My only regret is that I didn’t know I could do this sooner. My Mom was in neighboring Yancey County. Yancey County Hospice Dr Jeff Polgar officially turned us down 10÷23÷12, AGAINST his nurses’ recommondation… which is unheard of. Used the «6 month rule». My mother died 4÷10÷13. It was 6 months 4÷23÷13. Mitchell County accepted us Good Friday 3÷29÷13. They were complete Angels in a situation beyond difficult. There are no words to describe what myself and especially my mother went thru. I just wish we would’ve known we could’ve gotten them in earlier. They would have been glad to come. They have their own full load and picking up the slack of others. From what I hear from other local residents, it is becoming quite a common occurance. God Bless these folks day in and day out!
