Banh Mi Mia makes no pretense of fanciness or frills. But, they are focused on serving fresh Vietnamese sandwiches and snacks. Compared to when they first opened in 2013, the banh mi’s are significantly better. Prices are still $ 4 – 5 for one. The bread could be better as they aren’t really tasty nor are they french baguettes. When we were last here, we got the special combo and the bbq beef. The special was off and lacking meat, but the bbq beef saved the day as it was more flavorful and authentic tasting. They also serve a variety of cold snacks, drinks, and chips too.

Oh my. After reading some of the reviews given by other folks, I had to try this place. By fortunate chance I was in the neighbourhood today, and decided to stop in. What a treat. I ordered the BBQPork sandwich. I was impressed by the freshness of the ingredients. The lovely woman behind the counter was very courteous and friendly. As she was preparing my sandwich, she held up a pinch of sliced jalapeño peppers. I indicated that would definitely like those.(I definitely love those!) The restaurant is clean, and there’s a potted orange tree growing peacefully in the window. I was glad to see it. I haven’t seen an orance tree since I left California, but I digress. I took the food to go. When I got home I ripped into that sandwich. Wow. Serious flavour. Well balanced, nothing overpowering. THE best sandwich I’ve had in a long time. The prices are great. Parking isn’t as difficult as people make it out to be, but one caveat here– Surrounding shopkeepers haven’t shoveled/sanded, so the sidewalk is treacherous until you reach Bánh Mì Mia. THEY shoveled their walk, so it’s clear to the door. Everywhere else, though, it’s icy, icy, icy so be careful.

Ever feel compelled to hug a sandwich shop? This place is awesome. The banh mi is fresh, delicious, and dirt cheap. We’re partial to the bbq beef… and when you’re asked«large or small,» I know it’s counter-intuitive, but get the small! The large is like a big grinder roll, but the small is the perfect crusty-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside vessel for the pickled tangy sweet fresh meaty deliciousness that makes up the banh mi. And if you can’t wait until you get home and decide to dive in while driving, be prepared to hit up a vacuum afterwards; you’ll be covered in crust crumbs… COVERED! Like, stand up out of the car, dust yourself off, and keep a flock of pigeons busy for the better part of a day kind of coverage. Ahh I can’t even write this review without sparking a serious craving!

Delicious and fresh banh mi in town. Love this place. I love supporting a small family business who works so hard to provide the best quality foods/service they can to customers with pride. And, this place fits those criteria above. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Love the sandwiches and the fact that they are open at 8 a.m., and you see people picking up a sandwich for lunch then. I find traffic problems at the X to be exaggerated and never have an issue and sometimes patience called for but totally reasonable. They close on Tuesdays — I’ve gone at least three times then, always forgetting. Prefer the grilled pork and grilled beef sandwiches. Always get the shrimp rolls too, which are great.

Love this place! The lady/owner is super nice, the food is fantastic, and the price is a steal. I’d tried the cold cut banh mi and the bbq beef banh mi(best) which were so yummy and fresh. The fresh spring rolls were even better! I also tried the banh bao(steamed buns). I did not enjoy that as much as I didn’t really know what was in them(there were three varieties and I wanted one with sausage and egg) and when I asked her, she didn’t seem to understand too well. I ended up getting one that had egg, but they were very small little eggs and it was filled with a variety of other things like mushroom. It didn’t taste bad or anything, just not what I wanted at the time or expected. Try if you like a mystery hah! They take credit card and serve shakes as well — which I have not tried.

Didn’t get to try the food. This place is apparently closed on Tuesdays(in winter). Except that it’s July.

I LOVETHISPLACE! I’ve been fan of eating Banh Mi’s, and I usually get them in Worcester, but 5 years ago I moved to Springfield. I didn’t know where to get banh mi so every time I visited Worcester, I got tons of them to bring home. I heard about this place a few months ago and I wanted to drop by. The customer service is a bit odd since the lady that greets you, strictly speaks Vietnamese and my Vietnamese sucks. But she does understand what you want and I only get the one thing I love, the original number 1 banh mi. It’s my favorite and the most authentic Vietnamese sandwich I’ve eaten. I come by very often. Sometimes some days in a row for lunch. The price in the beginning for $ 4 for the number one, but now it’s $ 5 and everything else has gone up an extra $ 1. I’m a bit sad since now it’s a bit more expensive since i’m so use to it being either $ 3.50 or $ 4.00, but it’s worth the trip! They also have two different types of bread, but I get the bigger one. Will being coming back as often as I can!

Great Banh Mi place in the middle of Springfield, MA. I wandered in here during a lunch break and was surprised to see all of the authentic Vietnamese snacks and drinks that they offered. I’ve gotten a couple of the sandwiches and they’ve all been delicious and taste authetnic! I’ve always hated the Banh Mi places in Boston because they never taste like the real thing, but Banh Mi Mia is great! Shoutout for their Vietnamese Ice Coffee too! It’s a little expensive at $ 4 for a half a cup full of really concentrated iced coffee, but it’s tasty and super strong!

Holy moly! This place is legit! Too legit to quit!!! I grew up eating these things! My mom used to pack it up in my lunches for my school field trips! There is this ridiculously good sandwich shop that I used to go to next to the laundry mat off of Euclid in San Diego, and I loved that place!!! I introduced my boo to these sandwiches before we decided to roll out and move to the East coast, and he has been craving them! Ever since. Not no more, because we found this magnificent, mouthwatering shop. I swear I am drooling right now thinking about these sandwiches! The bread was toasted to perfection; the pâté was slightly salty, the meat was sweet, the veggies were fresh and the pepper gave it the kick it needed to take your taste buds to the limit! The Eagles«Take it to the Limit» runs through my head when I think of this place. If you have had a real Bahn Mi sandwich, you know what I am talking about! This place is freaking amazing. Not only that, they carry a few really hard to find items! I am absolutely stoked that I came here. My fiancé has been talking about hitting this place up before, and I was a little hesitant based on the way it looked from the outside. I am seriously punching myself in the face for ever thinking that! Craving goodness? Hit it up! This will be my new cheat place. Frigo’s I love you, but it is time for me to move on!

This is my new favorite banh mi place. Yes, the X is a PITA to get to, but it’s worth it. So far I’ve had the special combo, the bbq beef and bbq pork, the cold cut, and the tofu. Everything I’ve tried has been very good to excellent, with the exception of the tofu, which was oddly devoid of flavor and texture, but that was my only disappointment. They have nice fresh veggies, and as others have said, a choice of bread.(I like both, it depends on my mood.) I am particularly fond of the bbq beef and the special combo. I haven’t had a chance to try the couple other kinds yet, but look forward to it! Also, very fair prices, which makes this a great place to stop and pick up a quick and relatively healthy lunch.

Great bahn mi! My husband and I have had bahn mi all over the U.S. and this place is really good. Always get it with the smaller crustier bread, the other one is tempting, but you’ll be happier with the better bread. The flavors are fresh and bright and ingredients are good quality. Too bad they close early, but it is a go to for a good lunch.

Well I tried their spring rolls… Wasn’t the best but I need to try their sandwiches later on. For now, the springs rolls are not the best

You know what? This place is pretty much the platonic Banh mi shop(though it is not, I’m afraid, the 100% greatest Banh Mi sandwich I’ve ever had — which would require a long drive — it’s still darn good). It’s fast, fresh-tasting, and makes super yummy, super cheap sandwiches. I always get’em spicy, and recommend you do the same. If they ask you what kind of bread you want, go for the french roll — it’s the right answer. The location has recently moved a few doors down to what I think is a nicer storefront(the older one had a bit of a strange smell). The counter service has always been very nice, although a bit of a communication gap sometimes results in awkwardness, which I expect I’m the one generating…

Great Bahn Mi. So fresh, made to order and so inexpensive. One of the few places or only places besides a tropical island that you can drink freshly ground sugar cane water!!! Cute but small place. Five small tables. Ideal for take out. Family owned. A great place.

Amazing cheap sandwiches that are sure to surprise you. Banh mi Mia is run by the same family the operates Phở Saigon. If you are a fan of Phở Saigon you should try this place out. The service can be a little slow, but you will realize that each sandwich they make is carefully layered and presented to give you the best possible banh mi in the area. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve been to Bahn mi Mia many times now and I always leave happy. The food is so good, so fresh, so cheap. I’ve tried the BBQ pork, the BBQ beef, the cold cut, and the special combo and love them all. The staff is nice and it’s always fun watching the Vietnamese shows on the TV. If you want bahn mi in Springfield, this is the place to go.

Tiny but kitschy storefront that sells an array of Asian snacks, baked goods, and absolutely addictive sandwiches. The banh mi are available on two different kinds of bread, one traditional, the other your basic hero roll, and served topped with a small array of different and delicious ingredients. I’d stick with the roasted/bbq meats though as the«meatball» and cold cut were a little funky. Sandwiches are CHEAP! So order a bunch of them. Trust me, you’re going to want to eat more than one. Also, they accept debit and credit cards via a Square app, which sets them apart from many other mom & pop style restaurants in the city!

So completely worth the mission from Easthampton to try this gem. Excellent pork banh mi + equally tasty taro pastry bun for dessert. I cannot wait to go back. Such a cute little store too, albeit slightly off the beaten path. Plus, it’s extremely cheap!

Banh Mi MIA couldn’t get any better. Their banh mi are packed with flavor. They are so cheap you can get two and mix up the flavors. Or, one for $ 3.50 is perfect unless you’re really hungry. They have a large variety of banh mi: meatball, dried pork, roasted pork, roasted beef, tofu, a special, and others. They have two kinds of bread. One is the flakier bread and another is more of an american sub bread. They let you choose which kind you want. It’s definitely more of a take out place. Although, there are some cute little tables if you want to eat there. I usually eat one there and take on to go for later! They also have vietnamese pastries, steamed buns, desserts like flan and other gelatinous asian treats, bubble tea, sugar cane juice, and freshly made soy milk. I regularly stop in to asian pastry shops in Flushing and Chinatown to stock up on pastries and buns. This place is as good as the NYC places, but it’s in Springfield! How did we get so lucky? I’m really excited to have them nearby. They are really insanely cheap too. Some of the best things I’ve tried are the taro steamed buns from the cooler(seriously amazing), the green papaya salad, and the roasted pork bang mi. Everything I’ve tried so far has been great– not a single miss.
