This is one of the must go places for ramen if you live around the area. Try to go during off hours if you can because it will be a bit of wait My all time favorite is the tenshin omelette ramen. I can’t find this anywhere but here. It’s a big piece of omelette immersed in the shoyu based ramen soup, with a sort of pasty like sauce surrounding the omelette itself. It’s very tasty and every time I come here I cannot help it but to order this item. I highly recommend this place. Fast service too, which is somewhat rare for a busy ramen place.

I’m not sure why I have never been here prior to last week … but… it has now become my favorite ramen place. I am a frequent ramen eater because those I hang out with love it. I like that this place is flavorful, reasonably priced, and has the largest variety. It’s also a plus that it’s nearby my house and next to one of the best ice cream shops in town. When we went here last week on a Friday night at 7:30pm, it was pack but we got seated immediately. There was a wait that started shortly after us. Once seated, we were given waters right away. I went for their Kimchi Miso Ramen with added corn and fish cakes. It was very flavorful without being too salty. Yum! The noodles were very good. All the meats were also delicious and everything wasn’t greasy like other places. I had a taste of my two friends’ broths. The shoyu and kakuni broth were both very good. It’s about $ 10 a bowl for their ramens. I like that they have a lot of options you can choose from. You can also add stuff for cheaper than other places. For example, their corn is an additional 75 cents. You can even add fried rice for $ 2. I like that they also have stuff that’s not ramen for those who just aren’t in the mood. As for service, our food came out fast and they were really nice. The inside is very casual but fairly large. It gets really packed on the weekends and normally there’s a wait. Overall, I had a good first experience and will be back.

This is my first time experiencing such HORRIBLE customer service and lack of basic order taking. We came here around 7:30 at night on Wednesday. We had an older lady take our order and there was one younger server on the floor. We came across MULTIPLE problems when we received our ramen. I ordered extra vegetables, bamboo shoots, and bean sprouts. I got my order and there were no vegetables, extra bamboo shoots or bean sprouts. I told our server and she then said I do have vegetables and I said no I didn’t… I literally dug my chopstick in the bowl to show her I did NOT have any vegetables… She said okay, and left. 10 seconds later she comes back with the menu and points to the ingredients originally in my ramen and at this point I’m like ??? Ok… But I want ADDITIONAL vegetables because I don’t have vegetables ATALL in my bowl, she nods and says ok. At this point I’m waiting 10 minutes at least for STEAMEDVEGETABLES and my ramen goes cold. My friend also wanted additional steamed vegetables, AFTERTELLINGHERTWICE, he wanted it in his ramen after she messed up his ramen order. She comes back out after me several minutes. And with… steamed BEANSPROUTS! I’m not sure at this point if my party and I are crazy. After we FINALLY got our order right, they avoided our table and we still had to ask them TWICE to give us water. Anyway, the servers working showed a complete lack of competence and to top it off, when we got our bill and left they had the audacity to run to our table to see if we paid and laughed. I would understand a little if they were busy or what not but they weren’t. Management should have a talk with their servers. I will no longer be going to this ramen establishment, and it’s truly a shame because I really enjoyed the ramen. Ps. Don’t fuck with my vegetables

Really like the ramen here, but the other items that come with the ramen are scarce at best. You would have to order extra this, or that to get a substantial amount. If they put a larger amount of side items in the ramen, they would’ve gotten 5 stars from me. On the plus side, Service is quick, and the staff is friendly. Come on the weekday afternoons if you don’t want to wait.

Arrived a little after they opened and the restaurant was already getting filled. It was our first time here, so we just went with what was recommended on Unilocal reviews. Shared a regular Kukuni Deluxe with my boyfriend and surprisingly it filled us both us pretty well. The portion were big and service was fairly quick and friendly. Overall, looking to come back to try the spinach noodles they have!

I don’t really like this place :(really wish I did because I had been wanting to try this place for a while now! I ordered the spicy miso ramen w the pork, egg, bean sprouts and corn. The broth was so salty. I added a lotttt of water to dilute it down. The noodles weren’t cooked very nicely. A bit too firm for my liking. The prom pieces were good though! Flavorful. Usually in cases like these when I rate a place w two stars and the average Unilocal reviews are 4+, I like to think maybe they were having an off day :(maybe if I feel like trying this place out again, I’ll give it another try. I really like la-men on Cerritos Ave. This place just wasn’t cutting it for me :(

Its a nice spot, but its not top ramen, no I am not referring to actual top ramen. The quality is a little above decent, but not enough to have me say damn this is some really good ramen. The noodles are bit bland, but their meat quality is alright. They have a selection of recommended favorites and service here is very good. I personally enjoy the meat lovers. You do get a bit more meat than other ramen bowls, but other bowls are just as fine. For the location and price this would be my go to if I didn’t want to drive a little further out elsewhere. Would I recommend this place to others? Definitely! The food leaves me content and full, but it could use an extra kick to fully satisfy my taste buds.

My favorite local ramen spot! Looks like they remodeled Gomen a while ago. It used to have a more traditional Japanese décor, which I loved. Now it has a more modern and updated look which isn’t bad either. I usually order the miso ramen which is always super flavorful. My boyfriend always orders the vegetable ramen which is a great option as well. The only«negative» would be their strange hours. I came one afternoon around 3pm and forgot about their weird operating hours — of course they were closed. But I’m sure they don’t have a problem financially because there are always guests waiting to be seated so I’m sure they’re doing just fine even with their hours of operation :)

This is the spot. Every other Sunday I’m here for that spicy miso tonkotsu ramen and that half order of fried rice. Cures my hangovers and is delicious. Much rather eat here than wait 30 – 45 min at shinsengumi. Although shinsengumi might taste better the wait if you have more than 2 is never worth.

This review is a little tough for me to write and I hope you take the time to read it through this restaurant received a three star review because the service is always so horrible because there’s always a language barrier and they seem to be always so busy they can’t stop to acknowledge what you want. don’t get me wrong though those ladies are some of the nicest people ever and the Ramen is absolutely authentic and the food is great and you pay for it. The Ramen is definitely a 4.5 –5star for sure. The waiting area is very cramped and it seems to be always crowded during lunch rush hour and at dinner time. Other than that I highly recommend and realistically the whole experience is closer to 83.85 star if there such a thing

Came to this ramen house on a Wednesday during lunch and was excited to see a small wait list. However I’m sorry to say that it didn’t live up to my expectations. Maybe my hopes were too high. Ordered the deluxe with extra ramen, half order gyoza, and half order fried rice. Gyoza fell apart at the bite and was stuffed with generic cabbage. Fried rice was actually not bad if you’re comfortable with eating Chinese fried rice. Now the ramen. Broth lacked flavor and noodles were really undercooked. My bowl had more Chinese veggies than pork. Was very disappointing. Will not be back.

Great Ramen Spot! Had this placed bookmarked for a few months and finally had the chance to give it a try on Sunday. Tried the Kukuni Delux and it rocked my ramen world. Great broth, tons of flavor, HUGE portion, and the pork was tender and flavorful. I am in love with you Gomen Ramen; I think you should move to Long Beach so I can be with you everyday.

Gomen is my go to ramen shop. It’s only a couple of miles away from where I live so it’s not a long trek to get good ramen. I used to go to Shinsengumi for ramen, but it’s much further. The parking lot here isn’t too big, but I’ve always been able to find parking. It’s located at the plaza next to Shoe City. The restaurant isn’t too small, but sometimes there can be a wait. Tonkatsu Miso Ramen: Pretty much the only thing I order here. The broth is rich and flavorful. I like that it comes with egg, bean sprouts, corn, green onions, and chashu pork. I almost always get it with an order of bamboo though. Spinach Noodles: I used to always get my tonkatsu miso ramen with the regular noodles, but since I discovered this… I haven’t gone back. The noodles are green and are chewier than the regular noodles. I really like them.

First check in 2nd time visit. It was a cool Scorpio Night in Anaheim with Stanton being close enough to get to with No hassle we made the trek. Very good last time. Looking forward to spicy tonkatsu and gyoza to share with the wife. She ordered the Medium ton w/extra chachu. Same #1 combo on the menu. Multiple noodle, spicy, and soup base to choose from.

I really like this mom & pop ramen spot. The owners are Japanese and the lady is so sweet here. The broth was super flavor. The noodles were a little al dente, but I LOVE them a little firm. I got the spicy one and it was pretty spicy! Not like other places where I order spicy and I taste no spice whatsoever. We also ordered the fried rice, which tasted very salty to me. Service was super friendly and quick. Will return soon!

When life kicks you in the teeth, the face and the stomach it calls for RAMAN! Yet again life was busy and the mom-n-ator was back in the hospital on vcay. Bummer! Getting old is not for sissy’s! Anywho my Unilocal bud Kevin was checking in on me and mentioned that he was having din-din with Miss Lica who I had heard such GREAT things about. No I didn’t feel like it, yes I was tired, and I had already missed a UYE din-din the previous night not to mention a couple Unilocal events so I told him I was in! We met around 6:30pm and this place was REALLY close to the hospital so it made it a quick drive for me and I didn’t have to go far, which was also great! I had seen this place before several times and wanted to try it out but never got around to trying it which is why I have so many bookmarks. I was also a little under the weather so RAMAN like Phở is ALWAYSGOOD! I could enjoy good company and slurp my way to feeling better and at the same time eat something other then yogurt, fruit and tuna directly from the Starkist package. This diet was becoming all too familiar this week with the mom-n-ator vacationing in ICU! When I arrive they were there so we chatted for a while and then proceeded to order. I got the Miso Raman, I can’t remember what type of Raman they ordered because Little Miss Lica was gracious enough to order for us in JAPANESE! HOWCOOLISTHAT! SOAHHH-MAZING! We also ordered some gyoza, rice and edamame. I didn’t have much of an appetite but I managed to get some down as well as a gyoza and tried the rice before I had to tap out. The gyoza was ok I have had better but I REALLY liked everything else. And because there was some rice left I added it to my raman for lunch the next day which warmed up NICELY ad was quite filling! I like this place. Good food and mine wasn’t salty which was good. I think my taste buds might have been slightly off so I’ll have to go back and try something else. Also good to have another place to go for hot soup when you not feeling so hot.

You know its a good ramen place if japanese people are running it. I got their spicy ramen and fried rice combo. Broth was very good, very rich in flavor, and the meat that came with the ramen was delicious. The combination was lot of food for me to finish. Didn’t get a chance to touch my fried rice since I was so busy finishing the ramen. Packed the rice togo and had it the next day. Place place closes early but parking is good.

Gomen creates a quality bowl of Ramen in the unlikeliest of places. With the cold weather upon us the Ramen season is here and in my hunt for new and different slurpables in OC/LA area Gomen was brought to my attention by fellow Unilocaler Joe P. Located in a nondescript strip mall in the rough and tumble city of Stanton, one would be forgiven for dismissing Gomen by curb appeal alone. Once inside however, it is apparent that this restaurant takes their brand of Ramen seriously, and so does the patrons. The menu is expansive in comparison to its peer group and offers sides such as Gyoza and Rice dishes but let’s face it, I was there for one thing. With the waitress staring at me I was forced to make a game time decision on what concoction I would have and seeing the«Meat Lovers» as the 2nd most popular, I went that route. Within 5 minutes a hot and steaming bowl was placed before me. Gomen’s Meat Lovers Ramen has a very unique broth. It is extremely thin and akin to Phở much more than typical Ramen in its consistency. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your preference, I was perfectly fine with it. The saltiness of the Pork Marrow is more pronounced than the fattiness and there are hints of ginger in the background. The Noodles were otherworldly. Thick, long and marvelously al dente with perhaps the best mouth feel I have had in a Ramen noodle since… ever? If nothing else I would return to Gomen for these noodles alone. But not all was well with my bowl. The dozen or so pieces of Chashu that lined the bowl were somewhat rubbery in texture and the fat layer was very loose. The Bamboo shoots had been overcooked and became squishy, and worse still, the Hard Boiled Egg was very cold, indicative of it coming straight out of the refrigerator and the broth was unable to heat it through(I arrived as the restaurant opened). Another key factor to consider is the cost of admission: $ 11.99 is likely the most I have ever paid for a bowl of Ramen. Quibbles aside, it was still a strong bowl of Ramen based on the broth alone and I will make it a point to return and try their Miso or Kimchi offerings to see if I can’t get a 4 star experience out of Gomen.
