We stopped Friday at 730 had the meet load dinner And my wife had the turkey dinner. At first the service was slow but when the waitress got going she was very good. food was worth the trip. will definitely go back.

I have eaten here twice. The first time was horrible. I ordered an omelet and it showed up at my table overcooked and flavorless. I ate there again 2 weeks ago, and had their hot turkey sandwich dinner. It was delicious, but had little turkey. for $ 11(approx) I expected more than what appeared to be 2 – 3 ounces of turkey. The stuffing was amazing, and the mashed potatoes were tasty(and I dislike mashed potatoes). It was after I ate and paid that I noticed I could have gotten the same exact meal for $ 3 less if I had ordered a sandwich instead of the dinner. I do stop in periodically and grab some of their peanut butter cookies or a slice of their carrot cake. Both are very delicious, if not expensive. I will continue going their for pastries, but not for dinner. Not worth the money for the slow service and small portions(visited mid afternoon, well after lunch rush)

I like the unique Loon omelet that is filled with cheese, wild rice and tomato and covered with a mushroom cream sauce with a side of housemade toast and jam. Today I had the spinach omelet filled with cheese, spinach, mushrooms, tomato, bacon and sunflower seeds. My daughter always gets the monte cristo sandwich. My husband got the steak sandwich that looked really good. Grandpa got his mainstay meatloaf sandwich. Grandma likes eggs and English muffin with peanut butter. I always drool over the bakery case, it always looks SOGOOD! Maybe I should just have desserts next time.

So I’ve never sat on the restaurant side but the bar side kind of leaves me speechless every time. Offensive things have been yelled at me across the bar because patrons are drinking heavily by 10 am. But I can get past that I guess because the food is GOOD. Comfort food to the max! Could use some upgrades, maybe a full remodel, but it fits the area of town well.

Always love a good Keys breakfast. We came here for Valentine’s breakfast and showed up about 5 minutes after they opened– super glad we did as it filled up fast in there! I got coffee and a pancake(yes, one, because they’re huge) and my husband got eggs, bacon and homemade sourdough bread and we also go the cinnamon French toast to share. My coffee was delicious and our lovely server kept my cup full and hot the entire time. Our food came out quickly and everything looked amazing. My husband and I are food sharers so I got to try a bit of everything! The cinnamon French toast stole the show. Super delicious and had that amazing crispness that I always look for. Nothing is worse than soggy French toast. My pancake was amazing– I like to use their homemade jam instead of syrup on it! Overall, an amazing breakfast. Next time I’ll have to make room for a caramel roll :)

Use to be one of my favorites. WHATHAPPENED??? Ordered eggs broken over hard and got over easy and runny. Told them to try again and was told that they can’t do eggs broken. ??? Wanted my English muffin toasted crispy. It came out looking crispy but was soft and mushy like it had been in a steamer to keep it warm. The«Loon» omelet was also ordered. It was filled with mostly wild rice with very few mushrooms, onion and no tomatoes that I could see. It ended up tasting bland and grainy in texture. The server was nice but the job was just beyond her capabilities. Just a bad experience.

This Keys was REALLYPRETTY. Natural hardwood floors, warm colors on the walls, big booths. A nice old-school rustic feel. Our server was a lovely woman, didn’t catch her name, who had an «eyeryone’s grandma» crossed with a tiny diner feel. Love it so much. As with all Keys locations, the portions are HUGE. I had the 85th st. Omelet(turkey, broccoli, white cheddar, hash browns). OMG yum. You could definitely tell that the ingredients were fresh, and while I was expecting a lunch meat style turkey, I was pleasantly surprised with shredded roast turkey! It was indescribable. So good. Overall win.

Food was great! I had the loon omelet hubby with the steak Benedict and kids with eggs sausage links and toast. The toast and jam was YUMMO! My 2 year old dint like eating toast or jam but he was definitely eating it here and they sell their jam! Bought a jar to go $ 5.09 after taxes. Will go here again!

Key’s Café has the best food, the turkey dinner is exceptional, real turkey, real mashed potatoes. Breakfast is better than anywhere else. We recommend Key’s for any meal.

I came in minutes after they closed on Labor Day to pick up my boss’ birthday cake.(I didn’t know they were closing early.) The two women there made it work and were as pleasant and I would have been on a holiday with a special request customer. Thanks, ladies, you saved the day for me!

Ordered steak… and I got ground meat that was smushed together to look like a steak. It was pretty gross and unsatisfying, especially for what we paid for. I know that many people like Key’s but… this wasn’t for me. Maybe the Key’s near como park, but… I’m not even going to try that location… too much PTSD from this experience.

It’s a breakfast you expect. Nothing crazy but is big and good. It’s the only place near cities we can find with homemade sour dough bread. It’s very good! Big cakes. Big rolls. Big servings. Bakery has tasty items to go too. Our standard order is cakes & French toast for little. Chicken fried steak and Greek Omelette for bigs.

What an awesome neighborhood gem! They have a fantastic dinner special very night. Service is what is expected, but what I come here for is the pie and desserts.

Come here every time I am in the Cities to visit my grandchildren. Every time Judy treats me like I am an everyday regular. The food is plenty and great. Always get the country potatoes with sausage patty and eggs. Got to try just one of there pancakes. You will love it. Enjoy and say Hi to Judy from Mark in Las Vegas!

Cheap, boring lunch today. I had soup and a burger. The service was good but the food was completely boring. The bacon cheeseburger with the thick slice bacon and the homemade dinner roll type bun definitely didn’t do it for me. Funny… fresh bun, high grade bacon… cheap ass frozen burger patty. The entire lunch was only 12 bucks so I certainly can’t complain about the price. I’d stop here for an iconic super huge portion breakfast and – possibly – for fresh pastries. Other than that, it isn’t worth the stop. –Daddy Maxx Retro

Key’s, though known for their Breakfasts has a nice verity of down home meals you can enjoy, from Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches Mashed Potato’s and Gravy to their Turkey dinner with all the trimmings, all are pretty good to eat, though you sometimes have to send them back to be warmed up, they are tasty in the end. The wait stuff is general ok if not that outgoing or friendly, but I have never had anyone terrible. A big thing I look forward too are the homemade pies and other goodies. Now for myself I always just buy the whole pie and eat a piece or two(If company wants some) and take the rest home. A whole pie costs about $ 12 bucks and are huge(8 pieces worth) while a piece will cost you $ 3.50 or more each, so just suffer through the whole pie, it’s cheaper! :) My Favorite, The Strawberry Rhubarb, is the greatest, and you can’t find it around town in general, let alone Good Strawberry Rhubarb!

Based on my experiences of dining at the Keys Café downtown Minneapolis, I really wanted this location to be good because it’s closer to where I live. Unfortunately, it was a big fail:( We dined here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was busy but not crazy busy. Our server was nice and friendly but the service itself wasn’t the greatest. Our food took forever to come and not one time did our server come by to check on our drinks to refill them. And even when our food finally arrived we had to ask her if we could get refills. Had we not asked, our glasses would have remained empty. Unacceptable. But the worst part about the experience was the food. The food at the downtown location has always been superb for me. The food at this location was barely edible. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. Everything was cold. The gravy practically had a glaze over it from sitting so long. The turkey and bread was so dry I had to swirl it around the glazed-over, cold gravy just to get it down. It honestly was the driest turkey I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had lots of dry turkey over the years. My kids had breakfast and they said it was just o.k. My wife said the same about her meal and she agreed it wasn’t nearly as good as other Keys Café locations. I probably won’t be coming back to this location anytime soon.

This has to be the prettiest of all the keys. A nice seating area, and the bathrooms up front might make it a favorite. I got my favorite roast beef hash with eggs OE. Beef was super tender. My only other beef is the serving of the toast. They butter it better than most, yet they don’t cut it, and they place it on top of the steaming hash browns. Chemistry 101 = soggy ass toast, at least the bottom slice. Can you spare a plate? They’re weird about condiments on the table, so you have to wait for the ketchup. This isn’t the case at the other locations I’ve been to. The bakery counter is a beautiful display of loads of desserts, whole cakes and pies, too. I think I convinced a couple that they should bring home a piece of house chocolate, also.
