Master Donuts

So donuts and Thai food. What an amazing combination! The coffee drinks are a little too sweet for my taste but the Thai food tastes like home cooked yumminess. And the prices are so reasonable that I’m not expecting anything fancy. Polish off with a donut and you’ve got an excellent meal.

Their donuts were delicious. Prices are super cheap. Their Chicken Yellow Curry was delicious. Although smaller portions than other Thai places, it still filled me up for the low price. Took away one star cause the guy seemed kind of grouchy when I walked in. Won’t stop me from coming back though. Maybe he was just having a bad day.

This is just not a Donut shop, but also a Thai restaurant. However, I have not tried that portion of this establishment, but the donuts here are awesome.
Been here multiple times and none have been disappointing. Every donut is always soft and not oily like some other places. I live in west Eugene, but if I ever have a craving for donuts I am willing to drive to Springfield to fill that craving.

Forget Voodoo Donuts. These are the best donuts I have ever eaten. The Thai food is also good, but loses a star because the portions were small for the price, especially the meat.

Good Donuts. Whenever around, a must stop and give yourself a treat!

I’m updating my review because this has become our little hidden gem. This place is ligit! When I go here it’s hard for me to figure out what I want because everything I have tried on the menu is great! From the curries, drunken noodles, cashew chicken, and phad thai. The last curry I ordered was the panang, I would have to say I liked that one the best. But it’s my personal choice. They are all great in flavor. The doughnuts are good too, but I’m trying to stay away from sugar. If Thai food is up your alley like it is mine, then this place is for you!

I actually buy their donuts at the Market of Choice, but they are seriously the best donuts I’ve ever eaten! They are so light and fluffy with excellent flavor! They beat out Voodoo by far!

I accidentally discovered this place last winter, as their location is a bit hidden. In a way, I wish I never had stumbled upon Master Donuts. Their chocolate bars are to die for!!! I often pick up an order of chocolate bars and bring to work. Everyone I have ever shared them with, say they are best donuts they’ve ever had. Always fresh and seem to just melt in your mouth. Highly recommend Master Donuts over the other shops in town.

So, based on recommendations from a Facebook page I’m a part of my girlfriend and I decided to stop in and give this a try.
First impressions are that it’s a quiet and clean shop hidden behind the Dairy Mart on Gateway Blvd. You wouldn’t even know it was there if you didn’t look it up or have someone tell you where it is. Better signage is a must!
There were no people there when we arrived, and it only took about 10 – 15 minutes to get our food after ordering.
We ordered the Siam Fried Rice, which was a spicy rice dish with chicken, veggies, and a garlic sauce. The portion was great, we shared the one $ 6.95 lunch special and it fed us both with some left over! There was plenty of heat, and it was delicious! The only negative is that the garlic sauce was overpowered by the spice, and we couldn’t really taste the garlic.
There are plenty of other lunch offerings they provide, and we’re excited to try more of them!!!
Btw, grab a bear claw on the way out! Their doughnuts are good, and the bear claw was simply to die for!
I would have given this a 5 star (one of my rare perfect ratings) except they only serve this awesome food from 11 am to 3 pm. There is no dinner option, give me dinner and I’ll re-​rate this to 5 stars!

Had panang curry. Lots of sauce, great flavor. Will go back, maybe I will get a doughnut also next time. Even better if you take the price into consideration.

Alright, so this morning around 8 am, Thai food sounded good… I didn’t want donuts, and the guy behind the counter said he could fix chicken Pad Thai… and he fixed a damned good one in less than 5 minutes. FWIW, the donuts looked good as well. Next time I visit Cabela’s, I will return for more good Thai food… a donut shop in a typical drab strip mall, who woulda guessed such tasty Thai food would have been available here?

Service for me was perfect, overly friendly even. Donuts were delicious. They didn’t have anything fancy or gourmet, but what they had was great. Coming from the South, we have donut shops everywhere. My size is a testament that I’ve enjoyed quite a few donuts. Trust me, they’re legit.

Great donuts, but I found the service rather curt, not very welcoming. I felt a little uncomfortable. In the future I’ll probably go back to Dizzy Dean’s or Cal’s.

Don’t go here. It’s 9.50 for a dozen donuts! What a rip off. I rather go to the grocery store and get donuts. Will not be coming back ever!

I have eaten at a couple of Springfield Thai restaurants and this one was much to be desired. I guess what do you expect when you get Thai food from a doughnut shop. The reviews mistakenly lead me to waste my money. For $ 2 more I could have gone to BaiKhao (which is amazing!) or NoodlenThai (which is decent, but aphrodisiac compared to this place). I tried the pad thai and it was bland. The only actual flavor I tasted was paprika and chili powder. You know that you have a problem when you open your to go box in the car and everyone says, «what is that awful smell?». This place is nasty, don’t waste your money.

OK, here’s the deal… the donut shop has better seafood Phở than a lot of the restaurants. However, they are a little pricier, and they are only open until 3:00 in the afternoon. That means if you want to have some of the best Phở offered in the Springfield/​Eugene area, you have to have it for lunch! It is $ 9.95 for a bowl, but it is very flavorful. I would recommend it if you are in the mood for Phở.

Thai food in a donut shop. That’s kind of a multi star gig right there. And the food is actually good. The lunch prices are stellar at $ 5.95 for a big plate of food which, as R.T. commented, could rival most of the Thai restaurants in town. The regular dinner prices are more than fair, too. We got the spicy noodles, basically a Pad Kee Mao, and they had plenty of veggies and tons of basil. The tofu was a little over fried for my taste, but still good. The green curry was very decent. Not a ton of chicken, but a lot of veggies and a decently spicy curry. Not the most nuanced Thai cuisine you’ll ever have, but very serviceable and a good portion.
The place is very clean and bright, the owners seem friendly, and it felt like a little culinary adventure to eat Thai in a Springfield donut shop. I tried the apple fritter after lunch and though I haven’t had many apple fritters in my lifetime, I’m 9 months pregnant and it hit the spot.

Update: They raised their prices from $ 5.00 to $ 5.95. No big deal in my book. They still command great value even at 20% more cost. These guys own face.
