Dr. K seems to be an excellent internal med. vet, BUT he & his staff (2 women, both named Melissa) are atrocious at customer care/​customer service. The 2 Melissas aren’t friendly, welcoming or respectful to pet parents. And Dr. K and staff appear to be only interested in collecting the money their medical care brings in. I was very shocked by their behavior – I’m not used to this from vets! Vet care is now so costly ($ 2,400. for a liver biopsy for my dog!) that I was only able to afford the operation bec. I have pet health insur. Dr.K. agreed to be paid directly by the health insur co. However, on the day of the operation, I was verbally accosted by Dr. K & staff when I was about to leave with my dog: «You must pay us X amount before you leave!» and «We’re a business & must be paid!» (Duh !!! Of course they were going to be paid!) I was very insulted & will never go there again. The 2 stars are only for my dog’s medical care. E. W.

Two years ago, my cat was very sick with a mystery lung disease, and we were referred to Dr Kilrain by our general vet. At the time, the general vet actually didn’t think our poor kitty will make it. However, Dr Kilrain has been a miracle physician and today our kitty is alive and doing wonderful. This was a direct result of Dr Kilrain’s tireless effort of trying different approaches and medication, working closely with us, patiently and attentively listening to our feedback of our cat’s condition from month to month… until we found the treatment that worked. He was very thorough with explaining to us what is going on, there was never a hurried consultation. He was also very calm and completely knowledgeable… and from the first visit, we had complete confidence that our kitty is in good hands, getting the best treatment, whatever the prognosis may be. We cannot thank Dr Kilrain enough for all that he has done to save our little one.
