Tried Panjabi because I found a menu laying around at work and thought it looked interesting. I have never sat in the restaurant but always found the noise level inside to be reasonable and quiet. Now I am a HUGEFAN of Panjabi. I have to order from here weekly. Usually getting chicken curry and naan. The food is delicious and there’s one thing about this restaurant that steals my heart. THEYALWAYSGETMYORDERRIGHT. Another reviewer had left a comment saying that they«didn’t see much difference in portion between lunch special and dinner». I would 100% disagree. When I order lunch special chicken curry, it is a healthy sized serving. When I order the dinner chicken curry, it contains at least 50% more chicken and rice, usually when we order dinner my girlfriend and I will split it and also get something else like vegetable samosas. I could not even give suggestions to this place. They have always treated me well, and the food has always been spot on.

Pretty good Indian spot I hit last time I met a friend in Springfield. Personally I am more of a Pintus fan(West Springfield), but this place has good lunch specials. Portions and amount of meat in the curries wasn’t something I will comment positively on… we ordered 1 lunch special smaller size, to be expected, and one standard size portion, and standard size portion had roughly as much meat. Nan and Paratha breads were also quite good. Service was fine. When we arrived at 11:45 I started getting worried, but it filled up quite a bit as the Friday afternoon lunch crowd came in. Good takeout option for those working downtown. Tried standard chicken curry and lamb korma(one of my favorite Indian dishes) and both were pretty good.

We eat here frequently and have never really been disappointed. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could though because I don’t like the cut/quality of the chicken they use in dishes like Tikka masala etc. They clearly use chicken breast and the problem is that it’s not very tender or moist nor do they give you much chicken at all. The flavor of the dishes are great and the Naan is delicious along with the rice. Service is always good and they are very pleasant people there. We will continue to eat here when we’re in the mood for Indian and we like it better than the other Indian restaurant across the river

Not sure how this place racked up those numbers. This place is a disgrace, a taco bell among other Indian food places, and the service, well, you really can’t call it a service. Go there only if your survival depends on it.

Great Indian food — try the Saag Paneer and garlic naan– it’s amazing! My Indian boyfriend loves it too!

The food was alright. The service was pretty bad. We were there with a group and the guest of honor didn’t even get her food. We had to flag a server down to let them know. We were all finished by the time her meal arrived. I expected her dish to be comped, but she just got a 10% discount. We were waiting so long for someone to take our payments that I finally collected everyone’s and stood by the kitchen to hand them off so we could leave.

I just got here and the place looks good and the food seems to be good. I ordered to go and was about to check-in on Unilocal, which comes with a free soup. When I asked about this offer to the server that was helping me, another employee immediately snapped at me ‘this is only for dine-in’. That’s fine, but there is a way to communicate that in a friendly way. There’s no reason to be rude to me just for asking. Putting a disclaimer on the offer would help too. I think it’s sad how poor service can ruin the mood for a restaurant pretty much 2 minutes after walking in already.

I was stuck in Springfield and this place was walking distance from my hotel. I saw good reviews so I gave it a try. Honestly it was just okay. I am sure it is the best Indian in Springfield, but that is not saying much given the state of the city. I would go back if I ever had to spend another evening in Springfield, which I hope NEVER happens. The food had a level of sweetness to it that was out of the ordinary, despite my ordering«spicy» from their choice of mild, medium, or spicy. Nothing was spicy at all. The lentil soup was pretty good as was the roti. The entrees were bland but edible. Prices were $ 12-$ 15 per entrée, which is a bit high for the location.

Although dinner tonight missed the mark, this is generally a great place. We love ordering coconut naan with a spicy lamb dish. The chicken saag is rich and delicious and vegetable korma should not be missed. Tonight everything was under seasoned and lacked the usual flair we expect. If it happens again it will effect the rating, but tonight I’ll just hope it’s bc we were the first customers through the door.

Best Indian food in the area hands down. Shahi naan on the specials menu is out of this world. Best chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had. Relaxing atmosphere and great service.

Love this place! My husband and I drive all the way up from Hartford to eat here. Best Indian we’ve found in the area, by far! We love the samosas(both veggie and meat) and the stuffed nan is damn fine. YUM!

I loved coming to your restaurant. I especially love your coconut soup. But, I won’t come back because I was turned away with a friend when we wanted to have a glass of wine and some chaat. We were told that we couldn’t dine in the restaurant unless we ordered full meals. That is BADBUSINESS. I’ve ordered many meals, both in house and takeaway. That one foolish decision cost you a customer. It made no sense when the restaurant was virtually empty.

This is without a doubt my favorite indian/Pakistani restaurant in the greater western MA area. The flavors are excellent. They are very willing to accommodate the western pallet, but even still they run a bit on the warmer side for spices. The portions are good for the prices(for Western MA. I have NO idea why the Indian food is so expensive out here. The food is just about perfect to my taste. Everyone I’ve recommended it to, thus far, has loved it, too. Even the lads loved it.(And they’re picky.) The help is fantastic, the lunch specials are good, the food is the best, the décor is nice. The location is questionable, but, eh. This place is SO worth the drive into Springfield.

We had dinner here on New Years Day as we wanted to try a new indian restaurant in the Western Mass area. The ambience is simple– an average indian restaurant but we were seated by the window which instantly gave it a romantic cozy feel. Our server was very friendly, checked in on us regularly. The food was delicious– we had the veg tikkas, punjabi kadhi and malai kofta. All three were well made but I would highly recommend the punjabi kadhi. All in all a good experience — we’re definitely going back there.

So glad that Panjabi came back in Sitar’s absence! Ambiance: –nicely decorated Indian restaurant, with a similarly authentic motif -«date» type restaurant, a step above casual dining Food: –Vegetable Samosas(2 per order, $ 2.95): their samosas are always delicious. They make an onion chutney in-house that I’ve not seen anywhere else. And I love that they come out piping hot and fresh. –I had the Lamb Curry(medium heat, $ 12.95) and was surprised at how tender they were able to render the meat. I ate the whole dish without complaint and would happily order this again. The heat level was«OK» but I probably could have gone to «hot.» –my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Vindaloo(hot, $ 11.95) and was very happy with his dish, which he orders regularly. A side of rice was provided for both of our entrees. –Plain Naan(2 per order, $ 2.50): also came out fresh and hot, better than most naan I’ve had. Service: –excellent tableside service by polite, unobtrusive and helpful servers. –well-dressed, «professional» servers uniforms. –never had to wait for water refills and food came out promptly. –I LOVE that they’re open ’til 10PM7 days a week. This is our go-to place for Indian curry and you’d be hard-pressed to get us to go elsewhere. Their lunch specials are especially noteworthy as you can get a great meal for a lot less than their dinner prices($ 5 – 8 vs. $ 12 – 15). But for a nice date out for Indian food, Panjabi is the place to be: authentic flavors, great«heat» profile, and exceptional service makes the dinner prices worth it.

Panjabi Tadka has the market cornered on great lunch specials! The chicken curry I ordered came with a papad and pickle and rice. You could taste the fresh ginger and toasted spices. Everything was delicious and so affordable! Service was very friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean as a whistle. Thank you to the sweet customer who angel paid for my check! What a spirit lifting surprise. I can’t wait to come back to Punjabi for dinner to try out their more regional exotic dishes!
