Customer service was terrible! Not helpful at all, the item I asked they were out of it, but did not even suggest to order it on line or call some other stores, I had to ask for the young man to call, they just look like they don’t want to be there at all. Will not be back to this store at all.

Intelligent employees, very professional and not bunch of muscle heads. Great selections. Ask questions if you’re not sure about something. I use to go to GNC(McOverpriced) so when Vitamin shoppe started popping up in the area it was a blessing. I’m a member so I enjoy getting rewards for points earned, good stuff. I order online and go to a store physically. Either way I get great service. I even get tea from there. Great selection on tea as well.

GNC or Vitamin Shoppe… that is the question… I’m not here to tell you which store is better, but you cannot get it any better service/advice than this Vitamin Shoppe off Loisdale Rd(old shopping center). Mort, the manager, is top notch. I came in and he greeted me with a warm smile. He didn’t even try to sell me anything! Instead he gave me very good nutrition/fitness advice. I went in thinking I needed more protein in my diet and was going to purchase some whey protein isolate. After talking to Mort, he advised me at my age/exercise régime, I should really be taking fish oil, a multivitamin and exercise 30 minutes a day, while eating 50% raw foods with fish/chicken etc for protein. Should I feel very exhausted after a workout, like my body needs something more, I can come back in to see what supplements I might need. WHAT?! I’ve been in sales… and I know at other stores, they try to upsell you instead of giving you advice. My kind of store! Going here to get my next set of vitamins :)

So, back when I was fat, sick and disabled — my trainer, Richard, started sending me over here for supplements. I’d gone to GNC and really didn’t care for their chirpy, perky employees. I hate chirpy, perky, employees. I had a very specific list of stuff I didn’t understand and had no clue what I was buying and why. Not that I didn’t trust Richard, who’s not just a fantastic training — but also a sports nutritionist. The surprisingly well informed and very calm, informed employees here very patiently walked me through everything and why that’s supplements worked together. Within a few months, I’d lost the weight and was healthier than I’d been in almost 25 years. So, yeah. I trust these guys an awful lot. The husbear gets his supplements from them and I take friends here. They even gluten free protein shake products, which totally delights me. Calm, cool, professional. These guys are just one of the highlights of our area. If they suggest something, they do it for the right reasons. They’ve demonstrated competence and compassion with me for the last two years. Parking is a wee bit tight, since they’re at the end of a strip shopping mallette at the far end of Springfield Mall, but they’re directly across from Barnes & Noble. So, you can enter from either Loisdale Rd or from Springfield Mall itself. If you aren’t a member of their rewards program, join. I seem to get regular coupons that result in $ 25 discounts.
