I have never had a bad experience here. The jalapeño julep is my guilty pleasure. I love whiskey so I really enjoy that Mojos has a whole wall devoted to their collection. I also highly recommend their sweet potato mash. I can eat it breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, app, or even dessert– I’m obsessed. Other goodies here are their nachos, their salmon, and their Mac and cheese. Yummy bbq but beware if you’re on a diet. Guaranteed you’ll enjoy a meal you have to roll away from(it’s all so filling).

NOTHINGTORAVEABOUT Although filling, the food didn’t blow me away. There’s nothing to really rant or rave about so my 4 stars is because of this really ‘safe’ experience. You can’t dock off points for being good enough. LUNCHWASFILLING There’s an expected variety of dishes including dinner combos, sandwiches, and accompanying sides. There’s lunch specials but the specialty Sandwiches caught our eye. My Smokehouse Chicken(Grilled Breast topped with sautéed Onions, smoked Bacon and Jack & Cheddar Cheese) was filling and stuffed. I needed a fork and knife to eat. Fiancé’s ‘Smitty’(Beef Brisket, Sausage, Cheddar, Mustard, Onion & Pickle) equally good. However each was noticeably missing a smoky flavor. Again – not a deal breaker. Both were good but forgettable. SERVICEANDSURROUNDINGS Good and quirky with its walls decorated with BBQ-themed art. The space appeared larger than other Old City restaurants but not cavernous and empty. The large patio looks great when the weather cooperates. This place is slightly off St. George Street so the tourist flow isn’t as crazy.

First time going there. Loved the food and the service. Laura was an amazing server. She did great at making our first visit, become our continuous reason to return. The dry rub ribs were great. My wife adored the 2 meat combination she had. The mac and cheese, green beans and baked beans were great. Once again, great food and Laura was AMAZING!!! GOCHECKTHISPLACEOUT! !!!

Choose the KC burnt ends… it’s a great way to start. A must have at this stop. The pulled pork quesadillas are full of flavor. Try the fried pickles with the buttermilk ranch. The two meat combo is awesome. Go heavy with the Mac and cheeses. The pulled pork sandwich is a staple. Catfish is a tasty alternative for some. The Brunswick stew is sweet and saucy. The BBQ pit beans is a nice side. Very open inside.

Had a tasty meal here while touring the oldest city. Who would’ve thought they would have a BBQ joint in this charming old town. Two of us had the two meat combo each and the burnt ends to start. Burnt ends were good, we got a lot of pieces with fat on it, I loved it but my SO didn’t. The flavor was so good on these. Every combo comes with your choice of two sides. Here’s the breakdown: Pork shoulder: Skip it. Not sure why it’s one of the top three highlights. No flavor and the texture was too slimy. Dry rub ribs: Delicious, didn’t try it with BBQ sauce(the horror — I know), but they were amazingly charred and packed with flavor. Hot links: So underrated, these were so amazing. Not that spicy for those who can’t take spicy food. Half chicken: great dry rub on there and delicious juicy chicken. Mac and cheese was tasty and creamy and the fries were awesome. You can tell they’re double fried, they were so crispy. I had the painkiller cocktail and loved every sip. Coconut lovers: this is your drink. It was pretty strong too. This place was a homerun for me. Check it out!

Found this place on the Nights of Lights tour the day after Christmas. Which, btw is known as Hell Week by locals to St Augustine during this time. All in all it’s a good time with a lot of pedestrian politeness exercised. The aroma emitting from this place is amazing, maybe too amazing! At first entrance you pass thru a courtyard with wrought iron tables perfect for those fall evenings. A few steps up and you’re in the lobby with the bar to your right and wide open seating area which got quite noisy at times. We opted for the two meat combo and the starter of fried pickles. We chose the brisket, turkey and Texas hot link along with sweet potato mash, green beans, macaroni & cheese, Texas toast and jalapeño cornbread. All of which after spending the day walking the streets of this historical city had created quite the appetite. This is where we take a turn for the rocky shore of disappointment. The plates arrive with two medium sized bowls of our side dishes once removed masking the two… yes TWO of the thinnest slices of brisket and turkey for her, brisket and 1 small hot link for me. Not too mention the temperature was near room temp if not a tad closer to cool. The green beans were rubbery and tasted like they had been microwaved. The sweet potato mash was good but tasted more like mushy candy. The cornbread was dry and lacked the jalapeño flavor I was expecting. For $ 17 a plate I expect to be a bit more wowed if you will. Not deceived by large side dishes hiding the lack of your craft… SMOKEDMEATS!!! This is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to bbq joints. Sorry but this experience has put them on my must miss list.

It was a little chaotically and we had about a 20 minute wait a little after 2 p.m. Our server seemed a little spaced out. He took our drink order and disappeared for a while. When he returned head a tray full of drinks so he must have been combining tables. We heard the portions are huge so we ordered appetizers of chicken wings and onion rings. We got chicken wings and burnt tips. The server admitted he must of put the order in wrong. At this point we didn’t care and took the burnt tips. Both were delicious but we thought the sauces were weak. Four sauces are at the table. We would have liked something spicer and maybe if we had asked there would have been something available. We would come back here again with a bigger appetite! The meat was delicious.

We came on a crowded day between Christmas and New Years — the busiest time in St. Augustine. The restaurant was packed, yet they helped us get a table for 11 people very quickly. Our server took the time to make sure everything was as we had wanted and kept our drinks full. The food was great — I had the Mojo salad and it was huge! Easily two meals for me. My daughter loved her hamburger and my son inhaled his hot dog in two minutes claiming it was the best ever! When we go back I’d order the chicken nachos — they looked great!

Great service and good food. The venue itself is pretty extensive. There’s tons of seating both indoor and out. You definitely get a family oriented/family friendly vibe from this place. We came as a group of six and service all around was great. The server was really mindful of the fact that we were dining with kids so made sure their order came out first before ours. He also checked up on us several times in between our meal to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I ended up ordering the blackened mahi sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich itself was delicious… the filets were meaty, fresh and packed with tons of flavor. The onion rings, however, fell relatively flat. They were massive in size but really sub par in flavor. I wouldn’t order these again. I didn’t try any of the actual BBQ so I don’t have a lot to contribute to those items on the menu, but if you’re craving a delicious fish sandwich… this is your place.

Pretty tasty! The reuben was decent, but the really special thing here that you can’t miss out on is the breaded onion rings. I didn’t think I liked that style, but they are very great here. Dip your onion rings into the different types of sauces!

Good, solid BBQ, especially for a tourist place. The place is huge, they have a bar area separate from the dining area. You can get happy hour drinks even if you are in the dining area. The $ 6 Hurricane was amazing, according to hubby. Ask them for the HH menu if you’re seated at that time. Between the two of us we had sliced brisket/rubbed ribs and a chopped brisket sandwich plate. Our sides were mashed reds with a white pepper gravy, collard greens, jalapeño corn bread and baked beans, all sides very tasty. We just felt the brisket –both chopped and sliced– had a little too much fat, however all the meat was very tender and tasty. Our server Jess was wonderful and fast. She comped us a half onion ring order for forgetting to include it in the original order – those were very special– she was very professional and refreshingly friendly, shout out to her. Good stuff.
