The food’s pretty good but the service is disappointing. A guy with dreadlocks was working the counter yesterday and he was so surly/rude we just left. I’ll get my Cajun fix elsewhere from now on.

Delicious food but bad customer services. I ordered small seafood gumbo, it was a bit expensive for amount of food I got. The seasoning was great and not too strong! They have boiled shrimp on Friday. Check their schedule for boiled crawfish during the season! The gentleman who took my order look like he didn’t want to be there. You might have to try to overlook the customer service part and try to focus on the good food they have.

I had a simple dish — catfish. It was sooo good and seasoned perfectly! My wife-to-be got a shrimp and sausage po boy, and she’s from Louisiana so I was curious on her take. We both just loved our meals, from the flavor and seasoning to the portion and quality. this place is awesome!

Wife brought home sampler, fish sandwich, Cole slaw, etc. I have never heard of this place, but look forward to getting the roast beef sandwich after seeing the picture. What we had was great. Will be visiting there again soon. Yum… Yum

When this place is open it is about the best and freshest seafood you can get in the land-locked area we call the midwest. Any of the Po Boys are a safe bet. The gumbo is fresh and spicy, and the prices are super reasonable. Now when I say when it is open I mean they run on a very weird schedule. I live on the other side of town so when I drive by there, they are maybe open one out of three times. My guess is that it’s family run and is only open when they are able to get a truckload of fresh seafood. But I do feel kind of lucky when I am able to eat there. Also bring cash.

This is the place you have to try! I’m sure you will be overwhelmingly pleased. I’ve been here on many occasions and it is always exceeded my expectations. Today I had the three piece fish, potatoes and onions, green beans, and coleslaw. The fish was truly a delight with a spicy Creole batter. The taters and green beans, were piping hot and we’re just like grandma used to make. To balance this meal out there’s fresh coleslaw that was as good as it gets!

Excellent food! I’m not a huge Cajun fan, but this was really good, we got the sampler platter which included fish, shrimp, sausage, gumbo, red beans and rice(so yummy!) It looked like they have different specials each day. They go to New Orleans and get seafood every other week so it depends on what is in season and available. Will defiantly be back!

We have been passing by this place for quite a while now, always eyeing it with curiosity and some trepidation. You never know quite what you’re getting into with roadside stands: they’re either awesome or terrible. Throw seafood into the mix and things can get scary fast! But finally we took the dive, and I cannot say enough how worth it it was. Since we first came we have been back usually about once a week(ok, sometimes twice), and everything has been great. The service is friendly and prompt, prices are reasonable especially for the amount of food you get. Everything we have tried has been delicious as well. The Po Boys are excellent, all the standard cajun fare is great too, but their specials really shine. Don’t miss out on the Wednesday special of boneless stuffed chicken quarters, wrapped in bacon and smoked. When you see Jambalaya on the menu, pounce on it. The boudin burgers are massive and amazing. And the étouffée is some of the best I’ve had. Liking their Facebook page gets you plenty of early warning of the daily specials for each week(why is this so uncommon?) or just drive by, they usually have signs put out for the days to come. The ONLY downside for this place is that its cash only, but the food is so good I’m willing to ignore it. If you don’t want to drive all the way to the edge of town, they do have a new truck set up in the Food 4 Less parking lot on the north side of Battlefield, just east of Campbell. When we first stopped in we talked to the owner. He is notably proud of how authentic all his dishes are, and that he gets all of their ingredients(even the mayo for the sandwiches) from Louisiana. The pride shows in the product. You can’t go wrong with anything here, and after you try it, you’ll want to taste it all. So don’t put it off any longer!

We almost missed this place because we expected a restaurant. However, this place is run out of a trailer, which is just fine by me. I was rather disappointed with their limited menu and somewhat under-flavored dishes. We ordered the sampler, the shrimp basked and the beef po’boy. There were two stand outs: the beef(!) po’boy and the sausage that came in the sampler basket. All the other dishes including étouffée, gumbo and the fried shrimp and fish lacked salt and was rather bland. I was also disappointed that they did not have oysters as I hoped they would. The owner did tell me though that they will have those at the end in September. So I will definitely be back to Shrimp & Bayou Classes for those — even if I’ll stick to the more land-based animals.
