Decent place, went to have a couple drinks and watch the one man band perform. The music was good but there was barely any seating inside. They do have outside seating but you won’t be able to appreciate the singer. Squeezed into a crowded area and had seats, and we ordered nachos and beers. The nachos seem plain and homemade, but it came with olives so that’s a plus. The beers were cold. Overall it’s just a good place to have a beer and enjoy some music. By the way, it’s across the street from Castillo De San Marcos and it is very spooky, eerie, and definitely scary walking past this haunted fort at night.

The Milltop has been torn down, to be replaced with a new building, late Fall, 2016. The bar may return in the next building along with shops. The old mill water wheel has been saved.

Three stars based on great location. Great place to have a few drinks and look out over the ocean and fort. Awesome ambiance at night with lights hanging from the large oak trees winding around the wooden deck. I would avoid the food.

Coming on a slow day, I got a great area to sit next to the music and close to the bar. We sat down and immediately had great service. The waiter was informative and helpful with questions. I came because I looked up happy hours in the area, and wanted a quick drink. Didn’t realize the history behind the building, or that it overlooked the fort and water! Very cool. They have not one but TWO happy hours, which is unheard of to a tourist area. Monday — Friday it’s 5 – 730,1 $ off drafts and wines(and something else but I can’t remember it at the moment). They don’t have a huge selection but it’s fun and didn’t think it was possible to get a huge beer for 6 $ in St. Augustine. Crazy! I had already eaten so only got some garlic bread to munch on and that was great and buttery(have to squeeze some extra calories somehow). We hung out longer than expected because we stayed to listen to the band play, and they even said they’d take some requests. It wasn’t too loud, which is how we ended up at this bar, from leaving another. Seeing a lot of bad reviews here is just so weird because I feel that if you overlooked some things, and just wanted to have a great time with friends or family and have a drink, this is probably the best place to go. Would definitely go back when I’m in town again, and bring more friends.

Service was good. Food was terrible. Absolutely terrible. French fries were the biggest letdown, they came out stale and lukewarm. The tables were gross and were super sticky! I’m sad that we waisted our time and money on this place, I’m sure there are other restaurants in the area that would be better so look before you decide!

Nice music. Cheap food. If you want wine be prepared to drink from a shot glass. Much better quality places nearby. It was my first time to this place and I would ot recomend. I mean how does one mess up a cheeseburger. McDonald’s would have had more taste. What a let down.

I ate lunch here with my wife on Christmas Eve. The food and service was fair but not great. Our waitress was either overwhelmed or just bothered that she had to work. They had live music which I enjoyed.

Service was really rude here and the food was sub par. Sure it looks cool, but you can find better places in St. Augustine than this place.

This place has a really nice feel to it. We finished our ghost tour and the live music is what brought us in. We climbed some stars and the place is on the second floor. It is partially covered and partially uncovered. The uncovered part looks out to the water which is really nice. The music was great! The guy that was playing was really talented. We got a beer and a taco salad. The taco salad was really disappointing. I would not order it again. If I came back I would probably just order drinks and relax.

Milltop really blows. The only reason I refrain from a one star is the great location. The service? Always super unprofessional and unfriendly. The food? You’d be better off going to Steak ‘n Shake or McDonald’s. The beer is okay since the Milltop has no influence on the taste of it, but priced terribly as is to be expected in a tourist trap. Don’t waste your time here.

A waitress was rude and unprofessional. We opened a window because it was hot and she rudely came and shut it. She caused this establishment to lose out on easily $ 150 or more and her coworker to lose out on at least $ 100 in tips. We are a party of 10. The manager was not interested in our complaint either and made no effort to apologize for her behavior.

This place was absolutely what my best friend and I were looking for during a mid-day stroll through St. George Street. We wanted a cold beer and something to munch on, but we got more than that. Awesome customer service. You sit on the Milltop with beautiful views of the Fort and the San Marcos Castle. You can relax, feel the breeze, enjoy the view and their atmosphere. Will definitely go back!

Very fast service. Helpful staff. Good drinks! The music was wonderful — they had a singer/guitar player who was not too loud even though he was 10 feet away! Open air & you can see the old fort on the bay-loved it!

I’ve been coming here for years to meet up with friends for cold beer, good food and live music. Who doesn’t want to be tree level with a fun, chillaxing atmosphere in downtown St. Augustine with a beer in hand? I have to agree with everything Morgan H. has to say about this place. And the service is usually friendly and efficient. It’s usually the landmark we decide to meet up at and it’s always a grand, high time. I totally recommend. :)

We stopped to eat at this local restaurant because it was on the rooftop. The weather was perfect. They had 80’s music and live one-man band. 80s music I did not mind… But I could’ve done with out the one-man band. His music was outdated. The food: I ordered the Black Bean Burger with bag of chips. The burger had great taste. I was disappointed with the chips. They were tortilla chips! Silly me for expecting potato chips. My daughter ordered wings with ranch, blue cheese and barbecue sauce. You know kids can’t make up their minds. The wings looked and tasted great. The surprise came later when the check came and saw I was charged .50 for two of the sides. I didn’t mind paying but would’ve been nice if our server gave me the heads up of the extra charges. Overall, loved the atmosphere but will try other places when visiting St. Augustine.

We stopped by for some drinks. Sitting upstairs in the open area is great. You can oversee the fort and while we were staying we had live music. So instead of just getting 1 beer we stayed for several more as the atmosphere was so relaxing. By the way, the service was great, too.

Stopped in for a drink during our afternoon tour of St. Augustine and were impressed with the nachos and atmosphere! Live music, great patio, almost all outdoor. Would like to come back for the nightlife sometime, as my boyfriend says«if you have to put up a sign on the trees that says ‘please no tree climbing’ you know this place has a heck of a nightlife»!

While taking a trip to Saint Augustine, we walked around the shops and the smell coming from this restaurant was amazing. Us girls decided to have lunch here. It was not a disappointment. They had a live band playing, we received our food in less then 15 mins. The only reason this wasn’t a five was because I ordered a mixed drink and there was ants in the drink. It’s Florida, that is going to happen, but it was right on the top so it shouldn’t have been missed. However, she corrected it right away, no big deal.

What’s not to like about a place that offers outside seating, live music, a great view of the fort and the water and some pretty good food and drinks. I wouldn’t say that they are serving up anything spectacular but what I have had there has been pretty good… the black bean nachos are delicious. Really I’m just there for the atmosphere and Milltop does not disappoint.
