Best tacos in town, the taste, flavor keeps to its original state. I came here once a week and they never fail. Nice place and simple, the price is fair and they put a lot of meat on the tacos. This location is better than the one in Sands Casino. I highly recommend this place. The best.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The meat is the best in town hands down. Al pastor tastes just like it should. Sanitary and loved being able to see the meats cooking and watching fresh made tortillas being made to order. Thank you!!!

I had some of these tacos at the cinco de mayo celebration. My mom had warned me that they weren’t good, but I decided to try them out for myself. BIG mistake!!! The carne al pastor doesn’t even look like all pastor and it lacked flavor. Some of them tasted rancid I couldn’t even finish eating them and my husband ended up eating most of them. Sorry I hate leaving negative reviews, but me being someone who has tried a lot of taco places know what I’m talking about.

I want to like this place, after all it’s across the street from my friend’s market. But where do I start? No literally, where do I start? As soon as you walk in, it’s the dining room. You have to track past all the diners to get to the ordering station(on the right) and cashier(on the left). After gazing around and seeing a few people just standing around, I had ask if anyone is in line. Luckily they all ordered already and so I ordered and then did a 180 to the cashier to pay. Sounds confusing? Sure is. Good news is the tacos are bomb! Bad news is, goddamn it’s pricey for this neighborhood. South Reno, I’d expect to pay $ 2 for a original style taco but in this end of town, a lot of other joints got tacos for $ 1 to $ 1.75 at most. Would I come here again? Yeah when I’m visiting my friend but I won’t go out of my way or I’ll hit up the drive through so I don’t have to deal with the cluster fish in the dining room.

Best tacqueria I’ve ever seen in Reno/Sparks area! Delicious, traditionally prepared meat. Cabeza & suedero were both delicious, especially cabeza. They offer grilled green onions & jalepenos like back in TJ. Condiment bar not up to TJ quality. Missing radishes, salsa fresca, rojo, quacamole, etc. They do make tortillas in-house for a premium cost otherwise u can get the shitty, days old factory made tortillas.

I have never been to Mexico, but I have heard how amazing the street food is there, and it doesn’t compare to America, so I was really excited to try what is supposed to be Authentic Mexico Taco’s in Reno! A coworker of mine asked me if I had tried El Original Tacos Tijuana(EOTT), and I hadn’t, but he kept asking me. Today, I was hungry for tacos and decided, I am ready to find a new place to love the EXCELLENTEAUTHENTICFOOD. EOTT sounded like the CURE I needed for my constant taco CRAVING! I arrived shortly after 1PM, there were 2 ladies in front of me and no one else there. I didn’t know how to order so I asked the nice young lady who greeted me upon arrival(Big Ups), how do I order? It’s a strange setup, so she said you order with the cook. I went up and he said he would be with me shortly. It took quite a while before I was able to order(5 minutes of standing there awkwardly to place an order), finally another group of 3 additional diners arrived, and 1 in particular was standing to close for comfort to me, and the other asked if I ordered, and I said I hadn’t, and this one person still stood in my space. Finally, the cook said he would take my order, meanwhile another employee came from the back, put gloves on and was taking the later patrons order before me, and preparing their food, they paid and left before I even got my food. Oh well, I am here for delicious meats, and I can forgive a few transgressions if the food delivers, and I got a recommendation from a coworker who said this place is the best. I order: 1 pollo taco $ 2, 1 asada taco $ 2, 1 chorizo taco $ 2, 1 asada tostada $ 2, and 1 asada quesadilla $ 4. After you order, I guess they expect you to stand there, because they ask you not to sit down, but wait, get your tray, pay, and then sit. I did sit, because I’ve already been standing there for a quite a while before I was able to order, and I find it awkward to continue to stand there like a dog begging for his food to come out. I can understand if I was in Mexico this might be normal if you are on street, but in a restaurant, I don’t know why the girl can’t take your order, deliver the ticket, everyone relaxes, then she grabs your tray, brings it to the register, you go up and pay her, grab your food and sit down. I think most Americans will find this ordering system at EOTT foreign and unlikable. Also, I saw some posts about seeing tortillas fresh made, today that was not the method, I saw them pulled by order by the chef, then just put on the grill after a quick dip in something. I got the food, and nothing was impressive, everything was boring in the flavor department, which this is probably my first time this has happened considering what I ordered. I started with the chorizo, boring, greasy and little flavor. The pollo a little bit better, but not exciting. The asada was like a roast, charred at the ends, well done large chewy pieces, little seasoning, and little flavor. Overall, I would never order the asada again, and it’s a rare day when I don’t like steak! I wouldn’t actually order anything I ate today ever again. I love asada, and even the quesadilla was strange, there was hardly any cheese(I saw a post where she says it’s a quesadilla, so look at the picture), it was more like a flour tortilla with a small sprinkle of cheese, baked, then a lot of asada put on like a taco, served open face with a crispy corn tortilla over it. I ate it like a taco. It’s served on the small paper plates. They had NOHOTSAUCE available, I REPEATNONE. I saw a post about the free sauce, either they used to have it, and don’t now, not sure, but I did see carrots, peppers, limes, and radishes only. I have never a Mexican restaurant with no hot sauce or any sauce available, or at least sauce on the side, any sauce might have helped with the severe lack of flavor, especially some sauce w/HEAT! Overall, disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t eat there again. It was a sub-par performance and I hope this isn’t authentic and if it is, I would never look forward to eating street tacos in Mexico!

I walked in and got hit with that really great roasting meat smell you want to smell. Smell plays a big part of the experience. If you walk into a BBQ place and it doesn’t smell like BBQ or wood smoke then it kills the experience. I grabbed a 4 tacos. Tongue, Head, Al Pastor and Azteca(cactus). Gotta say I really enjoyed them. The tongue was super tender but still had that great beef flavor. If you love things like pot roast or slow cooked meats tongue has amazing flavor. The Cabeza(head) was tender as well and had just enough fat to make it that good kind of greasy. I asked for the El Pastor with Pineapple on it and it was great. Definitely a great balance of sweet and spicy. El Pastor is cooked with pineapple juice so it’s not really that weird to order it that way. The Azteca was good, a little on the slimy side but that’s cactus for you. Everyone was super friendly and very quick. I have to say that I really enjoyed myself a lot. Sorry but I ate the tongue and head tacos so quick I didn’t snap a pic. As always… Stay Sweet.

For my first visit to this little place I was totally wow’d. I walked into great smells and cooks singing and a very simple menu. This is a cool spot. The young lady behind the counter is very pleasant. The staff was all super and me with the picky way I eat they were all very accommodating. The corn tortillas are fresh made and boy oh boy does that make a difference. I had Taco al Pastor and Taco de Chorizo. Then I could not resist the Campechana Fries(Fries covered in Pastor and Asada). I had a very nice lunch and very much look forward to trying more things off this awesome menu.

I’ve had tacos from Mexico City. The best tacos I’ve ever had and served under a minute and 30 seconds. People get down over there! El Oringinal Tacos Tijuana was an awesome dining experience. Now I can only speak for the 2 times I’ve been there and I have to say it was just as good as the first time. I went in the morning(11:30am) and at night(10:30pm). Both times bomb as fuuu… Enjoyed tacos de cabeza, al pastor, suadero, y de asada, and man they were all good. Don’t have to go to separate avoid certain meats at certain loncheras anymore. Can get everything I want in one place. Highly recommended! Place is clean, quick, drive-through is now open(thank God!) and the service is great. Owner cares what you think. If something is off tell them, they are more than happy to make things right, they want you to come back. Hmm… what else? Oh, where the hell can you find suadero?! Try it out you won’t be disappointed. Oh and GRILLEDONIONS, JALAPENOS, ANDSALSAAREFREE!!!

THEABSOLUTEBESTPLACE! I loved that it was authentic and had the nicest people. Road tripping home and it was fast and good, 2 $ for tacos, that’s a dream. Get the quesadilla, amazing and so cool to watch them cook, they put the cheese on the griddle first! Am I the only one who hasn’t heard of that? Best Mexican food in America no doubt.

Just moved from AZ a few months ago and I couldn’t find a really good taco place, until tacks Tijuana opened up. Hand made tortillas and food is prepared right in front of you. My new favorite taco place! Tacos are so good and the flan is homemade and its the best I have ever had!

Best tacos in Reno, similar to Gordos tacos. The tortillas are made fresh and there are plenty of meat choices.

Tacos, tacos and more tacos! Sure, your standard pollo, carne asada and pastor, yet they also feature suadero, buche, lengua, chorizo, cabeza and tripa! All made fresh before your eyes with hand pressed masa to make the tortillas. Clean, friendly, high energy and new… this has become my favorite taco place! All tacos for $ 2, including the Azteca, which comes with a wedge-shaped piece of cactus on it. Where else do you find this culinary creation??? #lovethisplace

Do you ever have that feeling you are running on empty, and your human gas tank needs to be filled asap. Coffee and a muffin will only carry you so far. I found myself driving down prater and remembered there was a taco restaurant there. El original Tacos Tijuana. This establishment has been many taco restaurants, so hopefully this one makes it. The minute i walked in i was greeted and asked if this was my first time there. The menu was explained to me, and i ordered at the counter and was told the meal would be brought out. This is where it gets good. They brought out my three chicken tacos, which looked incredible, but following the tacos was the kitchen manager. He sat down and asked me what i thought of the tacos. This was very refreshing, i spent 15 minutes talking to jose, and to say that he is passionate about the food is an understatement. Everything is fresh, the chick ere n is grilled not boiled, the guacamole has only salt in it, so they are constantly stirring it so the surface does not turn black. The salsa is homemade as is the corn tortillas. Nothing comes from a can. After jose was done explaining how they make everything, he brought a sample of carnitas and tongue. Got to be truthful, tongue kind of grosses me out. But it was very good, so much flavor and the texture was like a medium rare cut of meat, it like melted in your mouth. The chicken tacos were excellent. They had so much flavor with a slight kick at the end. The fresh cilantro and onions really added to the homemade salsa. I definitely will be back for a touch of Tijuana.

Fresh-made corn tortillas and a dollop of guacamole are what make tacos distinctive at El Oringal Tacos Tijuana. This is the sister store to Tacos Tijuana in the Sands. They offer several kinds of meats for tacos and similar foods, like tostadas. What they don’t offer here are burritos, tamales or enchiladas. No rice and bean combos either. I asked if they marinate their chicken here and they said they don’t so I order a chorizo taco, suadero taco(fried beef flank) and Taco Azteca, which is with catcus. All were $ 2 each. It was interesting to see the woman making the tortillas as you ordered. She would put the blob of dough in the wood press, press it and throw it onto the grill. The suadero taco was my favorite of the three, It had nice beef flavor and crispy texture from being fried. I think I like ti better here than at Los 4 Vientos. The Taco Azteca was okay. The cactus didn’t stand out. I didn’t like the chorizo. It tasted burnt and generally was a little too gooey. They had basic fountain and bottled drinks available. The staff was friendly. They have a vehicle parked in the drive through, so it doesn’t look like they will be operating the drive through. This location behind Jack’s Coffee Shopo has housed several restaurants over the years, almost all of them Mexican restaurants. At one time, pre-Yelp, it was the location of the best place I knew of in the Truckee Meadows for burritos. Nothing seems to catch on here.
