So we are sitting here at Twiggs. This place is great! We just got into town for a wedding on Saturday and wanted our usual wings and beers we get on Fridays back home in CT. Kathleen at the front desk of the Cadillac Motel suggested Twiggs. It was a very short drive from the motel. It was crowded cuz they had a small band but we got right in. Our waitress was amazing. The food was excellent and plentiful. I’m so glad we came.

Good food. French onion soup portion small for the price. Nice salad. Good honey mustard dressing. Awesome burger with great taste. Delicious fries.

Most days I’m pretty forgiving but not tonight. I went to Twiggs to see if I could grab some food & watch the Red Sox. At 6:15pm, I ordered some cheese fries and asked if they could change the channel to the Sox game. The response was a point by «Camilla» to the basketfull of remotes. I tried 3 remotes before a tablefull of folks was sat and blocked the rest. Fine, I can deal. Just give me the check for my beer & cheese fries and I’ll go see the game somewhere else. First check says $ 13 which sounds right. I give my card and wait for it to be run. The check when it came back was $ 26. What. the. h*ll.

My wife and I were visiting St. Albans on a short shopping trip, up from the Burlington /Williston area(see my review for Vintage Vibe). We had visited Vintage Vibe, and Elaine, the owner of that store, made a few lunch suggestions. Twiggs stood out as having what we both wanted — healthy and, um, not so healthy(guilt as charged). We walked 3 and ½ short blocks along Main Street from Vintage Vibe and found Twiggs American Gastro Pub. The day we visited, the Lunch Special was ‘buy a beer and get half-price off a burger’, which sounded great but had me worried that my health-conscious wife would think it’s all burgers. Twiggs is neither all burgers, nor all beer. In fact, when we walked in, my wife thought the place looked nice, clean and inviting, so the choice was made.(Yay!) Inside, we found a nicely decorated, modern gastro pub with paintings(for sale) on the walls(but the paintings matched the permanent décor, so it wasn’t cheesy), as well as handmade, cigar box guitars(also for sale) on display above each booth. On one side, a curved bar(mirrored on the other side of a wall by a matching curved bar) and across the room from the bar, booths.(This is important to us, because even if we were eating in a bloody abattoir, if there was a booth available, we would eat alongside the butchered cattle!)(Apologies to my Vegan friends… but it’s true.) We got a booth(no surprise), and were greeted by a server who left us a card with her name on it(nice touch, we won’t forget). No beers for me today(I’m driving), so we each had sodas — and the glasses were large with free refills. My wife ordered crab cakes and salad and I ordered a BLT, which was amazing(more on that soon). Here’s how good the food was — my wife did not take home leftovers. ‘Nuff said. My BLT came on soft, thick bread and stacked with impressively thick bacon, fresh lettuce & tomato and a sweet aioli spread, to which I added spicy mustard on top. Yummy! The lunch atmosphere was pleasant and quiet(not a surprise in Vermont, but maybe in a gastro pub). Oh, and while we waited for the food to arrive(not any longer than expected(A+), we read a stack of Trivial Pursuit cards and quizzed each other. This type of small touch separates the ‘attentive’ restaurants from the fast & quick greasy spoons. The check was very easy on the pocketbook. I imagine, with the live music calendar posted, that Twiggs gets hopping’ at night(Return Visit — added to bucket list. Check!) If you find yourself in downtown St. Albans during mid-day with lunch in mind, Twiggs is definitely one of a handful of quality restaurant choices within walking distance. We can’t wait to return and try the other places, but I know we’ll be back to Twiggs American Gastro Pub soon.

The service is good and the atmosphere is lively. The place has a funky décor and there is live music. This is a fun place to hang out if your in St Albans

My husband and I have been going to Twigg’s since they opened and have been fans right along. The service can be slow, but this is a place you go to chat and listen to the performers. It is a place where you can relish the food and the company. The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the place is great. I love all of the artwork by local artist Jon Young. I love the live music and I love that in the warmer months we have the ability to eat outside. The mac ‘n out dish is amazing — we typically get it as an appetizer, since it is so rich. And if you’re looking for a dessert to die for than the Twiggy — a deep dish cookie with ice cream and toppings that is baked while you wait — is a must try! I also love that the owners are so invested in the community — supporting local talent and causes. I’m a bit disappointed that they removed the Sassy St. Albans from the menu. That was my staple meal and even though I’ve been several times since, I haven’t found anything on the menu that I like as much. The other con we’ve come to find is that they tend to run out of food come Sunday. We no longer visit Twigg’s on Sunday because every single time that we have they’ve been out of something or another.

Great food and beer selection is awesome. Out server Ashley was an absolute sweetheart. You can always count on Tom stopping by to check on you. The ribeye was cooked just right.

Don’t Go Here. Cannot find one good thing to say about this place. If I could give negative stars I would. Food and service are horrible. Save your money.

Best in town. Very good food, well prepared. Warm and friendly atmosphere, attentive service. Excellent selection of beers on tap. They are doing a great job. The menu is perfect for this kind of gastropub and extensive enough to find something for everyone. I highly recommend.

Twiggs was great when it opened. Food was unique, delicious, and had a great atmosphere despite the food being a bit pricey. The last few times I went, service was painfully slow, the tables were dirty and portion sizes were smaller each time. $ 15 for 3 small chicken fingers is just too much.

First let me say I may be biased because I have always gone to Twiggs with great company and therefore I’ve always associated it with contentment. I have never had a bad meal or bad service here, most recently my BF took me to Twiggs for our anniversary. It was a Wednesday and we both got alcoholic beverages and burgers so our burgers were half-price. Yum! They have a good tap selection which is very important to my BF and they have a great mixed drink menu which is important to me. I got 2 mixed drinks, they run around $ 8 apiece but they don’t overfill the glass with ice and they aren’t stingy on the alcohol either, a good, yummy value. A pint of beer runs about $ 5. We got cheese fries for our app. They come smothered in house made 14th Star beer cheese and have scallions and bacon on top with a side of sour cream. It is very decadent and tasty, but the cheese sauce coupled with the fries and bacon is all pretty salty, so have a glass of water close at hand. My BF got the Italian Stallion burger which comes with marinara, pesto, baby spinach and spicy mozzarella sticks. He really enjoyed it but he said it wasn’t something he would normally order. I got the Merfster burger with had lettuce, onion, fried pickles and thousand island dressing and we’ll as smoked meat. It was kind of reminiscent of a Reuben sandwich. It was so, so good. The beef patty is the star of the show on both burgers. The burgers also come with house made kettle chips. Normally when we eat at Twiggs the chips are still hot from the fryer, that night they weren’t which did disappoint me a little bit. But they were every bit as tasty as normal. I was nervous when we got to the restaurant because everyone working there looked so young. And im 26, so I’m definitely not bashing today’s youth, I just wasn’t sure what kind of service to expect. My worries were certainly unfounded because our server was prompt and courteous and anything she may not have known the answer to she found out immediately. It was yet another pleasant dining experience and we will be back!

Twiggs is my favorite place in St. Albans(and it Franklin County). GREAT food, friendly owner & staff and a modern ambience. The Mac & Cheese is HUGE and delicious, as are the burgers. I especially love sidewalk music & seating in the summer and the artwork inside. I’ve never had a bad experience with food or service and have been here 10+ times. Sometimes service can be a little on the slow side when it’s packed, but that’s to be expected and they are always very pleasant about it. Twiggs has been a great addition to quiet St. Albans!

Tasty pub style well prepared frozen and fresh foods presented with care and considered, by the locals, a great place to meet friends. Pros: + STAFF: Friendly prompt staff ready to assist with whatever they can. I haven’t met a staff there that was less than friendly. + FOOD: Tasty foods prepared with care. + CLEANLINESS: Clean eating environment, can’t speak to the kitchen as I haven’t seen it. Cons: — ACCURACY of ORDERS: Multiple errors in orders over multiple visits. They were promptly fixed and often removed from tab. — CLEANLINESS: Back porch is a nice addition to the environment, but would caution sitting at the back«bar», which overlooks the parking garage, it resides under a tree that birds often frequent.

I gotta tell you that the food is g-o-o-d! We were seated outside and the service was arduously sloooooowwwwww because there was only one person who served all 12 tables outside. Nonetheless, it was a great place to eat and socialize with family and friends! :-)

Somewhere between the great draft beers, the $ 3 Margarita Mondays, the delicious grill food and on-par service is the relaxing experience of dining at Twiggs! I’ve only been here a few times but have come away feeling like I got what I paid for and then some. They don’t do a lot that’s different than most bar and grilles but they seem to do it consistently. They have a bar space on one side and they inherited the dining side from the old Ciao Bella’s. It’s a great space in addition to the nice outdoor seating area they have installed right on Main Street out front! I like their burgers although they are the«extra large» mouthful type that usually need a knife and fork treatment. They always have a good selection of beers on tap and dinner specials are perfectly done and well selected for a variety of tastes. I guess you really can’t go wrong at Twiggs as best I can tell. I hope they continue to do their thing well.

Stopped here with my mom on our way to Canada. They have an excellent beer and cocktail selection. I had a steak salad, and my mom had an ahi tuna salad. We enjoyed our salads. Everything was fresh. Service was friendly, but slightly slow. I’d come here but not if you’re in a rush.

We had a grilled and tomato soup as well as a veggie burger(in the Twiggster). Beer selection was good. Staff(esp the bartender and host) were really pleasant. Great choice on a hot day coming back from Montréal.

I thought it was pretty good. Sat outside on their nice patio area surrounded by plants and the occasional Harley Davidson roaring by. Nice selection of VT beers(first time trying 14th star and I am a fan). The chips and cheese dip appetizer probably upped my future heart attack by 6 months but was worth it. I had a burger made with the special house mixture: ½ Vermont beef and ½ bacon. Interesting, but it seemed very«hard» and not flavorful. Next time, I’ll stick with the straight beef. Waitstaff was very attentive and very friendly. We went around 7:00 on a Sunday night so maybe they just had more time on their hands for us, as opposed to other reviewers.

I enjoyed our visit and the atmosphere. Food was tasty and the waitstaff was friendly and efficient. I’d like to go back on a night when they have music and try some other foods and beer.

I used to love it. Great food, good service. Went there on a busy night and the service was lousy, food was mediocre at best. Our food was cold and dry, after 4 tables that came in later than us were served. I should give them another chance, because we did have multiple awesome meals there. But I just can’t stop thinking about the last time and I don’t want to spend $ 40 – 50 on a $ 15 dollar experience.
