Slow, rude service. Inattentive staff. Overpriced drinks and food. A dive bar disguised as something nicer. Save your money and go somewhere else. Food is disgusting too. Steak and cheese has nacho cheese on it. Expensive gross food and slow service.

Didn’t have the first two choices of beers that I actually wanted, but were still on the menu. We ordered hot wings but they sent out a different flavor. Waiter was impatient and it wasn’t even that busy. Will not go back ever.

Always have had attentive & quick service. LOVE the Shrimp Cocktail here because always cold & larger shrimp. They also serve Ciroc vodka for a gluten free choice. Live music after most events and Hockey games. Always a great place to people watch… Nice deck & patio options as well during warmer months. Can’t beat the location across from the Xcel! Go early if before a hockey game as it fills up quick!

Never buy a Groupon or LivingSocial deal here. They will not honor it and claim it doesn’t apply on «event days» even though there is nothing in the fine print ANYWHERE that says that. They all shrug and say I should have known that event days are different. Tell me when there isn’t some kind of «event» at the X? Terrible.

Great service and a great location! The servers are great and the bartenders treated us like family. It’s also right across the street from the Xcel center which makes it a great place to go before an event. Emily the bartender is the best. Go to Eagle Street if you’re in St. Paul!

Awesome place! Finally able to go during a time it wasn’t packed nuts to butts after a Wild game. Plenty of cozy spots to sit and good food. The rub dinner is a good one to share with somebody. Their beer list is kinda lacking… no porter or brown ales… but I like Coors, so no complaints here :)

Had a table by the kitchen, big mistake. The kitchen was extremely busy and unsanitary. No one wore gloves, food set under the light for a long time. The food was out in the open where customers were walking by. It was gross to watch. My grilled cheese was cold.

Don’t get the jerk chicken wings. It’s basic wings with really generic sauce that nowhere near resembles jerk chicken or anything the least bit flavorful. Disappointing.

The bouncer tonight told me that he would knock me the fuck out for trying to bring my EMPTY cup from the wild game into the bar. This is not a bar that I would ever try to give my money ever again to.

Came here with my boyfriend before a Wild game. The service was quick and attentive. We got the Irish nacho appetizer and it was delicious. We also each got burgers and fries, unsure of the names, and those too were wonderful. I highly recommend the Tin Whiskers wheat stone beer. The flavors are so unique. We will definitely be coming here again. I recommend coming around 3pm before a Wild game to get a good spot at the bar, it got extremely crowded around 4 – 4:30.

Disappointing. The salad was bland but the Walleye sandwich was good. The service was very slow and it didn’t appear busy. The menu is very difficult to order from as practically everything has a title unrelated to the item. This means you’re reading 80 descriptions just to find what you want. Clever but frustrating in practice.

Best bar staff. Jessica took great care of us during a happy hour meet up and recommended the tin whiskers beer that was so tasty! Good parking despite dumb construction

Popping in to this themed sports bar I had just beat the rush by about ten minutes. The wait staff was standing around waiting for the rush so i was attended to immediately and ordered from the large selection of tap beers, many of which are local which impressed me. The spicy grilled chicken sandwich known as Black Mail in keeping with the days of St. Paul’s mob scene was very spicy so I had to have another craft beer to wash it down and ease the spice, a good excuse if you have someone counting your brews for you which I did not. The service was always prompt and when the rush started servers were flying in every direction, evidently the management must be aware of Unilocal reviews complaining about service as my server apologized twice even though I didn’t see a need to. This looks to be fun lively spot with a sports event or not even though it’s a tad expensive but still more of a bargain than similar places in Chicago or Seattle.

I’ve been here multiple times and am just now writing a review. The location and atmosphere is top-notch. The patio is always lovely in the warmer seasons and this is the place to go before any Wild games or concerts at the Excel Energy Center. Now, onto the food; mediocre if best. It is your typical bar food which seems to me to be overpriced. It is a hit or miss with servers. I’ve had a really great server, a grumpy server, and a server who had no idea what they were doing. I usually come to Eagle Street just for a cold beer before an event, I’ll eat at home.

Visited this restaurant before a concert. My friends and I had sat down and literally 5 seconds later, the waitress came over to take our drink order. That’s fantastic except for my ass had barely hit the booth and she was impatiently tapping her foot waiting for drink orders. Their flip flop moscato is good if you like sweet wine. Potstickers for apps were fantastic! We had burgers and I can’t say they were anything special. The Lamb burger, the burger with the egg, and the burger with pepper jack cheese. They weren’t worth me remembering the names but I believe there was a Lincoln. Hit the spot if it’s the closest thing near you.

Came here for a late lunch after attending The 38th Annual Saintly City Cat Club Championship Cat Show. I wasn’t starving so I ordered an appetizer and a root beer. After trying to look over their very busy, hard to read menu with too many choices– I settled on jerk flavored chicken bone-in wings. Damn! Those were some awesome wings! Very flavorful. Smoky tasting. Just plain delicious. The wings were meaty too. It came with your choice of bleu cheese or ranch dressing. I always opt for bleu cheese. Also, on the plate was a nice amount of celery PLUS carrots! I ate all eight wings. I probably could have eaten more. My hands were a mess. I asked the nice waitress for a couple wetnaps. She said sure she would bring me one. Did she hear me? I politely asked for two. She ended up bringing me just one wetnap. I asked for another one even though I didn’t want to. My hands were a mess and I didn’t feel like walking to the restroom to wash them. I like Eagle Street. I don’t get out to St. Paul very often. I’m a Minneapolis kinda girl. But you can bet after The 39th Annual Saintly City Cat Club Championship Cat Show, I will be back at Eagle Street enjoying another late lunch.

I had always wondered about this ‘good looking’ place on the corner, by the Excel. Despite some reviews I should have listened to, we went for dinner after a great day at the Science Museum of Minnesota. The restaurant is a very attractive place that preserves the old St. Paul warehouse feel with a modern, rural twist(and many neon lights and TV’s to disrupt that, but to be expected located across from a sports/concert venue). With 4 rooms to choose from, it was easy to find a seat!(We, unfortunately for my service background, chose a spot by the open kitchen line.) The beer list will not blow your mind, but has good(local, for the MSP visitors) choices even for the snob like me! The menu is overwhelmingly large. I mean, grab-a-drink-or-two-while-you-read-it large. So, you will not have a problem finding something to satisfy your palate(just choosing what that will be). The food is American+(American, Italian American, Mexican American, you get the idea). Our service was acceptable, but filled with 30-year-old angst. Our jalapeño cheese curds with chipotle ranch were amazing! My hot Italian sandwich(which I saw sitting on the kitchen line for 10+ minutes) came out cold and soggy along with the walleye sandwich we had at our table. Also, the burger was over-cooked. We received a mediocre apology paired with a comped beer and sandwich. Despite the apology and compensation that satisfied my immediate need, I will probably not be back in the near future. When they reduce their menu and focus on quality instead of quantity I may give it another shot.

OK… Had some issues here: Dust/gunk was falling from the ceiling down onto our drinks and food Water was dripping from celling from above. Food was«meh» at best. But didn’t eat a lot after seeing droppings from ceiling. the live music was SO loud you could not scream at the person 1 foot from you and have them hear you. Only reason this place is busy is location to excel and games. They need to CLEAN the venting and ceilings before getting someone sick. Are you a bar/restaurant or concert venue? Live music should not be blowing out your ear drums and making so can’t order. Not to mention it wasn’t the best to begin with.

Usually when I am in downtown St. Paul it’s for an event at the X and Eagle Street is packed. Its right across the street from the arena so it makes for a good spot to wet your whistle before entering the arena. The food was good and they have a huge menu. I had the shrimp po’boy with fries. It was good and I would recommend it if you are a fan of spicy food. It was a non-event night and the service was great, we even had two different people checking in on our table to make sure we were ok. I would say if you want to sit and really enjoy this place come when there isn’t an event going on at the X.
