The PYP Studio

PYP is an amazing studio! There is a variety of classes, with friendly and helpful staff. My personal favorites are the yoga classes, booty barre classes and cycle classes. You feel at home from the moment you walk in and are greeted with a friendly welcome, up until the moment you leave. The instructors are all very kind and helpful, and always willing to chat and provide additional help when you need it, but most of all they are extremely talented in what they teach. The classes are very reasonably priced, and there is a large selection of gorgeous clothing in the front office. Definitely a 5 star fitness studio!

PYP is my happy place. I always look forward to coming here, even though I know I’m about to get my butt kicked. The facility is clean and cheerful, the classes are plentiful and conveniently scheduled, and the instructors are unfailingly positive.
For students, it’s more expensive than a Penn State fitness membership, but you never have to worry about not getting into a class because it’s full by the time you arrive. If you’re really worried about a popular class, you can reserve a spot online, and the website works well. I’ve never seen anyone turned away. There are also full locker rooms (with showers) for both men and women, and parking couldn’t be easier. Those alone make it worth the very short trip from campus and downtown.
The members are diverse, with a nice town-​gown mix. There’s also diversity in body type and sport of choice — everything from distance runners to desk jockeys. In the yoga classes especially, modification is encouraged, and everybody works to their own needs. The instructors are great at getting you to find your limits, then stretch them. In general, the owners and staff seem to have thought out every detail in creating a welcoming, encouraging culture.
