of cool water would be nice… maybe with some lemon or cucumber slices… washcloths are not available, so if you want an ice cold cloth while in, or after a steam, you have to bring it from your room… and remember to take it back with you so you don’t get charged for it. I understand why they don’t have all the other common amenities… q-tips, cotton balls, razors, etc… there are a lot of kids at this family friendly resort, so that might not be feasible. But water? Come on! I wish I had known about the 15% off coupon towards another treatment, good for this stay only, that they gave me at the end of my treatment… I would not have«saved» my massage as the desert to my vacation and waited till the very end to enjoy it! I would have LOVED to have had Pam’s healing hands on me one more time!

If I were to review solely on my massage, I would give the Ridge Spa 4 – 5 stars and highly recommend Bobbie. However, I’m deducting for the overall experience. First off, prices were not listed on the site. I emailed to request a price list and received a brochure in Publisher format, which I had to view on my work computer. The manager did list prices for the couple things I inquired about, but one of the prices she quoted was higher than the brochure(which I guess was outdated). Also, when I called in to ask for specials, the girl on the phone said«buy one, get one 30% off.» The manager said in the email she wasn’t sure about specials because they change every Friday and she thinks it’s «buy one, get one 25%.» Really? You’re the«manager» and you can’t tell me what the special is for 3 days from now? How are people supposed to make reservations? Couples massages are not available, but I booked 1-hour Swedish massages for me and my husband. I’ve only been to a spa once before for a massage in Las Vegas, so I had a small inking what to expect. The premises were not as nice as the place I went to in LV, but they were ok. The pool/jacuzzi were under construction so not available. In the quiet room where you wait there was water and lukewarm tea. My massage with Bobbie was awesome. She was very nice, asked me beforehand if I had any areas to concentrate on and asked if I was ok with her using heat. I think the heat may have been above and beyond the normal Swedish massage, but it was wonderful! While she worked on my feet and legs she put hot packs on my shoulders and back. While she worked on my back she moved the hot packs to my feet and also used hot stones(or at least that’s what it felt like) on my shoulders and back. When she turned me over she placed a cool pack under my neck and over my eyes. She poured me ice water and left a mint, thank-you note and coupon for me at the end. Unfortunately, my husband didn’t seem to get the same level of service. It was his first ever professional massage and his person didn’t ask him any questions, explain any of the process, give him water afterwards or use any of the heat that I got. He enjoyed the massage but when we compared notes, we didn’t get the same treatment.

My hubby & I went to The Ridge Spa on Saturday 1÷19÷13 to have a relaxing massage in celebration of our wedding anniversary. The massages were very relaxing! Minus 1 star that couples massages aren’t available. We had to go in separate rooms. Other than that it was great!

This is a must visit whenever I go back to The Ridge. They always have great specials. My favs: one hour massage with a scrub in the summer to get that nice summer glow & one hour massage with a european facial in the winter to take the winter dead off my face. This time around, I opted for the Saturday special: one hour deep tissue massage for $ 85. OMG… well worth it. Sheila was awesome. Usually I don’t like talking during my massage, but she was super cool to talk to. Had some interesting stories about living in Tahoe. Most importantly, she was able to take the soreness out of my shoulders that was bothering me for the past couple of days. Granted, the massage left me a little bit sore after, but it was gone within the next day. I can’t visit Tahoe without paying a visit to this spa. It’s that good.
