Went here to find a good bagel place since moving to Stamford. Found one but this definitely wasn’t it.

Terrible! I live right next door and we love bagels on the weekends, but we travel across town for Liz Sue because this place is run down, dirty, and the food is not good!

** Live Unilocaling of my Exit 9 Experience** [10:49 am] I have entered the building. Décor best described as post-apocalyptic minimalism. Noted that there are many Arizona teas available. [10:50 am] Surveyed the limited but adequate menu. Decided to order a sausage egg and cheese on a plain bagel with salt, pepper, ketchup. Immediately informed that there are no more plain bagels. Settle for sesame. [10:53 am] My order is called out. Another customer reaches for my bag. Brief moment of panic. Other customer realizes his nearly fatal mistake. Yes, fatal. [10:54 am] Take a seat facing the road, ready to sate my hunger. Breakfast sandwich is missing salt, pepper, ketchup. [10:57 am] Waited a few bites before forming an opinion. Bagel is kind of spongy, barely saved by a light toasting. Sausage is generic. Proportion of sausage: egg very nice. Still mourning the absence of my beloved salt, pepper, ketchup. [11:01 am] Radio infomercial asks if I’m considering cutting down on my marijuana consumption. Offended. [11:05 am] Breakfast sandwich consumed. Wondering why I didn’t go somewhere with a higher Unilocal rating.

Good bagels. Great service. The cream cheese and Lox spreads are great. Our office gets bagels here often.

DISGUSTING There’s a sign outside this shop that says something along the lines of «wait til you taste HER bagels,» and I never understood what it meant. After stopping in one morning to try one of these bagels I still don’t get it, mostly because I couldn’t bring myself to eat said bagel. It’s convenient location off I-95 makes it a great place to stop for some breakfast on the way to work, but that’s about it. I should also mention that the staff is friendly and attentive, and there seemed to be a really nice group of regulars gathered there when I went in. Yet, once I got to the counter I felt the need to run back to my car. The place seems really neglected; dirty surfaces in the prep area, open containers sitting around, and those bagels? Sitting pre-cut and drying out in some dirty plastic boxes. There was absolutely nothing appetizing about this place, but I decided to give it a chance. I grabbed my bagel and headed off to work when I noticed a strange smell in my car – I ignored it and rushed off. However, once I got to my destination I realized that it was my bagel that was letting off the strange odor. It was kind of like spoiled milk but much, much stronger and it just turned my stomach. Needless to say, the bagel is now sitting in the garbage can.
