Played this course yesterday and was not impressed. The rate was great, but they say you get what you pay for. Check in was friendly and helpful. Grabbed a cart and went to the range. The range was not well maintained, more dirt than grass, and only three markers to aim for. The practice bunker was not well kept, either. Finished warming up and went to the first tee. There was no marshal to start play, so we got in line thinking our 1:00 tee time was on schedule but another foursome came up to us and said they were 12:53. Not a problem but unsettling. Practice green was okay. Several tee boxes were more dirt than grass also. Fairways okay for early March for the most part, but some had ruts and holes. We saw a larger animal burrow in one of the fairways on the back. The greens were in good condition. As we made our way around, a very rude marshal came up to us a couple of times to speed up. The first time was legitimate as my partner was playing a little slow, but the second time we were barely one shot behind. We didn’t see him on the back, and he never officially introduced himself as a marshal. It felt like we were inconveniencing him by our very existence and is enough of a reason to not come back. The course has a great layout and lots of potential, but more attention is needed on the tee boxes and fairways to make it a course worth playing. That and a marshal that treats you with respect.

Heddles Hideaway was a very fun course to play. It would be good for any level of golfer, beginner or pro. I went out with a group of my friends and had a great time. The greens and fairways were both in great shape. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a chili dog on the way out, and let me tell you it was delicious. All in all had a great day at Heddles!
