Simple, straight forward wine tasting. The hosts don’t go out of their ways to chat with you, their introductions of their wines were minimal unless you ask them. The wines themselves were aiiiiight, very much on the lighter side.

We had passed Whitehall Lane a couple of times during our trip and liked the look of it so we stopped on our last day for a tasting, which we shared. The reserve cab tasting was excellent, and we were even poured two of the same wine but from different vintages for comparison. Fun experience for us. I will say the wines were a little higher priced than we wanted to spend after buying wine for several days prior, but because of how excellent they are, the price is actually very reasonable. Our only negative was that our tasting host was not extremely personable for most of the tasting. He was informative but with very short and precise answers to our questions. However, at the end of our visit he asked about our next stop and ended up referring us to several of his favorites in the area, one of which we tried and loved. He even marked them all on a map for us. I would recommend Whitehall Lane for excellent wines, maybe not for the best tasting experience though.

It’s unfortunate that I have to write a negative review for Whitehall Lane because they produce really outstanding wine. However, I’m compelled to write this due to my recent visit to the Winery this past weekend(Saturday Jan. 16). My wife and I were up in Napa this weekend to pick up some wine that we had purchased at another winery. We told my in-laws that we were going up to Napa and they wanted to come along, so we decided to make a day of it. Knowing that Whitehall Lane closes later than most wineries, we decided Whitehall would be our last stop of the day. My wife had been talking up the Winery to my in-laws all day and we were all looking forward to doing some tasting. We stopped in at ten minutes after 5 pm and the place was packed, which isn’t a big deal. We found a spot at the bar where the 4 of us could post up and do some tasting. Our host, a man wearing a black argyle sweater(we didn’t get his name because he never introduced himself), reluctantly came over and explained what they offered for their tasting. My wife asked about their reserve tasting and he abruptly responded by saying they only offer the reserve tasting prior to 5 pm. We found this unusual because we were there only 6 weeks ago(we came in after 5 pm also) and we were able to do the reserve tasting as well as other wines not on their tasting list. Our host poured the 1st taste and walked away, only coming back to pour the 2nd(and final) taste. He did not engage with us, he did not discuss the wines with us and overall was clearly inconvenienced that we were there. My in-laws purchased a couple bottles of wine and some candles, but my wife and I were so upset by the experience that we decided not to buy anything. Not purchasing wine at a winery during a tasting is unusual for me and my wife. Prior to our visit at Whitehall Lane, we went to 3 other wineries and we bought 8 bottles of wine(1 being a magnum) at those wineries collectively. After we left, I asked my in-laws what they thought about Whitehall Lane and they thought the experience was really unusual. They believed that our host appeared to be put out by our visit to the winery and that the host did not want us there. Altogether, we were only there for approximately 20 minutes… my in-laws receipt shows that they made their wine purchase at 5:29 pm. My wife and I felt bad for taking my in-laws to Whitehall Lane because we’d been raving about the winery all day and our visit resulted in a negative experience. As stated in the beginning of this review, this is really unfortunate because we enjoy their wine. Their Leonardini and Millennium wines are outstanding. Despite the quality of their wine, we will never come back to Whitehall Lane based on our recent experience. I hope their Tasting Room Manager or Sales Manager reads this review. My wife and I have visited Whitehall Lane numerous times and bought countless bottles of wine from them. We’ve even taken friends and family who’ve never been to the Napa Valley to Whitehall Lane. Prior to this visit, we considered cancelling our current membership at another winery and join Whitehall’s wine club instead, but forget it. We’ve check-in here several times, which is usually a good indicator of what a Unilocaler thinks about a place. But after this visit, we will never come back or recommend anyone visit Whitehall Lane.

The wine was really good but Sheila made our experience. She was our last stop on Saturday, and since our previous winery was a bit of a disappointment regarding customer service, she was a refreshingly knowledgeable and enthusiastic hostess. The Yountville Chamber recommended this winery and I understand why. They are friendly, personably and their wine is right on par with quality, especially their Cab. We purchased the dessert wine, however, because it was unusually different. I live in Marin and entertained my family from out of town. It was important that I end on a good note and Whitehall Lane delivered. We will return. Thanks.

Whitehall was the last stop on our day visit to Napa. We chose it mainly because it closed late(5:30) but it was one of the best visits of the day. We used a b1g1 free offer from a wine app that my wife downloaded. The wines were great, the servers were gracious, knowledgeable and generous with the pours. And he gave us some great recos for food. Definitely worth a visit on our next time out to Napa

My wife and I stopped in here for a quick tasting towards the end of the day. Katie did a fantastic job explaining their wines and just chatted with us for awhile. She was very genuine and helpful. Great winery! I would highly suggest stopping through if you have the time.

I’ve must have passed Whitehall Lane Winery so many times on the way to V. Sattui. When wine tasting at Napa Valley, we usually end our day at Domaine Chandon with some bubbly and oysters. For this particular trip, Whitehall Lane was our last stop before dinner. We had a group and our wine tour host was Patrick. They took us to an area behind the tasting room large enough for a group of 10+. We tried 3 whites and 2 reds. Not a big fan of their whites but really liked their reds specifically the 2013 Merlot and 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon. Patrick also took us to an area where they hold their wine barrels. I also got to taste the Leonardini Estate Cab Sauvignon 2012, OMG so smooth. Highly recommend this winery!

Our favorite find this trip to Napa! We picked up the Whitehall Lane Merlot in the grocery store yesterday and were completely surprised by the full and smooth flavor. Today, we made a point to visit the winery. Best. Decision. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the wines were fantastic. We’re «red» wine fans, and didn’t try any«whites» so can’t speak to that. Still walked away with several more of the 2013 Merlot — and a true gem, the 2012 Leonardini Estate Cabernet Savignon. Wow!

Visited this winery on a day tour of Napa Valley. Our guide, Chandler, was very nice and knowledgeable. The property was beautiful and we were able to see the entire process and tastes a bunch of wines. The wines were very good and so was the chocolate wine sauce! We purchased a few bottles and some chocolates to take home.

1 star if any. We called ahead for a ground of 25 people and they said we don’t need a reservation. When has arrived, someone from the winery came out and very rudely told us that we cannot come in, that they were full, and that we should have called earlier. We told them we did and still they said well, too bad. The person was very rude and not accommodating at all. Don’t go here, they aren’t worth it.

We stopped at Whitehall as one of our last winery on our Napa tour, and we were very impressed with the quality and pricing of their wines. We were happy to hear that they distributed some of their wines to NJ, but of course their reserves or special wines are part of their club membership. We did not do a tour, strictly a wine tasting. They did allow us to share a tasting since we were«wined out.» The staff was very kind, knowledgeable, and I would definitely recommend stopping by for a tasting during your travels in the valley. The tasting area is not very big — probably could accommodate up to 10 adults at a time. The overall place is clean and very well designed. No appointments/reservations needed.

I cannot say enough about Whitehall Lane as both a winery and as a great group of people to support. From our guide, all the way to the Vice President of Operations, my group and I were treated like royalty, and from what I observed, that is the way they treat visitors at Whitehall Lane. To start, Chandler, our guide through the Whitehall Collection of wines, was not only knowledgeable when it came to the wines, but knew the story behind each one. While you would expect that from every«pourer», Chandler showed passion, and his passion was infectious. So, on to the tasting! Chandler took us out to the garden where the Chef had prepared a charcuterie plate for our little party that went perfectly with each flight of wine we tasted. The Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Merlot were the perfect way to get the palette ready for the next round. We moved into the gorgeous tasting room for the big boys(wines)! We started with the Zinfandel, and that was a huge surprise! I had never seen a Zinfandel from them, and it is limited in production, but it was fantastic! From what I remember, they source the grapes from Sonoma Coast, and they were just releasing the 2013. Next was the 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It was big, juicy, and well-balanced. Finally, we were treated to the 2012 Leonardini Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a luscious blend of dark fruit, black pepper, and a silky finish. That was the perfect end to a perfect visit. Everyone we met had such pride in the work that they do, and the food and wine they make, that we will make Whitehall a stop every time we go back to Napa. Thank you for everything! Jason

The wines were very good, and the price didn’t break the bank. We loved our tasting guy. He was funny and knowledgeable. We’ve passed by here many times, and we’re really glad we finally stopped in. Can’t wait to get our wine club wines!

First timer here at Napa and wanted to pop in to say hi to tom jr because we met him at a wine tasting in the manor. We were greeted and taken care of by Patrick instead and it was a delight. He really made us feel welcomed and was so informative about everything around the area plus the wines. Highly recommend stopping by while in the area to Whitehall lane

Whitehall winery was the best wine tasting experience i’ve ever had! The grounds are beautiful! Walking into a cool tasting room with windows behind the bar looking into the distillery! It was so neat! Our guide, Pat, was so fun and informative about everything! He took us all around the grounds and we even saw the grapes being unloaded into tanks to start the wine making process! The owner, Tom, was there too! He talked to us about his vineyard and he was tuly a down to earth, family man! He made us feel so welcomed there and really took his time talking to us! They also have a gorgeous private room upstairs w windows overlooking the entire vineyard. We will def be back to try their cooking with wine class upstairs! Would be the perfect bachelorette/girls day out venue! I can’t say enough good things about my experience here!

I initially thought this wine was wonderful and decided to become a club member because I liked the winery. After experiencing a bad customer experience from their account manager, it has left me with an awful taste in my mouth. The account manager DOESNOT respond to any emails unless it’s an order. I have emailed him to use my complementary passes for friends who was visiting Napa and never got a response back. When I recently placed an order, he responded with my order confirmation to ship my wine. I understand that it was shipped because I did not specify that I wanted to pick it up, but after received that email, I quickly responded to the confirmation to let them know that the address was wrong before they sent out the package but it looked like it was ignored and they sent the wine anyways to the wrong address. I called the winery and was left with the impression that they just did not care, that account manager who I emailed said he never received my emails besides my order and said tough luck you have to pay for the shipment which I probably won’t get because it was sent to the wrong address. I forward the guy all my emails to show that I showed my efforts to stop the order and they were just ignored. Cancelled my membership that same day because I did not feel appreciated or respected as a customer.

This was our 3rd winery we visited a little before noon on a Saturday. A Unilocal check-in gave us a 2 for 1 tasting, but was waived after our wine purchase. If I remember correctly, we tried one of the sauvignon blanc, rose, one of the merlot(or cabernet sauvignon?), and the belmuscato. Compared to other wineries, I thought their wines were more sharp than smooth. Although I prefer smooth tasting wines, I still liked the belmuscato and bought 3 bottles(10% off if bought 3). My BIL got 2 bottles of merlot. The 4 stars are based on the winery since it’s hard to judge by the wines(which I think is just personal preference). A guy named Luke helped us and was really welcoming and friendly. He even wanted to know why we didn’t like a certain wine, which showed me that he really cared about making good wine that the customers will love.
