Starkville Dog Park

I love the dog park. It’s a great place for dogs and dog owners. However, it does need some improvements. There are not enough benches. There used to be more, but two of them disappeared and were never replaced. The upkeep is lacking in some ways. There have been holes in the ground just covered with boards (provided by park users, not the city) for months. It would be very cheap for the city to dump some soil and re-​seed the grass. Also, the workers who mow frequently run over and destroy toys that are donated by park users.
Overall, I like the park because it’s a great place to let my dog run and play, but it could be awesome with just a little more love and care from the parks department.

Nice dog park — separate paddocks for big and small dogs, a dog-​sized water fountain, and also shaded bench areas for dog owners to take a break. I’d definitely agree it needs some upkeep, but it’s the only dog park, so I guess I’ll take it. McKee Park is unquestionably nicer, but there’s not a fenced area to let your dog off-​leash.
