This is pub grub with a shot of freshness thrown in. The 6 degree salad isn’t unique, but is a winning combination. The Italian Beef horseshoe is inspired. The soup of the day was a sausage and kale cream soup with parmesan and clarified onion. Great service too!

The white cheese sauce on the horseshoe is really good. Fries are thin and crisp. Nice bar and friendly staff. Will come here again.

Breakfast was a disaster… started off with molded orange juice and ended with gross food… service was good though and that’s why I have given them two stars… I won’t be back

Back again and this time had a pony shoe. Everything about it tasted great. All good except for the fries which were so undercooked they were nearly raw. Burger was kind of small too but Cheese sauce was excellent! I’ll be back!

Very good place to eat. Cheesy white sauce on the horseshoes. Get the grilled chicken pony.

Outstanding experience. Food was so good, can’t wait to go back and try the 6 degrees salad. Angie was a fantastic host! Thanks for the stories

The grilled chicken is marinated awesomeness, my fave is grilled chicken pony(it’s a generous portion). The 6 degrees salad is my pick for the lighter side. If you want a family friendly atmosphere and homestyle cooking at reasonable prices try it out!

Quickly becoming one of my favorite local spots! Every new restaurant has it’s trials, but this one has never done me wrong!

If you can get past the sometimes bad service(seems to be when they have late teens serving), it’s a good lunch spot. Ive only had the salad plate, and I admit it’s my go to for a casual lunch when I need something comforting. I love the olive nut spread and the fact that I can get braunschweiger. Their cheese salad is really rich and good in small doses. I servings are huge but I wish they gave more crackers with it or didn’t make bread an add on.

We tried this place for the first time today and it was excellent! Great place for a quick bite and it was kid friendly which is a plus for me. The staff was attentive and polite and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Will definitely be going back

We just moved away from Springfield and were back in town visiting. We were recommended this place by a family member and it did not disappoint! The 6 degree salad was great(could have used a touch more fixings but the grilled chicken was great). The lobster bisque had a great flavor and the pony shoe was perfect. The service was fast and friendly and they had a relaxed vibe throughout the restaurant. We will definitely check it out when we’re back in town!

Just left Keefner’s and it was excellent. The atmosphere was great, the food and service were exceptional. I had a horseshoe and could not finish it. I’m a big guy, so that’s saying quite a bit. My wife and I highly recommend it. I know 5 stars is the max, but Keefner’s deserves 10 stars. Get there before it gets too popular and you have to wait an hour for a table!!!

Loved it. In town from Colorado and stopped in for a pony shoe. Very friendly staff, very good food and great prices. I like Darcy’s shoe when I’m in town but I liked the cheese sauce and fries better at Keefner’s. I have a new shoe stop! Keep it up. Thank you.

Great little diner. Good prices and they have fried bologna and braunschweiger! Get here early. There is often a short wait.

Had an awesome experience at Keefner’s this past Sunday. We walked in with 5 cranky kids, and 4 hungover adults. The place was busy, but they found us two tables right next to each other. The staff was extremely courteous, but not overly attentive… which was exactly what we needed. The food came out fast, and the quality was 5 stars across the board. Every time I come to Springfield I seek out a horseshoe, and I’ll put Keefner’s horseshoe up against every one of them! The kid’s burgers and pancakes were delicious as well. I would recommend this place for a family outing, or quiet lunch for two. Can’t want to come back on my next visit!

Not impressed but I’d give it another try if they are still around in a few months. I stopped in on one of their first days open and was admittedly there 15 min before close(had no idea they were there and didn’t know they were closing until after we were seated). The staff was eager to please but the menu had very few options, the bathrooms were really dirty a day after the grand opening, and all three meal that my party had were cold and left a lot to be desired. We didn’t complain because they are new and were nice(!). The concept is cool – it was an old lunch counter style eating spot in Springfield and they have old pics of the original place and the original signage. I have faith that they’ll get it together!!! Seems to be a hit with a much older(nostalgic?) crowd

Keefner’s is a new local restaurant near Leland Grove in Springfield, IL. It’s a great place that offers delicious food. I’ve had the horseshoe which is wonderful. The cheese sauce is great, and it can be compared equally to other horseshoes at different restaurants in Springfield. Great service and great atmosphere.
