Sweet Taco was just ok. I would have preferred more meat in the salad I ordered. I did like the casual vibe. Stick to beer & dessert & you’ll be fine.

Great spot for a quick bite, delicious little tacos and reasonably priced. Had the chicken taco and brisket taco, both quite tasty. Service was ok and the staff was friendly.

(86⁄100) I had this bookmarked for a few weeks now. I was running errands today and decided to check this place out. Eh, I’m kind of disappointed in my experience but it wasn’t terrible enough that I wouldn’t try them out again. I walked up to the storefront and saw a sign that said«$ 2 taco Tuesday’s!» Damn me for not coming tomorrow instead. I ordered: 1) Shrimp taco 2) Brisket taco 3) Shrimp corn chowder 4) Donoli doughnut 5) Cup of ice water 1) Super tasty. I’d definitely order this again. 2) Holy —- that was — — - disgusting. It came to the table and it was cold. The meat was rough and dryer than the Sahara desert. It hurt my teeth to eat it. It also came with jalapeño coleslaw that had no jalapeño taste to it whatsoever. Actually, it was super sweet. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Just don’t punish yourself by ordering this monstrosity. 3) It was tasty but it came out warm, not hot. It also needed a pinch of salt. However there was no salt or pepper on the table; only 4 different kinds of hot sauce. I added the garlic hot sauce to the chowder to give it a nice little kick. 4) The doughnut came free(!) with the check in. There was so many delicious looking options but I went with the Donoli & I really enjoyed it. I HATE doughnuts but this was fantastic. It was a soft and moist cake that was cut in half filled with thick and creamy cannoli filling with chocolate chips. Make yourself happy & order this. If you’re looking for authentic tacos, this ain’t it. This is a casual dining type of place. There’s no napkins, condiments, or silverware on the table. They bring the food to your table & you leave it there when you’re finished. It was supposed to be complimentary margaritas on Mondays but I didn’t see any. I’d come again and give them another shot.

Wasn’t impressed. Got the nachos with brisket. Very bland and basically a head of lettuce and huge chunks of tomatoes. The chips tasted stale and very generic. Homemade chips would have made a world of a difference. Got one of each of the tacos. One again nothing special and once again way to much lettuce. Obviously using it as filler. Service, fail again. Ordered a side of guac and the person brought out the food and it wasn’t there. I asked for it and she told me she could not give me any cause it wasn’t on the ticket and then left. So now waiting for my server. Couldn’t the person who brought the food just go get it for me and then to our server? Won’t be returning. Wanted to try the doughnuts they had one with fruity pebbles on it, but the whole experience was ruined from everything else.

On May 26, 2016, I stopped in after dinner to pick up donuts for dessert. The donuts were about 3″ diameters. They were cute. I got three: Apple pie: think apple pie filling sandwich Cinnamon sugar: plain donut coated with cinnamon sugar Fruitty Pebbles: plain donut coated with Fruity Pebbles breakfast cereal The donut itself was a light and fluffy soft cake. The toppings and fillings were ok Although I stopped in the restaurant after the dinner rush, the restaurant noise was very loud.

Food is three stars at best. Service was pleasant and deserves 5 stars! We came around closing and they were still happy to serve us, AND they gave us 6 free donuts since they probably would have been thrown away otherwise! The chips and guac were good, and we enjoyed the jalapeño cheddar sauce. But when the sauce was first served to us it had that filmy look, the way cheese sauce gets when you leave it out too long. The fish in the fish tacos was nicely prepared, not too dry or anything. But the cole slaw kind of reminded me of something that your mom throws together for a BBQ, but not in a good way. The chicken taco was underwhelming. It could have been canned chicken for all I know. Food aside, this place has a nice bar and awesome beer list! I don’t like to speak badly of a place with such nice customer service, but the food can use A LOT of improvement.

Came here a couple months ago after finding out our favorite Mexican place closed down. Ordered a burrito, some tacos, kid’s quesadilla, and some gauc n chips. Burrito is seriously overpriced for what you get. Flavor is about average, but you’re essentially paying $ 9 for a taco bell burrito with a side of rice and beans. I’m totally ok with taco bell style burritos, but they shouldn’t cost more than a a few bucks. Tacos were mediocre and also overpriced. Gauc n chips were ok because I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to mess up gauc. I don’t know if this is accurate, but it felt like the cooks in the back have no culinary education or skill. The food felt like what you’d make in high school before you learned how to actually cook well. Maybe they are a bunch of high schoolers and no one is actually quality controlling the dishes, I really can only guess. Suffice it to say we won’t be coming back.

Hadn’t been back here since they changed their name to The Sweet Taco from Taqueria del Sol. As other reviewers have mentioned, the only change on the menu is the donuts(which did look fabulous but were a bit on the small side). I ordered two tacos — the BBQ pork with jalapeño slaw was good, but didn’t have enough slaw on it for me(the meat was great though) and the fried chicken taco which had lettuce and tomato and a spicy mayo on it(it was good though the fried chicken could have used more flavor). Unlike other reviewers, I really liked the guac and thought it had plenty of flavor and the chips came out warm — a plus. Service was okay — nothing really to speak of either way. Overall, not a bad place for a quick lunch. But if it’s actually Mexican food you’re looking for, you’re not going to find it here. This is more of an American style taco kind of place.

For a quick bite, it cannot be beaten. The shrimp corn chowder soup is fabulous, but the chicken quesadilla is average– not bad, but not great. Black bean side dish was tasty, and the tacos were a bit spicy, but delish. The Apple stuffed donuts? Just do it!

The food was really good The owner was very polite and was very engaged with his customers. The place was comfortable and fresh. I love the atmosphere, it caters to the children, middle age and older crowed. Now the only thing I had a problem with was the cashier(Sam) Working with the public a customer should never feel as if they are bugging you. I get the fact we are all human but with a manager as sweet and kind she could have at least put a smile on her face. Yes would visit again

Came here for A quick bite to eat with the family trying to avoid places like Taco Bell. I wanted to check and quesadilla and I must say it was really good better than I expected. Everybody was happy no complaints and when I checked in the app rewarded us with a free doughnut and I can’t complain because their donuts are specialized and very good. Will definitely come back. The service was very fast and the environment was pretty clean. There was a small error on one of the orders but they were very quick to take it back and bring out the exact right order with no complaints and no hard time so it was very well-managed in my opinion.

My husband and I always love going here. The food is good. Not excellent and not terrible. The guac is always very good and they have MARGARITA’S. The margs are always good and my husband likes the beer selection. The staff is very friendly especially the girl who takes the orders. It’s a nice place for a laid back dinner where you can also order drinks.

3.75 but not 4 stars. Pros: Great food! Drinks with dinner is nice! Both the shrimp corn chowder and Red Beef Chilli were really good. Tacos were on point. Cons: A bit over priced. Smaller portioned bowls and Soups. Staff was pleasent and service was adequate. Overall a win bit don’t come here if ravenous or the bill could amount to more than you’d expect.

Fairly priced, quick service, good drinks. I like to come after work for a quick couple of tacos and a margarita.

Pretty bad experience. I would take taxo bell over sweet taco anyday. Their food selection sounds good but the quality and taste is just horrible. I ordered guac and its just plain avocado with no seasoning at all. I would not recommand this place at all.

I came here to have dinner since it was near some stores I wanted to shop at. The place appeared clean and the service was not bad. I gave them a 2⁄5 because of the quality of the food. There are a lot of Mexican joints around and this certainly cannot compare. I think the concept of the place was great, but a lot more love needs to go into the making of the food. After you order at the register, they give you a number and they bring your food out to the table of your choice. Interesting, they have a selection of alcoholic beverages that most places don’t offer, and I wonder if that’s what’s drawing people in. They also serve small donuts. I didn’t have one so no comments on that. I got 2 tacos(veggie and fried chicken). The veggie taco was pretty good but very salty. The fried chicken taco was crispy but just okay. I had some of the burrito platter. It was nothing impressive and quite small in comparison to most burritos that I’ve had. We got the guacamole with chips and I was very disappointed. The guac was not seasoned ATALL. It literally tasted like avocados. There were also occassionally these black hard substances in the guac that could probably take a tooth out. The chips were also pretty greasy. Another pet peeve of mine is when condiments aren’t refilled. They had sauces on the table and most of them were nearly finished. Call me spoiled, but there are SO many other great competitors nearby. I probably won’t be coming here again.

I gave Sweet Taco another shot and again it was a huge disappointment. The woman taking orders was trained how to work the register, not how to interact with customers. No courtesy. No «thank you;» not even«you’re welcome» after I thanked her. Are they told to have the flattest affect they can muster? Bizarre. My dish was brought out missing a third of my order. Because of the odd setup here, I had to carry my dish and my purse up to the line where orders are placed to have it rectified. There were kids running around shrieking, which gave the ambiance of a pre-school to my dining experience. The shrill squeak of the door over and over kept the beat.

Personable staff. Donuts are pretty good. Cakey but not too cakey. And definitely tasty! Shrimp corn chowder was AWESOME and I tell people I don’t eat shrimp. However– beef tacos were kind of a let down. Watery– barely any flavor. It came from a crock pot was surprising to me– but I’ve recently been using a crock pot to make chicken tacos because it tastes amazing that way. Unfortunately these tacos were not amazing.

We wanted so badly to like Sweet Taco, especially considering the absolute lack of decent Mexican joints in DelCo… But Sweet Taco just isn’t it. We went as a family tonight before hitting Giant for groceries. I had the chicken loaded nachos and hubby had the cheese steak burrito. He said his was edible, but we could’ve done better at home. I completely agree, especially since the«loaded» nachos were mostly chips with plastic-y cheese(it wasn’t hot enough to stay liquid and congealed within minutes), a few strips of lettuce, a handful of tomatoes, and the driest, least tasteful seasoned chicken I’ve ever had. Not only that, but when you imagine loaded nachos, you see a huge pile of tasty goodness on a plate — this was a tiny mound 1 – 2 chips thick. Had it not been $ 9, it could have been a good, small starter. On top of that, everything came out within 5 minutes of ordering, so you know nothing was fresh. All through dinner, hubby kept asking me what was wrong. It took till later to realize that I was flabbergasted at the complete lack of quality and how the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant are complete opposites of each other. I don’t know what they’re doing right, but it must be something since there was a short line most of the time we were there, as well as when we left the grocery store. The donuts looked good, but we were honestly too afraid of more disappointment to try them. Save yourself some heart ache and late night hunger pains and go over to Mesa Fresh. The quality is better, as is the value. Two stars for the staff.
