I have worked in the Frisco Building for 3 months now and have been downstairs to the Frisco Crossing Restaurant a number of times. When I find something good I tend to stick with it for some time and I have found one of the best sandwiches in the universe… an Italian Panini. OMG, it is grilled in freshly baked focaccia bread, slam packed with ham and genoa salami, topped with provolone cheese, and marinated/sun dried tomatoes, plus some cream cheese. Goes for $ 5.79 and is a good sized sandwich. It is heavenly and I get a big cup of skim milk and a delicious large freshly baked chocolate chip cookie for a total of $ 8.47. They have all kinds of freshly baked goods and specials, plus a salad bar. The staff is extremely friendly and always happy to see you, often laughing and having a good time with their coworkers and customers alike. I am so happy it is simply downstairs from my office… I get my Italian Panini, milk, cookie, and open a good book to settle in for a relaxing lunch break. Others use the Wi-Fi and surf and there is always this pack of geeks surrounding two tables playing Mario Kart on their Nintendo DS machines, they probably work for O’Reily’s who has offices in the building also :-). I say geeks but I would have fun doing that too if I wasn’t so distracted by my Panini. The history of the surrounding area and the Frisco Building is very interesting especially for any of you railroad fanatics. You can be in here looking at their displayed antiques from the early 1900s and reading about the history while a present day choo-choo is wailing past on the tracks a block away from the door. They cater to the businesses in the building primarily but they also provide catering service in adjoined conference rooms for any gathering of folks and the room is large, the conf room can hold 74 and the regular dining area can take 74 also. They’re only open Mon-Fri and serve only breakfast and lunch. If you want to enjoy a good meal by yourself or as a business group for breakfast/lunch, you won’t go wrong at Frisco Crossing. I give Frisco a 4 out of 5 on the eye candy scale. I would go 5, most of the ladies are business type, classy/nicely dressed, and obviously have some intelligence. But, not exactly a pick up a chick type of environment, with the exception of the interns, my guess is most are married.
