Messy Giuseppe

I enjoyed their Piadina today — a grilled flatbread sandwich with fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and basil, and a balsamic glaze. It was $ 7 which isn’t a bad price, but I would have preferred another protien on there! Maybe adding chicken for an additional dollar to rwo? Service was fast and the sandwich was delicious!

I had my first Messy Giuseppe today. It’s basically an Italian sloppy Joe. But it’s much more well thought out than just ground beef with Manwich. I could taste and count the different flavors in there. Onions, peppers, tomato, garlic, and some sort of red wine also. Toasted bun. I was very happy with it. I could tell they took great pride in their product. Service was fast and very friendly. My only criticism would be the price. $ 6 seems a bit steep. However, this seems to be the going rate at food trucks now. I would definitely try it again.

Messy’s was over at Pour Decisions Brewing and after a pint I was feeling pretty hungry. While I didn’t want something huge, I needed a soaker. The Ultimate Grilled Cheese was perfect. I was surprised by the use of honey on it. It added the needed sweetness that grilled cheese sandwiches are usually missing. I also tired some of the Italian beef. It was good, but not great for the price of $ 9. Perhaps if it came with a side, then it might be worth it.
In short, I would recommend the grilled cheese. You can’t go wrong with it.

Messy Giuseppe is a food truck I found parked across the street from the St Paul Hotel on 5÷29÷2012. I had high ambitions for this however my hopes were dashed upon trying my food. I ordered their Italian Beef with mild vegetables and was very dismayed at what I got. The roll that was used for the sandwich was stale, not a crunchy stale but a rubbery stale. The beef tasted fine and the vegetables, though an odd combination were fine too. The sandwich was soaked in olive oil but not even that could bring any life to the sandwich. For the $ 8 price, I would not do this one again. I have three coworkers who tried their Messy Giuseppe sandwich and had a better experience but alas they did not share so my experience is based on the Italian Beef alone.
