We stayed at the Sirata this pass weekend for my cousins wedding. We had breakfast down at the Compass Grille every day of our stay(Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon) and the only meal I was meh about was the omelet I ordered but everything else was well prepared. Erin was our server and she was great. We always had a table of 8 plus and she was on top of her game-even with all the orders.

I ate breakfast there three different times. The meals I had were eggs, waffles and French toast. The food was actually quite good although a tad expensive. The first two times I visited I had a waitress named Erin. She was one of the top waitresses I have ever had. Always had a smile, kept my coffee and water filled and offered her thoughts on the menu. She really made the meal enjoyable and made the customer wanting to return. If I only had her I would have rated restaurant 4 or 4.5 stars. Unfortunately I had Shawn(a woman) the last day and she was total opposite of Erin. She did not talk and never stopped by asking if you needed anything. I had to chase her down to get more coffee or water. I had actually thought of asking if I had pissed her off in some way. One of the worst servers I have ever had. My advice is to go there and request Erin.

Probably best service I got in a long time. Food was very good. Ordered the st louis ribs. Funny thing I live close to st louis and it was better than any ribs I ever had. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. I will come back again.

In the Sirata resort but plenty of parking if coming from anywhere else-because if you are hungry, especially for breakfast, you will not be disappointed! Large menu with plenty of variety and honestly the best grits I have ever had. Good crispy waffles, nice selection of egg and omelette dishes and of course French toast and pancakes. EVEN granola, soy milk and fruit! Prices are comparable for breakfast anywhere and great coffee and did I mention the AWESOME service? You will be asked if you would like a to –go cup of coffee at the end of your meal. Very soothing, shady interior– no beach view, but sometimes you just gotta get away!

Came on a Saturday with my cousin because she’s been raving for months. It was not busy despite the fact that it was 6pm. We figured it was because it was time for sunset and there really isn’t a view of it from the restaurant. And we were right! Once it got dark, it did fill up. My cousin recommended that we get the chicken lollipops as an appetizer so I ordered them thinking we’d share. I was shocked when my skinny cuz said, «make it two»! I soon found out why! They were delicious! I wanted to lick the plate! The service was outstanding and so was my meal. I got the special which was grouper stuffed with lobster and soft shell crab! I was already full but couldn’t stop until it was all gone!

Really a disappointment. My slider bun was the biggest part of the slider. The slice of grouper was so small it wasn’t even discernible. The upside down pickles and cajun tarter sauce were the stars of the dish. I wouldn’t go back, there are much better options elsewhere. Oh, the worst part is our waitress hit my fiancé in the back of the head with the huge tray of food and was completely oblivious about it… or was she?

We came in and a lady in a pantsuit(manager?) was in the middle of scolding her hostess. I stood there, a foot away from them waiting to be greeted until my SO pulled me away to not be awkward. A few moments later the lambasting concluded, manager stormed off, and hostess greeted us. What the heck was that all about? Anyway, I was a little shocked when the hostess told us it’d be 15 minute wait, despite it being nearly-empty, and recommended we wait at the bar.(Obviously a strategy to try and extract a few pre-meal drinks out of their patrons) Eventually we were seated and chowed down. I had the Grouper, the ball-N-chain had the salmon — both were delicious. The salad, tho, was iceberg lettuce, soft tomatoes — amateur hour. Everything was served on square plates, and like Jon Taffer says, that’s an easy way to jack up the price. I’d eat here again. Disclaimer: despite being a 6’5″ 235 hulk that eats like Slimer, I can’t really boast an understanding of fine dining like others and can’t really comment on if it was re-heated frozen food — as suggested by other Unilocalers. It filled my Viking veins with Nordic hemoglobin and that’s whats important darn it!!! *punches wall”

This is probably one of the worst places I have been for service and for food. The NY strip/shrimp was horrible and the rest of the plater was cold veggies and burnt potatoes. NOT worth the price or convenience. There are so many other options like GIGIS Italian for good steak and pasta plus I couldn’t get past the TWO roaches on the wall here. They dropped multiple glasses and kept going on about their runs and left glass shards everywhere for people to step in. Very over priced and the staff was all a bit off and pushy for us to get out. Please look else where

This restaurant was part of the Sirata Beach Resort I stayed at for a wedding. We received some drink offers so we headed down. We arrived in time for happy hour and ordered a margarita and a glass of wine. We checked out the menu and were slightly shocked by the prices, but hey, it is at a resort type place so that can be assumed. I ordered the coconut shrimp and my husband ordered a club sandwich. The 6 measly shrimp came out gallantly attempting to make the best out of the wilted lettuce presentation they came out on. They were ok but again, there were 6 of them. 6 tiny coconut coated shrimp which tasted an awful lot like the coconut shrimp you can buy frozen at the grocery store. They were an appetizer portion but the price for those babies was out of control. My husband’s food was so-so, not bad but not good. The bill came and none of our drinks were priced according to the happy hour specials however, the service was so slow the entire time we were there than we just paid and ran out to enjoy the sunshine as quickly as we could. I wish I ventured off of the Sirata campus to get a more reasonably priced, better tasting, better priced meal.

I’m so glad we stumbled on to this restaurant. I had the chicken curry penne. Although on the menu it’s offered with shrimp and as a vegetarian meal, I had them make it with chicken and it was fantastic. I had it made spicy. Great flavor and not too overpowering. Our server Amber was fantastic. She was very helpful and made suggestions about the food and drinks that we took. Our dinner was fantastic. The atmosphere was ok, a bit closed in dud to columns but some folks might like the semi privacy. A real gem of a place on the beach.

The seared scallops and Ahi tuna were delicious! But the highlight of our evening was the Grouper with capers and garlic.

Came here by myself, sat at the bar, and service was terrible. Bartender is brand new and very overwhelmed and nervous but seriously? She forgot to put my order in… Had the bruschetta appetizer… Bread was warm but tomatoes were freezing cold. Was just weird. Ordered cheesecake to go… Will see how that goes. I would not come back honestly… been here over an hour for a crappy appetizer, cheesecake to go and water.

We loved the food here and atmosphere was cool. Enjoyed the food so much we decided to eat here twice this week. Tonight’s dinner was just as good if not better than the first night. Only disappointment was that the first night we got bread with olive oil dipping sauce and did not get it this time.

Ordered bacon pancakes and oatmeal. The oatmeal came plain with no brown sugar, raisins or milk. We did get milk and brown sugar. Service was cordial. Wait time seemed long for sparse breakfast crowd. I was expecting a larger glass of juice for 4.50. Food was fine. It’s a pricey hotel restaurant.

This is a diner review — Giving this place 2-stars, and being generous. 8pm diner on a Tuesday night, you wold expect a place that prices itself as a «nicer» restaurant would have a few more people in it. Unfortunately, this place was empty. And for an empty restaurant, you would hope for a better table, but I was seated right next to the kitchen entrance and a bus boy station. The service was lackluster, even for an empty restaurant. But let’s get to the food… Ordered the Filet with the mushroom duxelle with a Caesar salad. The salad was dry with very little dressing. Worst of all was that the salad was very brown and wilted. Unappetizing. Now, for the filet… it’s a filet! You don’t cut a filet open and stuff the center with mushroom duxelle! It was the worst tasting flavor combination ever. For a $ 30 steak, it was almost inedible. the only saving grace of the entire diner plate was the mushrooms and wine sauce. I’ve had better food at McDonalds. If you are staying at Sirata or are in St. Pete Beach looking for a nice diner, look elsewhere before trying Compass Grille. Your wallet and tastebuds will thank you.

This is a breakfast review– Only giving it 2 stars because the servers were nice– not their fault the food tastes like nothing. Literally no taste at all. I had eggs bennies– I had no idea you could make flavorless hollandaise, but you CAN! Hubby had the Sirata sandwich with ham– he said the same thing– no taste at all– used pepper which he never does and ate it only because he was starving. We’re staying at the Sirata and were hoping the food would be good so we wouldn’t have to leave the property to eat, but sadly that’s not possible. On the upside, we’re discovering great places in the area! For breakfast check out the Frog Pond. Dinner go to Sea Critters. Bad names with good food.

Four stars. Strictly because my country fried steak was fantastic. One of the best I’ve had. Juicy, not dried out. Great sausage gravy. Coffee was good. Service was great. Come expecting average food. Nothing super special about this place but it’s a nice average spot.

We were able to try Compass grille while having breakfast and staying at the Sirata, which is where it’s located at. The breakfast buffet was decently priced under $ 15 with a variety of fresh fruits, oatmeal, grits, bacon, eggs and also an omlet station. The Omlet chef was SO nice and made our food to order and then bringing it to our table. We’d go here again should we stay at the Sirata again.
