This is probably one of the weirdest grocery stores that I have ever been to in the US but I still give them a 4 star rating. From the time you pull up you feel like you are super cheap lol. They make you pay 25 cents for a shopping cart. I guess this is a smart way to prevent having shopping carts all around the parking lot but really? That was new for me. Once inside you will see a lot of items that are not name brand but surprisingly, at lot of them are actually really good. For example, their veggie chips, hamburger patties and rye bread, all of which are so high quality that I would consider high end premium items, are sold at pretty much dollar store prices. I have never even found this bread anywhere else and while its unique its very good. A I was surprised but their large selection of more natural and organic type of food items. I would not be able to do all my shopping at this store but since I pass it often it is worth stopping by. Their produce section is pretty small but has decent options and sometimes includes some good deals. They also have a section that has random products that rotate but I have found some cool items there are some great prices. They also have some popular brand name items at discounts. For example they sell Bolthouse drinks which are really good for about half of what the other stores sell them for. Then comes the checkout! Usually the staff are busy trying to do one of the other many task that they throw on them and get this, you also have to pay for the bags as well. I guess this could inspire me to start using re-usable bags but I wish they offered an option for bagging you items for you. Even if you purchase the bags, they still don’t bag your stuff. They a very convenient but awkward counter section on the other side of the checkout where you can stop and bag your own groceries. While I could never see myself doing all of my shopping there, its a good place to stop by and pick up a few items on the way. If you like to save money on select items, it might be a good place to explore.

If you want good prices on food this is the place to go. But make sure you bring your own bags or cardboard boxes. They don’t bag for you. They just scan it and put it back in your cart. There is a long bar that you can then pull up to and place your things in your bags or boxes. Cashiers are usually very friendly. Sometimes great deals on fish. Just can be kind of messy, and if they are short handed they are very short handed. Maybe one manager and one cashier, and the cashier may be putting up stock. It is nice to see that the cashiers get to sit, helps with all the work they seem to have to do at other times.

Remember Auchan? Well this store gives me a similar vibe. They save money by having less employees, not accepting credit cards, and selling their own brand(with the exception of a few items like Dove). Credit card processing fees are expensive. By only accepting cash, debit and EBT cards, it helps keep their prices low. which in turn saved the customer money. Who can complain? They have organic brands for a cheaper price compared to heb or kroger. I love that I can find most things here. Fruits and veggies are fresh. Milk comes from their«friendly farms». AND they have an assortment of Gluten free items! Hooray!!! I hope aldi doesn’t go away because I save a lot of money shopping here.

Can’t get over the way they have you pay for a cart and if you don’t then there’s no where to bag your groceries unless you go to a nearby counter. Aldi truth: go to H E B, cuz there everything’s better!

The newest addition to the Aldi chain, this store is conveniently located on the north side of FM2920 right next to Krimmel Middle School. With their grand opening just a few days ago, lots of perks were offered this weekend. Free reusable Aldi grocery bags were given at checkout(and your groceries were sacked for you, too!) along with«complimentary» cart rental. The store itself is set up very much like other Aldi stores; in fact, if you are a regular Aldi shopper, you’ll locate many of the same items in the same locations as their other stores. Employees were courteous and helpful and the store was clean and well-stocked. Prices are comparable to the other locations, as well, but there were certain specials(such as eggs for 99 cents) going on here. Couple that with the $ 5 coupon that was sent in the mail to local residents and I was able to save even more money than I usually do. Aldi stores are not for everyone, and I get that. But they sure cannot be beat for staples such as flour, sugar, cooking oils and sprays, bread crumbs, milk and eggs and certain produce. A discerning shopper takes advantage of what Aldi has to offer. I’m grateful that this location is situated where it is for multiple reasons: it’s easy for me to get to and it is at a controlled intersection on FM2920. An extremely busy road particularly on the weekdays, it can be quite dangerous to exit and make a left turn without a traffic light. Aldi has two entrance/exit points: one directly from FM2920, and then one off of the road that leads to Krimmel Middle School with a traffic light. Nice!
