Yet again we were charged for drinks we never ordered. The staff behind the bar look complete dysfunctional! If these people actually gave a damn about their bosses, they wouldn’t be drinking so many shots while working. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen! It’s a shame that the owner’s girlfriend(Shari) treats this bar like it’s her personal closet. The food wasn’t up to par tonight and service was dreadful. Even my drink had something in it.

If you’re looking for a subpar dining experience, terrible service and the same 3 songs on repeat, THISISTHEPLACE! We had the same experience as some of the other reviewers, the food literally gave us the bubble guts and the service left a lot to be desired. I had to look around at one point and make sure that we weren’t at the DMV because that’s how badly they treat you(if you’re not a regular). The place was pretty crowded on Saturday night(which I cannot understand after experiencing the horror) with a mixed-aged crowd from what appeared to be high schoolers to 60 year old women. Some of the bartenders were decent but others acted as though they had no desire to be tipped. If I hear another Journey song or «Friends in Low Places» after this experience I’m fairly certain I’ll suffer from a mild form of PTSD. Stay away.

Their food actually got me a bit sick. Their service was what you’d expect from any place around here.

Had the meatloaf sliders. Food was good. Service was good. Could use a bigger craft beer selection. Hawks game was on. Siren was cool. Warning if you have small children it’s kinda loud. Had a good time.

The service here was horrendous. Our server was Kenady. She took an average of half an hour to bring a round of drinks, and that’s if she remembered our order. Our table was never bussed and was full of empties at all times. There are so many places to choose from in downtown St. Charles, I won’t be back.

Good bar. Patio is great in the summer. Food is typical bar food. I really just come to drink. Lively crowd that lasts till 2am.

Service is consistently awful. Anytime I come on a busy night, guys in my group get their drinks from the bartenders almost immediately while girls wait significantly longer. I went In for lunch today and out server was too busy flirting with a table of businessmen to give us any service whatsoever. We waited about fifteen minutes before the bartender came over to our table and took our order. Five minutes later, the server finally stopped flirting with the table to come see if we were ready to order, when we told her we already ordered, she ran back to the other table before I could ask her for a beer. She had two tables… shouldn’t be that hard to balance. We relocated to the bar and the bartender was really nice.

Horrible service. Went to bar with 2 friends. We ordered a round of shots. Then we decided to order one more round… we got a dirty look from the bar tender, he slid the shot at us and it hit the floor. He accused us of being shit faced and threaded to kick us out. We tried to pay 2x and yet he accused us to not trying to pay because we were blondes according to him and shit faced. We didn’t take the shot n said we don’t need this and left. he remembered us from a time before and we paid yet he acted like a total dick. NEVER going back again. He’s the guy with slicked back hair and tattoos. Total JERK!!!

In a town with a never ending supply of bars and restaurants this one stands above the rest. While lacking in curb appeal once you enter it becomes obvious that focus and attention were placed on the inside not outside. The place is large with more than one room including a covered patio and bar. The food menu is only exceeded by the drink menu. While disguised as just another bar it’s really a casual gourmet restaurant serving some of the best food around.

This place is great for the patio and that it is motorcycle friendly. We love stopping by here in the summer during a ride out on the bikes. However, I can only give Alley 3 stars… Not because of the food. The food is usually good. Love the deviled eggs, chicken cesar wrap, ceviche, wings, never had a bad sandwich or burger… Honestly the chow is pretty good. The menu has a huge variety and there’s something for everyone. Same with the bar menu. But man… The staff… We have frequent issues with service. Often when we sit on the patio, we will get walked past several times and it’ll take 10 – 15 minutes or longer to even get acknowledged… And that’s if it’s NOT busy. You can watch the servers go to 1 table at a time and back to the bar or kitchen. It’s like it causes physical pain to multitask. Now, when we actually get a server, they are typically nice and helpful. Although, some service is just slower than others. And no, it’s not if its busy or not. So it can just be a frustrating experience on the service side of things. No one likes being ignored or waiting that long for your first round. Especially when you can see the plethora of available staff, but they are just not paying attention and/or seemingly just don’t care. And after looking at other reviews… This seems to be a HUGE and reoccurring issue.

The wait staff is NOT attentive and they are RUDE. It apprears they do not work for tips since all the women bartendars have major attitute. Also they serve $ 6 beers in a plastic cup inside when they are not busy because they are too lazy to do the dishes — WTF? I would highly recomend going to other places in St Charles, many to choose from.

The service is great(thanks Katie), Coconut Shrimp was excellent and they have Rootbeer beer! The patio is an excellent place to relax after a long wonderful ride. They have parking for your bike nice and close, the best thing is no one messes with your ride. Alley 64 has an extensive menu along with an Adult Beverage selection to please even the hardest to please. When you are finished with your meal or beverages Saint Charles offers many shops to visit. The Harley/Triumph dealership is only minutes away. Thanks for reading my review, I’m going back to enjoying the Sun and my cold Corona.

I’ve been here a lot when going out to the bars in St. Charles and have always had a good time. My friend wanted to go on a Wednesday night to watch the Hawks game for her birthday. This was the first time I tried the food and wow, was it bad! I got the garlic parmesan wings which were terrible. Usually this is a dry rub but theirs was a sauce. I asked for mild and they were still pretty spicy. It also took so long for the kitchen to make our food that they were ice cold when they got to the table. The fries were cold also, and basic. I think I’ll just stick to the drinks from now on.

The bathrooms are wrecked. I will update this if they clean them. Great Hawks crowd, but we don’t deserve this shit — literally shit.

I really don’t know what draws anybody to hang out here. It’s BORING! Nothing stands out at all. There’s no dance floor and no DJ. I don’t see any reason to go here. The beer is cold and that’s the best part of this place.

My friends and I are semi regulars to Alley 64, we go pretty often for drinks on the weekends or weekday lunches. Last night there was a group of six of us there, including a good friend who is visiting for the weekend from Oregon. When she lived here, it was our tradition to have Saturday girls nights at Alley. With that in mind, I was extremely disappointed by our experience there last night. We went to the back bar, on the side that was empty and waited for Sarah(I believe), the bartender with the long blonde hair, as she served someone then talked to a man behind the counter. I waved her down and she looked at us several times. I was hoping to kick off the night with a round of shots and drinks for my friends. A group of guys planted themselves at the bar next to us and started cracking jokes with and calling Sarah by her name(indicating that they were friends). We let the group of guys and Sarah know that we had been waiting for drinks. When Sarah finally walked over to the end of the bar, she went up to the group of guys and started to take their order. That’s when I said, «Are you kidding me?» We were literally the only other people at the empty bar, so there was no confusion about who was there waiting. Sarah then turned to me and very rudely said«I was going to take their order first and then ask you for yours. So you’re going to wait, but really I don’t have to serve you at all!» At that point we were so frustrated we walked away from her and left Alley. Why wouldn’t she take our order first and then theirs? She only addressed me because I made a comment. Why would we give Sarah the tips and business after she disrespected us? Clearly her friends were a priority. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere. With so much competition in the immediate area to go to, you would think the bartender would have a better attitude. It honestly felt embarrassing to be yelled at like that in front of my friends, and so our Saturday night Alley 64 tradition ended and we saved our money. I’m really disappointed because every previous experience at Alley has been great. It’s a shame that one bartender had a bad attitude and changed our impression of the place. I will be sharing the word with others and recommend that they don’t come here. I wish I could right a better review encompassing all of the great aspects about drinking and eating at Alley, but for now I won’t and don’t plan on returning.

This neighborhood bar is a fun place to hang out and watch a game or meet up with friends, but… Pros: they have good burgers and apps. They are built to be customized(the burgers) and are cooked just as you like. The deviled eggs and beef skewers are tasty and worth the cost. They have a nice selection of draft beers and knowledgeable servers. They have a nice fish fry on Friday and the patio bar is lovely. Cons: can get very loud and very crowded. Forget about MMA nights or holidays like Halloween. It is standing room only. You will wait a looong time for your order. If you don’t like country music, you may want to pass.

I have been to this bar several times before and I have always had a good time. I’ve been in both the winter and the summer. They have a great back patio during the summer. If you’re a fan of being around a lot of people while you’re drinking this is a good place. This past weekend I threw a surprise 25th birthday party for my boyfriend. They have a private party room in the back. They have platters of food you can order than are very moderately priced. I ordered wings, italian beef and potato skins and it was all delicious. They allow an open bar option for parties or you can have all your guests pay for their own drinks. You get a private bar, and a private bartender. We had great service. We brought in decorations for the party and cupcakes, and it was no problem. They also boxed up all the leftover food and sent it home with us. Shannon was the event coordinator I was speaking with and she offered me her email and phone number at the beginning and was incredibly helpful throughout the entire thing. I absolutely recommend this for a private party!

Could have been named«Bowling Alley 64» and it wouldn’t have been far off. This is one huge indoor space. But the crowds show up here, so the space is welcome. Haven’t eaten here much, but the table and bar service is excellent and they’ve upped their beer choice to include several more micro-brews from some of my favorites. A little too big and industrial for my tastes, but nothing to really knock here in terms of a place to grab a bite, a beer and a game on TV.
