Kahwa Café and Espresso Bar is good. No, it’s certainly not the best coffee I’ve ever had, but that doesn’t stop me from frequenting the café. Kahwa is located on 2nd Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg. Parking near Kahwa on weekdays is generally easy, which helps to make the overall experience an enjoyable one. Inside, the shop has several tables, light background music, and wifi – which makes it a perfect spot for doing computer work. Another«plus» for Kahwa, in my opinion. The coffee shop offers all of the basics – latte, cappuccino, espresso, iced coffee, Americano, etc. They also have dairy alternatives like soy milk and almond milk, which I love! In my experience, the baristas have always been extremely friendly and welcoming, as well. I must say, however, I’ve been to Kahwa 4 or 5 times, and in my experience, the coffee and espresso at Kahwa tends to be rather watery. I love good, strong coffee – and unfortunately, in this case, Kahwa does disappoint. When I am craving strong espresso, chances are, I won’t be heading to Kahwa. Nonetheless, the café also serves food – from fresh sandwiches, to pastries to yogurt and more, making it a great, casual lunch spot, as well. Conveniently located in downtown St. Petersburg, I like Kahwa, and I’ll certainly return – but to me, it just isn’t the«number 1»(or «number 2») coffee shop in Tampa Bay.

First time here but basically the atmosphere is very plain, and as far as getting work done there are very little power outlets, so not great for business. It is a coffee shop though and I love good strong black coffee. This coffee was weak and didn’t taste good… at least today. I’d give one star but the staff seed nice so 2 stars.

Wonderful local coffee shop. Their coffee menu is simple, with some excellent seasonal additions like the iced lavender vanilla latte(highly recommend). Incredibly friendly staff, in a clean, inviting place. The art is beautiful and for sale, too. Breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches look excellent! Would definitely come back if I weren’t in town just for the day.

My favorite latte ever! I get a caramel latte. I would have given Kahwa 5 stars solely based on their espresso but because they frequently mess up my order, I have to give them 4. They need to adopt a different system between the cashier and barista.

Great local coffee shop. Convenient location, quick service, friendly staff and delicious croissants. Coffee was fresh but had to wait abit since it was too hot. Indoor and outdoor seating available. This place is addictive.

This is my regular spot in St. Petersburg. Quality coffee(with 50 cent refills) and great tea. Friendly barristas and good service. Some of the baked goods, while very good tend to border on the pricey side. Overall, a damn good place.

I am a coffee enthusiast, I don’t do cream, sugar, milk, foam. For me, it’s beans and water in various combinations. Kawa house coffee is good(3 outta 5) with a velvety texture which will be ruined if you get it in a to-go paper cup. Their espresso is much better and I’d recommend an americano over their regular cuppa offerings. for me: #1 Espresso #2 Americano #3 Non-house/usually organic(hit or miss) #4 a Black Eye if they will do it #5 house coffee

First time here, disappointed at the coffee and it’s presentation. Nothing special about the coffee I tried their latte didn’t find it special. When I travel I like to try different coffee places so had to come here since I saw so many locations in the west of Florida. Place is not that clean I saw crumbs every where on the Floor. Chairs not very comfortable but the couch is. There is plenty of space if you needed a place to study. Prices are high and they don’t list them on their wall. On the overall ok.

Fast. Friendly. Delicious. I enjoyed a wonderful leisure cup of iced cappuccino while people watching outside. The hubs enjoyed an excellent hot vanilla latte as well. On my next visit I hope to enjoy one of the yummy looking lunch offerings.

LOVED the coffee here! It was different with a real cocoa chocolate taste to it. The sandwiches were tasty as well. I loved that they were perfectly toasted on a baguette. YUM!

Its a small warehouse feeling coffee shop, with high ceilings and white washed walls. But somehow there’s still a homey feeling to it. Maybe its the friendliness of the baristas, or the way they present my coffee to me. Cup of steaming coffee, lid off, soy milk on the side to pour at my discretion, and a spoon carefully perched on a saucer for stirring. Its a nice touch — and a far cry from Starbucks-go get your own wooden stirrer and mix next to the trashcan. I also tried the turkey and arugula panini. Fairly priced, good size, and extra crispy! Nothing too crazy about the food here but definitely satisfying. The large tables are perfect for studying. Only negative — not enough outlets! This is only a couple blocks from USFSP so I’ll definitely be back :) Bonus: their music selection rocks! Oldies and Motown make awesome study music!

Stopped in here in my way to the Saturday market. Such a comfy space! Awesome baristas that actually know about coffee! Yay! Had their tasty pumpkin spiced latte… It was divine… A nice companion on my stroll around the market. You’ve definitely gotta check this place out.

I generally prefer local coffee shops to Starbucks, but think this place is especially exceptional. The coffee is delicious, service is fast(well, for Florida anyway) and they display/sell the artwork of local artists. Food menu is small but always fresh. Obsessed with the chickpea salad and the morning muffin is another fave. I prefer this location to the one on the corner of 2nd st. N. and 5th ave N. It is more conveniently located and serves food, which the N location does not. Additional tip: Download their app for speed at checkout and additional saving.

One of my friends that we were traveling with is a vegetarian and we came here because they had a pretty decent selection of food items he could eat. I tried a piece of his croissant sandwich and it was divine! The croissant was really fresh and delicious and accompanied with coconut milk hot chocolate it was total bliss! Service was good too.

I really tried to love this café but every time I come here, I never seem to get a friendly welcome feel. I felt rushed to order and staff never really greets you. Just take your order with a grumpy facial expression. No thank you or good bye. Coffee art was on the ok side as well. A quick heart and thats it. At least give the coffee art some loving.

This place is where the locals go for coffee. I love their lattes. Pretty designs in the foam make my Java not only yummy, but also special. Pastries are also something that one must try. Baked fresh daily. My husband’s favorite is almond croissant while mine is pan de chocolate. Inside and outside seating. Dog friendly, but they can’t come inside. I love that they are always displaying local artists’ work.
