Steak ‘n Shake

This Steak n Shake has gotten much better now that Louis is the manager. I tried a foot long hot dog today. It was all beef and thoroughly delicious. I used a coupon and it was only $ 2.99. It was between 2−5PM and I had a hot fudge and caramel shake for half price. I will be back soon.

It have been over a year since we have eaten at this Steak and Shake. The reason being that the service was so poor. We decided to give them another try tonight. When we first walked in i thought it might have been a mistake to go there again. I took awhile to be acknowledged or seated. Then when we go our table and sat down, everything changed for the better! Waitress was great, shakes were great and the food was really good. I think we’ll be going back a lot sooner.

Stopped for lunch. 7 tables in restaurant. Lots of staff but nobody seem to be doing the right thing. 2 girls rolling silverware while the people waiting 10 minutes to be seated. 2 more waitresses busy bussing tables although there were many clean. The cooks seemed to be working hard. However after waiting 10 minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant that was clearly staffed. It was all I could do from walking out and taking my business elsewhere. 10 more minutes for the flat unpersonal waitress to take order. Poorly ran business… think I’ll check out somewhere else next time. We’ve been here 30 minutes and still no drinks…

Stopped for lunch! Packed house as usual. Sat at the counter as long line waiting for seats. Waited on quickly but took a bit to arrive. Burger, fries were awesome as were the beans. All in all a good place and fast paced place!

They need to hire more staff. Just went through the drive through. And the poor girl was doing everything alone. My burger came out wrong and the fries were tasteless. Where’s the management running this place?

Walked in trying to get a hot hamburger. Saw 3 batches of 12 hamburgers trays cooked. We NEVER got our food. Walked out. Steak and Shake is overpriced. Their service sucks. Cook at home!

Worst. Steak and shake. Ever.
Sandwich came out ice cold and missing the bacon. The waitress was so poor I didn’t even have a chance to complain. The one half of my sandwich barely had a piece of chicken on it. The seasoned fries were nothing more than Cajun spice covering the top few fries. I will not return to this Steak ‘n Shake.

The steak burgers and fries are thin but very tasty. The milkshakes are good and the kids meals have a nice variety to chose from. The service is very slow and not very good. Overall a nice change from McDonald’s at a good price.

I have been here 4 times total. The first 3 were absolute disasters!!! The 3^rd time is the straw that broke the camels back! It was my son’s birthday and everything was horrible. The service was really bad. Me and the table next to ours had to constantly get up and ask for things. We saw the waitress maybe twice the whole time. The food was chewy and unflavorful. They NEVER brought our milkshakes out. Everything was so bad that i cried when i complained to the manager because i felt so awful that my son’s 5^th birthday lunch was ruined. And the manager was so rude (he was an older portly guy) and acted like he didn’t know what to say or do so he just said that i didn’t have to pay. I called a few weeks later and talked to a different manager who was so nice and i got a free meal and some coupons.
When i went to redeem the meal and get the coupons the waitress we had was SO nice but i think i got the older guy manager he argued with me saying that i had to pay for my meal and that i ONLY was allowed to get the coupons but i had to keep correcting him. But this Steak N Shake gives them a bad name. If i want to go to a GOOD Steak N Shake i’ll go to Largo. At least the staff and managers know what they are doing there!

Usually pretty good food and service. Don’t even try to eat there on Sunday morning. Not big group friendly. Foods good but smaller portions. Excellent milkshakes!

The food is really mediocre and way to overpriced for the quality of food it is. Ice chips in the 3.49 milkshakes. Honestly, mc Donald’s and Burger King is way better tasting and cheaper.

The food was good but the service was not as stellar. We waited for about 10min for a table when there were tables available then We waited for menus. We also had an issue with a promotion. We were told a promotion for a milkshake was not current even though it clearly states in the app it was. When our food did come several things were missing or wrong. Seemed like the girls working behind the counter were more interested in leaving then helping us, I think their shift was over.

I have eaten here several time, and everything was descent, but the past two visits was the worse, both times we waiting for a menu for at least 10 to 15 minutes, last night was the same. I have a seven year old who was getting impatient and to wait that long just for menus was not worth the wait anymore.
I did contact customer support that same night (9:20 pm EST) and she took my information and the issues. I was told I would hear back from someone in management, and as i write this review, I have only received an auto-​generated email.

I have been here a few times with my Daughter. The food is always good. If you get Breakfast tacos, They look nothing like the advertisement, there is a lot less filling than one would expect. My Daughter loves the Grilled chicken Sandwich. It is a 6 dollar sandwich though. I went through the Drive thru today, Just to get coffee, and a bag of ice. I told the cashier that I wanted cream, and sugar with my coffee. She told me they ran out of cream, and they don’t carry sugar, only artificial sweetner. I said are you kidding me? She assured me that was the truth, another team mate came over, and said it is true that they don’t carry sugar.
I then asked them how often they cleaned the ice machine. The same cashier said Never. I said Really? She said all we do is fill from the machine we don’t clean it. Afer all the shows I have seen, where they find Roaches, Mold, and mildew in the machine, I was a little upset.
When I got home, I called Steak and Shake, and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to Astrid. She assured me they clean the ice machine quarterly. That they were not out of sugar, but were out of cream. She said she would talk to the person on Drive thru. She also apologized.
Obviously, the staff need a lot more training. or better training. I am not thrilled with the customer service, nor the consistency of food. I will give it another shot, might be awhile though.

I gave it 5 stars, for price, and that the crew worked hard and were understaffed. double steakburger w fries 4 bucks; coffee .99 cents. food was right off the grill; fries were great. they only had one guy making ½ price shakes for 1.75; so, the wait is long. but after seeing a few in the room– i’ll definitely be back to try one. beats wendys.

The food is amazing at this steak and shake. The only problem with it is that it is not at all consistent. Some days my fries are just the way I like them and other days they are soggy as if they were soaking in water. The staff is very friendly and they are always willing to mold to the needs of the costumer. They lost two starts for the food not always being consistent.

I have also experienced poor service «at times», but not enough from keeping me from going there. Also recently relocated to Florida and have found service to be spotty at various food joints. If service gets too bad, I hold them accountable and ask to speak to a manager. If you don’t complain about the service, then the manager cannot spot the problem quicker.
Eventually, that server may get booted.
I know that by not going there, that also sends a message, however, these places remain busy. By complaining, maybe we can improve the quality of service?

My recent visit to Steak N Shake was GREAT! The server/​waitress was very professional and experienced!
Margaret,(a ten year employee), was extremely friendly and struck up a conversation with my fiancé’ and me… she was wonderful! Chocolate shakes were great and food was hot and delicious!

Great price for the quality of food you get! I have only been here twice, both times at 5:30am, so I can’t say much for how the joint operates during meal times. But I have been happy both times. Though I must point out that service was mediocre both times I was there. My group and I were the ONLY ones there, so there is no excuse for poor service when you are the only customer.

We love going there… My wife always enjoys the dish soap blend sweet tea… give it a try.

Steak n shake is absolutely delicious. However, I have never been to a restaurant that had good service. I go there to always guess what will be wrong this time.
However, aside from that, the food is usually always good, regardless of the misinterpretation of the order. They are famous for burgers and milkshakes and do not disappoint.
