Found this place by accident and am glad I did. I logged in to give it a good review and see some other reviews aren’t so great. First I think you have to know there is a big difference between ‘resale’ and ‘thrift’ store in my book. Resale(consignment type) means the shop splits the sale price with the owner of the item and the merchandise has been hand picked to be in this store. The quality is there and sometimes the prices reflect that. Where if you want a ‘thrift store’ head East on Rayford and watch for a store on the south side called«Hand Me Up» where all items are donated and priced very low. Expect it to be not displayed as nice and perhaps you have to dig a little. It’s a thrift store where you will find the real bargains but it’s hit or miss so go in often. I feel that some shoppers go into UR expecting it to be more of a thrift store and it’s not! UR is a consignment shop and you can find extremely nice outfits, jackets, coats, purses, shoes, boots, belts, scarves and jewelry! I bought a sweater/cami/and matching necklace all for only $ 20(bc it was small business saturday!). All where very nice items! I will be back Upscale Resale! The sales girls were very nice too!

I am a resale junkie. almost all of my clothing comes from this store. All of my jeans, t shirts and nice blouses for work and summer dresses and winter coats. I go often, don’t always purchase but feel very good about how I look!

I’m a regular shopper here and don’t have anything bad to say about it. I haven’t been on the consigning side. The clothes are in good condition and well sorted. The prices are reasonable, although not a steal. The dominant(but not only) clothing style for sale is not my style, but that doesn’t mean I walk home empty handed most visits.

Been here twice so far and have found lots of goodies at great prices. It’s clean, smells good and prices are very reasonable. Not a ton of items but everything is current styles and a good selection of sizes. Two thumbs up.

I was looking for the phone number when i ran across these reviews. I LOVE this place. I have been to other Resale shops, Thrift Stores, Salvation Armys, Never again since I found UR. Yes, if you like something, buy it, it may not be there on your next visit. There have been Many of times when I go back and YES, i purchased at the lower tier price. They are clean and very organized… they organize by size/colors. i have never come across anyone rude, but this shop does stay busy. When consigning, there are rules to abide by such as have your clothes clean, on hangers, in season, and somewhat stylish. Hope this helps. :)

I’d like to thank Sunny Q for her very informative critique on this resale shop. I’m new to Spring, TX(by 4 days) and have ‘bins’ loaded with an array of designer clothes, and the like, that I planned to take to UR. Reading the other reviews, I wasn’t sure I was going to even give this shop a try. But, Sunny, you put it perfectly with dissecting the reviews into concerns that would be important to you and/or someone like me. Obviously there’s no «business owners/operators» in the other reviews. UR is run just like Marshals, Sims or other discount shops that need to make a profit to keep their doors open. The pricing is graduated with the goal to move the merchandise. And, there’s no guarantees in any store, car dealership, or anywhere else with merchandise for sale, that it will wait for your return. Purchase, or not, at your own risk. Giving you a «heads-up», I have a good 100 pieces that are designer or better labeled clothing, with the tags still on, that I plan to place with UR before the end of this week. I will be supplying the store with more items as I downsize my closet selections. Giving you this advance notice is the least I can do to thank you for showing me that I must not allow other’s negativism influence my decision. I also anticipate the personnel to be courteous and professional. If there is a problem with that, I will address it ‘on the spot’ because I want to have a good outcome with my dealings with UR. It’s my responsibility to express my displeasure rather then go online and bad mouth those that aren’t able to defend themselves. Hope you find some ‘treasures’ within my items that I’m placing with Upscale Resale. Happy Hunting!

I disagree with the previous two posters in every way. I was looking for a resale option up north and found U.R. I almost didn’t go based on the reviews. I’m glad I read them closely to see what their issues were to see if they would be my concerns as well. First, the pricing, i LOVE the tiered pricing. I’m used to other stores in the past who did this and I think it’s a great way to get a deal on something. Yes, if you love it you should buy it when you see it. But that’s not any different from any store. If you leave an item at Macy’s, it may not be there when you get back. The employees: very pleasant, very helpful. I even called back a week later on an item I liked and left and they pulled it for me to pick up. Finally — the important thing — the clothes. I don’t know where they saw a lot of Junior League outfits. I didn’t see that. In fact, I went looking for designer /high end suits and blazers for work(I’m losing weight and don’t want to pay a lot for something that won’t fit in a month) and didn’t find a lot. There was a small selection of mid range brand suits and jackets(everything from Le Suit(blech!) to Evan Picone) — just not what I wanted in my size — typical of any resale shop. They only have what was dropped off. I found a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta dress for only $ 30. Perfect for weddings or brunch after church. YAY! I also found a cute INC blouse for $ 8.50. Purses, shoes and accessories looked pretty sad. Did I walk away with an armload of clothes? No. But I was happy with my purchases. I don’t really want to buy brands like New York & Company at resale because the quality is usually not good enough for a second owner. For that, you can shop at Plato’s closet. But still, I saw that brand as well as Express, The Limited and similar. I saw everything from low quality White Stag & George to a few designer options. So if you want it, there is probably at least one item in there for you. My advice, keep it in the rotation. you will find a lot of mall brand items(Express, Gap, Cache’, etc.), some junk(George) and a very limited number of high end items(Oscar). It’s a treasure hunt and can be fun. I am going to look at the resale shops on Westheimer and see how they compare.

I shop here fairly often, about as often as I shop anywhere since I hate wasting the time. I kind of like it because there’s less selection than a department store, so it doesn’t take as long. I agree with the previous reviewer that the prices are high for resale and much of the clothing matronly, but I mostly buy jeans there and the ones I find are always far less than what I would have paid at a department store. You do have to check closely for worn seams and the occasional stain, but it’s a much nicer place to shop than a goodwill or thrift store. She’s right on about some of the employees being incredibly snooty. It may be UPSCALE, but it’s still RESALE people, just a glorified thrift store. I don’t appreciate snooty salespeople at high-dollar stores, let alone a thrift shop!
