TJ Maxx

I’ve gotten a lot of great finds here over the years. In a tiny town like State College, being in fashion is very hard.
I usually try to hit TJ’s during clearance time. I got 6 tops for $ 80!
Considering I’ve spent $ 80 on a top, that’s not too shabby!

This store seems to have fewer options than in the past when it comes to mens clothing. There’s only a few different styles and they all look similar.
The prices at this location for the housewares section also seemed to have risen to the point it’s not worth it to buy those types of things here anymore. Many of their pots/​pans are stacked inside one another scratching the cookware surface.

I am not a fan of this TJ Maxx. Its funny to see so many Mercedes and Audi’s in the parking lot on the weekend though. Apparently the who’s who of this tiny but snobby town shops here religiously.
Every high heel is $ 39.99. GO TO ROSS, THEY GET THE SAME SHOES, and you won’t pay over $ 30. I promise. Trust me on this, if not anything else. I have a shoe problem, so I figured out the less I can pay for shoes, the more of them I can have– even on my limited, college student budget.
The prices are not a deal and their clearance stickers are usually not more than $ 5 off of the original price.
They buy their clothes in lots by the pound, so the prices on the clothes depend what was in that shipment and how much they paid per pound, which explains why the exact same Diesel jeans sometimes have a $ 20 price difference. (because one came in week 1 and the other midway through the week– different shipments.)
They do do a good job of putting women’s panties on clearance, though and a lot of times you can get them for a $ 1 a pair. Who doesn’t like new panties?
They really get a good variety of name brand things, like Valentino ties for me, Guess, Diesel, Free People, BCBG sweatsuits, Michael Kors shoes… but it’s really not the best place to shop because if you are a good sale shopper, you will make out much better somewhere else.
