Triple Eights is an extremely good value. The meals are not only delicious, but you get an enormous amount of food! My favorite is the sweet and sour chicken. Their crag rangoon is perfect. The service inside is great, and I would only recommend the drive through if you have lots of time to spare.

We ate on a weeknight about 7 pm. The dishes where not even very warm. The orange chicken was mush and bland. The lo mein shrimp were tough. The dinning room was full of young families and children not conducive to date night

The biggest complaint is they don’t have many vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. Last time we were here I just had rice with veggies since everything else had meat in it. I asked for some teriyaki sauce for my rice and they said they don’t carry it. Every Chinese restaurant I have ever been to has had teriyaki sauce, so that was pretty disappointing. The rice with veggies was plain and I could’ve made a better version at home.

Went back for lunch yesterday and this place never ceases to amaze me for the price and the deliciousness of the food. I wouldn’t let any of these reviews deter you because if you want quality food for the price, you just can’t beat this place. I highly and did I remember to say highly recommend that people try the Special Chinese Menu items because they are out of this world good. The Beef Noodle Soup is my favorite and definitely best in the city.

This place is disappointing. When I walked into the restaurant I saw one of the staff members sleeping on the job. You could also tell that the food was frozen and they vegetables were not fresh at all. I would not recommend anyone to come eat here the staff is lazy and the owners are cheap.

I’ve ate at quite a few different Chinese restaurants around Springfield as well as Nixa so tonight when my mom offered to stop in here for dinner I figured why not. I’ve heard a few good things about this place as well as bad so I figured it was worth a try. I ordered the kung pao chicken while my mom ordered the shrimp lo-mein and my nephew who was with us ordered the sweet and sour chicken. My mom said her shrimp lo-mein was really good although not being a seafood person I didn’t try it. I tried my nephew’s sweet and sour chicken and it was ok, just the typical sweet and sour dish you’ll find at most Chinese restaurants in Springfield. My kung pao chicken left me pretty disappointed. It had no vegetables at all, which is a big reason I usually order this dish. Also, the chicken seemed to be tiny little cut up pieces instead of the larger actual chunks of chicken I’m use to seeing in most Chinese dishes. The flavor wasn’t so bad, it had a decent bite to it. The rice that was served with my dish was just flat out unappealing. It was just one large clump and when I mixed it with my sauce it all just mushed together like it was really overcooked. Not what I was expecting since at first sight it looked like the typical Chinese rice but, I was wrong. The crab rangoon that came with my dish was also not really that great. It tasted like it had been sitting out for quite some time and a good portion of it was just the fried pieces, not a lot of filling. There may be other dishes at this restaurant that are really good and the prices as well as the portions were pretty spot on for fast Chinese food but, for me I know there are much better Chinese places in Springfield.

My daughter loves this place! We are not from Springfield and it has been a challenge finding Chinese food. Which should not be an issues because there are tons of Asian restaurants here. Non the less they are always busy which is a plus, on Fridays the drive thru is packed and it a lonnnnngggg wait but anything for my daughter! We have ordered ahead and its still a wait! Everyone is pleasant and the food is good per my daughter. The prices are also cheap I think it’s like 5 or 6 bucks for rice, chicken, and crab rangoon. I think this is probably the best in town!

My wife and I have eaten a lot of «oriental» foods in Springfield. We’ve had some really excellent locations, and some absolutely horrible experiences. Thankfully, we’ve never had a bad experience at Triple Eights. It’s actually conveniently located to us, so we do eat from there often. We always get the same things, Springfield style cashew chicken. My wife gets hers without the nuts, ant I get mine without the onions. For two people, including the drinks, it’s usually under $ 15. It’s great food in a beautiful dining room, and they are usually very, very busy. If you’ve never tried it, you must give it a go. Their meals usually come with rice and two crab Rangoon, which are absolutely delicious. Their portion sizes are quiet generous. You have the option of requesting only white meat on your chicken dishes, or getting mixed white and dark meat. We’ve eaten there around 50 times now, and I just can’t see us ever stopping, so give them a try if you are in the neighborhood and see if you disagree with me.

Drive thru person speaks horrible English and was rude when we tried to confirm our order was correct at window. Too many other places to chose from to go here again.

Oh, how sweetly fantastic! The food is affordable, the place is clean, and the taste! It’s Springfield Asian food at it’s cheapest best. That’s not a bad thing – that’s a very, very good thing. I’ve been living out in Buffalo, NY and I’ve missed Springfield Asian food. The rest of the country just doesn’t get it and the food isn’t as good. Triple Eight’s food isn’t expensive, but it’s made right. Plus it’s close to my Dad’s house, so it’s an easy default when we’re in a pinch for dinner.

Worse Springfield style cashew chicken I have ever had. Crab Rangoon was equally bad. Really nothing to recommend about this location.

I went here with a friend due to a restaurant of my choice being closed nearby. Usually cheap places like this has at least OK food, but due to the non care of the recipes this place is one the most disappointing places I’ve tried in Springfield. I did only pay $ 5 for my entrée, but I would have rather paid more to get a better product. I ordered general taos chicken. The chicken itself was very dry and I ate one piece. The sauce was very sweet and didn’t have any hints of spice which is terrible due to this dish indicating spiciness on the menu and in general its supposed to be spicy. The complimentary crab Rangoon’s were the beat part and they were bad good, full of cream cheese and no crab in site. They tasted old and stale like they have been sitting out all day. All in all terrible experience I will never go back and its a shame cause I live across the street.

Best cashew chicken! I lived here as a kid and remember going to the bamboo inn. I was sad to learn they closed. However very happy to find this place! I think their cashew chicken tastes just like the bamboo inn.

Gotta have that Springfield cashew chicken when i come home to visit. Dillon’s use to be the best. now no more Dillon’s :[ so tried this place. very good sauce and reasonably priced. Crab rangoon kind of tough but have gone there twice since i have been back, both times=delicious and fresh. Have to add that the owner(middle aged asian female) very rude to her employees and to the customers. It might be a cultural thing but i dont think i would go back because she is sooo rude.

The best general chicken in Springfield by far! Their other dishes are so so, but the only real reason to go here is for general chicken!

After eating here another dozen times I feel I need to add another star to my original rating. For the price the shrimp lo mein from the drive through is a bargain and quite delicious. I also love the spicy eggplant. In fact we mix those two together with some hot chili paste for my favorite chinese mash up dish of all time.

At least it was cheap. I got the kung pao chicken and steamed rice, I asked if it had onions and the girl didn’t know. The rice portion was a little small for American standards, it was alright. Not a fan of crab rangoons so I couldn’t tell you. The chicken however, I’ve never had kung pao chicken without vegetables. There were literally none. It was chicken and a few peanuts and a chilli somewhere. The sauce was hardly remarkable, it tasted VERY strongly of soy sauce like they didn’t know how to balance a kung pao sauce. Otherwise it’s your average chinese restaurant in Missouri, the place is pretty clean and decent looking and has a drive through. Doubt I’ll go back though.

This is the Chinese restaurant I judge other Chinese places against. The food is good. The place is clean. But what sets Triple Eights apart is the authentic menu featuring several great choices you won’t find at most other Chinese restaurants. And despite the affordable price, you’d be pressed to find any plastic ware or Styrofoam in the place.

I am new to Springfield. The number of Asian style restaurants in this city is astounding! All seem to have Cashew Chicken as the special. Triple Eight’s is just down the road from my new residence. The restaurant was full when I walked in at 2:00pm. Very clean, not overly decorated. Ordering is simple. Menu selection is provided on a board over the register. I did feel rushed to order, but I knew what I wanted prior to arriving. I ordered Sesame Chicken. The plate came with a side of fried rice and two rangoons. Only $ 4.89 for a nice serving. I added an egg roll for $ 1.19 extra. I could have done without the egg roll as there was plenty of food. My only complaint would be with service. The lady taking my order wasn’t very pleasant, and when I asked her to repeat something she said, she proceeded to say it extremely slow as if I were ignorant. I can overlook this, however. It didn’t seem intentional, maybe just a disconnect. I’ll take just one star for that. The food is the star of the show though. If you don’t mind a gruff service experience, then you will appreciate everything else about this little place. Simple menu and a great value. Looking forward to trying more from Triple Eight’s.
