Today I came back here and had a chance to try the plain tart frozen yogurt. It comes with honey or maple syrup for free, and fruit and dry toppings for 60 cents each — but I decided to try Fraiche in its purest form and went for a junior size plain tart for a bit more than $ 4. The junior size is actually not that small, so I would say it was a decent amount for the price. Service at this location is friendly and quick, I was offered samples, and the pricing model is transparent, so all the business elements are four-star-worthy, but the actual frozen yogurt is nothing new. It’s housemade and apparently made from Greek yogurt, so that’s unique, but it really tastes just like any other tart frozen yogurt. This Fraiche is good considering its location, so I’m giving it three stars overall. Fast service, convenient location, not terrible prices, but the yogurt is a bit icy. This doesn’t stop me from going back, though! I’ll definitely be back. tldr: A branch in Tressider worth trying

wayyy tooo overpriced… i would rather go to pinkberry in the shopping center. the price is ridiculous and you get so little topping ;( unfortunately it is the only froyo place on campus :(

I used to love this place because it was the only«healthy» snack place on campus, but then their yogurts started tasting flavorless. They are never open early enough in the morning and never late enough in the evenings. If you’re a helpless college student stuck on campus, though, Fraiche is a good option… if it’s open, that is.

Mochi tasted not fresh…:( Note-to-management: Regular quality control please.

It must have been an off day because the yogurt I got was icy and tasteless. The portion was generous, but I paid too much for watered down slush. I hadn’t been to a fraiche in a while and after today I don’t see any reason why I should go back.

Pretty spendy for froyo. However, they do have fresh yogurt, and the toppings aren’t bad.

The quality of the yogurt here is not nearly as good as in the shop in downtown Palo Alto. It’s more icy, as if it was watered down. Not as tasty either.

Fraiche Yogurt located conveniently in Tressider Union is likely the only place to get edible frozen yogurt on campus. Its small booth may perhaps be the best offering at Tressider as well. Of the flavors offered at Fraiche, perhaps their strongest offerings are their tart flavors of frozen yogurt. While these frozen yogurts are a refreshing treat, they are a bit too icy for my tastes and could use a bit more creaminess to help round out the tartness. Overall, they are better than the average froyo joint. Fraiche, like so many other full service frozen yogurt joints, is an offender of the hallowed center frozen yogurt piping technique. This deceiving tactic leaves you empty inside, just like their yogurt. Fraiche offers a wide range of toppings, most of which you have come to expect from any decent froyo joint. However, they do have a few interesting toppings like fruit compote that helps set them apart. The one topping worth getting at Fraiche is their mochi. They offer some of the best mochi I’ve ever had at a frozen yogurt joint. Fraiche’s mochi is soft yet chewy. That being said, I have gone to Fraiche three or four times in the past few months, and they have run out of their mochi by 1pm. If you have run out of the flagship topping by 1pm and have no intentions to make more, then you ought to reconsider management. Mochi isn’t even that hard to make! Frankly, Fraiche is a good frozen yogurt offering in a pinch. However, due to their consistent lack of mochi, hallowed center frozen yogurt, and mediocre prices(about 3 to 5 dollars), it isn’t a must have.

Food: The soy yogurt here is absolutely amazing. Somehow it’s only around like half the times I come here though for various reasons. There isn’t a huge selection. It’s generally quality over quantity & the quality is superb. As for the toppings, I never taken any — they are quite pricey. Anyway, try the soy froyo!

This locale is really small and unorganized. At first there was only one worker and she was getting slammed by the indecisive masses of girls who kept asking for samples and had oblivious notions that they were holding everything up. Once another worker showed up i got my order on and passed the two slow asses in front of me. Pomegranate, nice and cold with good tartness. Took the cup sat in the tree shade of the courtyard and enjoyed the 75 deg F weather. m3.5 stars

I spent many a college afternoon and post dinner dessert session at Fraiche. It used to only be in downtown Palo Alto, and then a great divinity smiled down on Stanford and decided to bring Fraiche to campus and there’s now one in Tresidder Union. Nom. Which makes my random alumni walks through campus all the more enjoyable and tasty hehe. Nom again. Their flavors are few but delicious. Chocolate, natural, soy, and one other one I can’t recall for one some reason are their main offerings with a few swirl combinations. The yogurt is rich and has a tart-like flavor kind of comparable to the taste of Pinkberry. A little less sugary and a little more rich in flavor though. Their toppings are unique and not your run of the mill M & Ms and Reeses Cups. Instead they have things like chocolate shavings, dried figs, and ollalieberry. Ollalieberry is a surprisingly and uniquely delicious topping. Not even sure how to describe it but combine it with the graham crackers atop a natural and chocolate swirl and you really can’t go wrong. Fraiche isn’t cheap but that’s not really their thing. They are a high quality, one of a high yogurt place that really pays attention to its products and does a spectacular job of serving only the best. In addition to yogurt they also serve ridiculously good cookies and decent coffee. There’s also one in downtown Palo Alto, although last I heard they moved a little bit up the street. On a hot afternoon like this, this is by far my favorite yogurt place in Palo Alto. DOIT!

The two women who worked here last Sunday were amazing. They were super nice to my friends who had never been to a fraiche before and when I asked about the Pomegranate froyo… they straight up told me it tasted weird in the morning and they were in the middle of redoing it(which they were). They were super friendly and fraiche is always very refreshing so this combination was great. I got the frozen yogurt that had the granola, honey, and strawberries.

Conveniently located in Tressider at Stanford, but does not accept meal plan dollars. Same Fraiche yogurt as the downtown store, but the selection is far more limited. Does not offer nano size, thus more expensive. Less topping choices. No seasonal flavors. Shaved chocolate isn’t freshly shaved. In general, conveniently located for Stanford students, but limited selection makes the nearby downtown branch a better place to visit.

This is a grab-n-go spot within Tressider — ergo, you definitely won’t find the atmosphere that you’d get at the shop in downtown Palo Alto. But you will find most of the same food offerings. The frozen yogurt is nice and tart; haven’t noticed any differences in quality here. And — if you’re not a Starbucks fan, you do have an alternate here in the Blue Bottle Coffee that they sell. If it’s a nice day and you want a treat to enjoy as you stroll around campus, this is a good option.

I like to come here sometimes when I visit Stanford to see my sister. I love the granola they use but the yogurt seems different every time I go there. Sometimes it’s thick and sometimes it’s icy; sometimes it’s sweeter and sometimes it’s tangy. I just wish that the yogurt was more consistent since it costs a lot for yogurt.

***Fraiche’s frozen yogurt is good, but the selection of both flavors and toppings is limited at this small satellite location in a Stanford dining center; the toppings bar was also messy*** This Fraiche Yogurt is located in a Stanford dining center. There is a small selection of frozen yogurt, but the frozen yogurt is good. I liked the good, light flavor(as well as the smoothness and creaminess) of the valrhona chocolate while the mango had both a mango flavor and a tartness. There was a limited selection of mostly healthy toppings. I did not get any, but the toppings bar(the servers add the toppings) was a mess with dry and liquid toppings everywhere. I cannot recall the exact prices that well, but I remember them being reasonable enough for a sweet treat. Service was fine. The frozen yogurt here is fine and seemingly healthy, but I imagine visiting a non-food court Fraiche location would be significantly more satisfying. There is visitor parking available at Stanford; parking rates are high.

I’ve always wanted to try Fraiche, but had never had the chance to until I was coincidentally on the Stanford campus today, and what a joy it was. The flavors that were available today included: Natural, soy, and chocolate. I sampled the soy and natural flavors and ordered a junior sized soy yogurt with almonds and blueberries. The soy seemed creamier than the natural and had a hint of soy flavor which was absolutely delicious. I’m a fan.

Mmmm, Fro-yo. As some sort of health-nut/old-person who can’t handle the sugar-content of «real» ice-cream, I love Fraiche’s frozen yogurt. This isn’t the sort of FroYo that I met back in the Midwest, this is cold, sour, Greek yogurt. It’s awesome! Yes, you might say, I’m from California so I understand real FroYo. What makes this different from everywhere else? First, it is at Stanford. So if you are at Stanford, like me, this is your option. I’m rather happy with it. Second, Blue Bottle Coffee. So good! They have an iced coffee that is incredible, and I don’t usually like sweet coffee with milk. Finally, the toppings here are good. There are places that try to have 100 different possible toppings. How fresh do you think they are? Here they go for quality over quantity. The fresh fruit is great and they do a variety of sweet things as well — I like their homemade mochi topping. My biggest complaint is the menu. It isn’t easy to see what their list of toppings is to think about what you want before you order. There will often be a line — Stanford students love their FroYo.

Happen to find such a yogurt place in a sunny afternoon when we walked around Stanford. It has several ice-cream flavor, but as usual I only eat the plain one. This one is not very tart, and is a little bit toooo plain – I mean, not much flavor. But interestingly, they have the fig topping, which I think it’s rare. But it’s not that tastful, a little bit dry. I think I still prefer the self-service fro-yo. It’s so much fun!

Ah, behold the pomegranate! It is an intimidating fruit, really hard to unlock its pleasures. But those little red gems of slightly bitter, antioxidant pleasure are great if served the right way. They serve pom seeds the right way here at Fraiche: sprinkled around a creamy, sweet-sour bed of frozen organic yogurt, all for less than $ 5. That’s having your desert fix w/out the guilt, and the red-and-white contrast b/t the yogurt and pomegranate is a real feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. It’s a simple meal, to be sure, but sometimes simple meals are the most satisfying. For me, at least(But I gave 5 stars to some fried dough at Tootsie’s, so what do I know?) Then, Fraiche also serves Blue Bottle drip coffee, freshly-made to order. I take mine black. It came in a simple white cup w/recycled holder, and it was good coffee. Nutty, with hints of actually roasted(not burnt!) beans giving it a slightly smoky flavor w/out overpowering acidity. Not like BBQ smoky, I mean like green coffee beans that have been heated up until they turn brown, revealing tasting notes that are sweet, bitter, and toasted nutty. Layers of coffee flavors even w/out cream or sugar … that’s the secret to some good java! This is the only place on the Stanford campus to get Blue Bottle coffee, which has a cult-like following in Oakland/Berkeley/SF and the long lines to prove it! Here, I had to wait 2 minutes, tops! And then I consumed these lovely little treats in the equally amazing New Guinea sculpture garden just a few steps away: a little-used but spectacular space on campus filled with wooden and stone art works made on-site by mastercraftsmen from Papua New Guinea, who came on the invitation of an anthropology professor in the 1980s. The version of Rodin’s «The Thinker» is really, really neat. Better than the original! I might have given Fraiche four stars if I had stayed to eat and drink in the crowded confines of the Tressider Student Union. But it gets a big five«woohoo!» if you take your things to the New Guinea sculpture garden. Trust me on this one!
