If your in town you have to see the new compass fountain. My grandkids love playing in it and seeing and riding the carousel

This is a great little fountain for kids to play and adults to sit around and watch the kids play. The fountain itself is pretty large and I’d say about 60 – 70 feet across. All of the jets are hidden on a flat surface so it’s not like people have to step over walls and jump around sprinkler heads to keep from tripping or access the water. The water shoots out from the ground as well as several large fire hose looking towers along the edges of the compass. The settings rotate around so that the kids won’t get too bored with getting blasted with water from one direction only.

Soooo fun! Bring your swimsuits and come play! Such a fun addition. Two things needed to get a 5 star review: 1) Some benches with umbrella shading 2) Someone staffing the fountain to address some of the kids who ahem… sit on the fountains… hogging them. It is quite strange to have to wait for a few minutes for your kid to play because all the fountains are busy with kids having the water shoot up their trunks… what’s with this?

This 200 ft. diameter fountain will surely bring youthful giggles out of the heart of even the oldest visitors. Powered by 28 water jets and 8 water cannons, this completely interactive fountain pumps over 780 gallons of water a minute into the air and it’s 150 ft. splash pad. My family and I wanted a nice way to cool off after the extremely hot 4th of July weekend, and decided to go down on Monday evening, when tourist levels would be at their lowest. It paid off well, as the fountain wasn’t too crowded and we were able to run among the water jets, and marvel at the rainbows produced by the 8 large water cannons. With the Silver Beach carousel and a fantastic gourmet pizza place right next door, a trip to the fountain would make a great afternoon or evening for a family looking to stay cool in the summer. Make sure to bring your blankets, and some footwear as the area surrounding the fountain is grassy and sandy, with sidewalks. No outdoor showers are available to clean off feet, and our feet did get incredibly dirty after leaving the fountain to dry off, but nothing a good pair of flip flops or beach shoes couldn’t fix.
