Been a customer/​friend of Planet DJ for many years not only exceptional personal service but the knowledge to back it up. Ceasar is my go to guy any time I call night or day he has even given me a number to call if I get jammed up at a gig. (who does that) probably the most important things to me is that they never try to sell me on something I don’t need just for the sale, that’s integrity at its finest!

I am so thankful for Planet DJ. Every time I need something or have questions, they go out of their way to help me. Cesar will explain in great detail about the product so I am knowledgeable. I financed 8 up lights, the financing company has been the most pleasant experience I have ever had. They really care about me being successful. I owe most of my success to the company and staff at Planet DJ. Sincerely they are the best.

I walked in, looked around for a few minutes before a big dude appeared behind the counter. I said hello and asked him how his day was going, he didn’t respond. After wandering the store for about 5 minutes he asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. I told him I’m looking for the Korg Volca Keys, to which he simply replied «we don’t have that.» And stared at me.
Dude obviously didn’t want to help me or sell me any musical equipment. Which is funny, because the sales person at guitar center told me to come here when they didn’t have what I wanted.
There’s a reason I haven’t stepped foot in this place in like 5 years, I guess.
Poor service, poor salesmanship. I gave 2 stars because I could at least get into the store.

What an awesome experience! These guys not only know their stuff, but they’ve got an EPIC showroom with dozens of lights and speakers to demo. They walked me through everything that was within my budget and didn’t pressure me to buy anything. They price matched competitors too! I got some great gear with a great experience and I’ll definitely be back! Thanks guys!

Do not buy from this company. They use very deceptive sales practices. I purchase an item off of their website. I call to return it and they tell me that it’s non returnable. When I ask where on my receipt or invoice, it states this, they tell me it doesn’t and that it’s only on the website. They are extremely rude on the phone, if you can get them on the phone. It took 4 phone calls to get a response from these people. Use

The worst ever possible experience, buying from PlanetDJ! I placed an order with Planet DJ on the 5^th of February and also applied for credit since their website had the option of financing. NOTE to all buyers out there that what they offer on their website offering financing it is not a TRUE credit. Everyone’s perception of credit is that when you are approved you are then ready to utilize your credit and make your purchases right? Wrong, that is definitely not the case here. PlanetDJ’s website also states that approval is in minutes, this is absolutely FALSE! Let’s get started. I placed an order for two professional Pioneer Turntables (PLX-​1000), PlanetDJ assured me that they were in stock and they are ready to ship. Now let’s go back to PlanetDJ’s so called financing. When you apply for financing, Leasenation (The financer) will contact you and tell you if you were approved, only individuals with a business can apply (They DO NOT STATE this on their website), I had my mobile DJ business so I was approved. This is how their so called financing work, you get approved, you wait until Leasenation (Their Financer) transfers the funds to PlanetDJ’s account, and then you get your items shipped. This credit process of theirs takes a week to complete, by that time I was only left with one turntable and my order is now on backorder. They sold my items because they said they cannot hold anything until they get paid! WHAT? I thought I was just approved for financing? Their reason was that I was the first customer to be using the credit process and they have no idea themselves how it worked. That’s unacceptable.
When I was approved for their so called credit, I decided to add items to my order, I called a few times and every time they answered the phone, they were rude, I actually had to ask if there was a problem with them answering the phone in a couple of occasions. Their finance person (Debbie) was unhappy that I added more items to my order and purchased more. A business would be happy and excited when a customer buys more correct? But unfortunately PlanetDJ is the opposite. Their order status page always showed the wrong quantity of the items ordered, you need to send them a message frequently via their websites instant message and they inform their web person to update it, and at the end of the day the status is wrong again. Status updates from PlanetDJ is extremely poor! As I was getting ready to cancel my order for the last turntable that I am still waiting for, they told my financer (Leasenation) «We are receiving his item today», that was false, and it was actually a week later that they were receiving them. So overall I am staying away from this company.

Haven’t purchased from Planet DJ for a while but I stumbled across them and had to put my review in. All in all, this is a great local business and if you need DJ equip in Reno/​Sparks, its not a bad choice… however, I seem to have had continuous bad luck with many of the products I purchased from them.
The sales people will spend a while telling you why you should be weary of buying online from other retailers and make you feel like you can trust their products because they are an authorized retailer… but I’ve had many of my purchased products fail or not be on par with what I expected or what I had paid for them. Also, they say they will price match but then only do it for the competitors they WANT TO!
I am just disheartened with how many times I have had issues with the items I have purchased — lighting, LEDs, lasers, fog machines, etc.
Do yourself a favor. Head on down to Guitar Center! Great selection, knowledgeable staff, stuff set up to view and play with, GREAT COUPON DEALS, and price matching! PLUS they offer great extended warranties and NO BS!

Good prices… BUT they have a ridiculous bunch of policies in where they charge you upwards of 15% to return an item if your not satisfied. This was ridiculous to me because of the fact that everything was brand new, and their whole «Satisfaction guaranteed» motto does not hold up!
Next time ill just stick with Amazon, in where if I am really not satisfied, I won’t be penalized!

I’ve bought from planet DJ several times over the years and most recently I purchased an Allen Heath mixer from them.
Their service was great and they worked hard to accommodate my drop ship request. They always responded to my anxious calls regarding the delivery date too and did it with a smile.
Also, they price matched a competitors sales price without making me jump through a bunch of hoops.
Thank you Planet DJ, I love my mixer!
