I drove by Dee’s the morning of my first day of work, just as I remembered I hadn’t eaten breakfast and I had forgotten my diet coke. It seemed fortuitous and so I popped in to check out what they have available and take care of a caffeine craving. Dee’s is a sit-down café as well as having pastries and sandwiches to go, so it fit the bill perfectly. The chef whipped me up a ham, egg, and cheese croissant for $ 5 and it was delicious and gigantic(except for a slightly over-toasted croissant, but nothing terrible). The eggs were freshly scrambled, unlike those over-processed egg patties you get pretty much everywhere else. It’s definitely something I’ll consider again in the future. I’ll skip the diet coke next time though, as a can(yes, a regular can) sets you back $ 2, which is just ridiculous.

I adore this place so much! I had my baby shower here and am sooo happy I did! I’m having a baby girl and wanted a tea party theme. This was the perfect place. I chose ‘Afternoon in Paris’ menu and she let me modify the menu a little. Dee’s crust less sandwiches(my personal favorite was the chicken cranberry sandwich) were to die for! Everyone loved the food and the desserts! She let me decorate however I wanted and was very helpful if I had any questions or needed any help setting up. I planned this from Georgia(family & friends are here) and Dee made it very easy for me. I highly recommend this place!

We chose Dee to bake our wedding cake after we stopped by and did a taste test with her. Not only is her cake amazing, but she sat with us and described all the steps that hiring her would entail and all the options we had for her to bake for us. The fact that the person who would actually bake our cake gave us so much of her time helped us make the decision to go with her. The night before the wedding Dee called The Lady and said that she felt a small aspect of our design was not working for the overall aesthetic look of the cake. She gave us an alternative for the small flaw she saw and we went with it. We both very much appreciated her looking out for us when it came to the design of the cake and for taking time to call us and keeping us involved with the cake’s design. On the day of the wedding the cake was delivered on time and it was more beautiful than we could have imagined. It also tasted amazing! On a side note, the rest of the food she dishes up at the restaurant is pretty great as well. We have stopped in for breakfast and I have picked up lunch a couple of times from here and have never been disappointed. Thanks for everything, Dee!

A couple months ago, I was looking for a vendor for my wedding cake. I looked at the cake pictures for this place and I figured this bakery would be the perfect vendor. I emailed the shop on their website 2 times, and never received a response back. Looking into more reviews via wedding wire; the ‘professionalism’ for this company is an all time low, and some couples who purchased were completely upset.

Had some desserts brought in for a meeting by bankers. The brownies are tremendous, highly recommend.

Very disappointed that I called to ask a few questions about ordering a cake and I was told that Dee was in a meeting and so the gal took my number to have her call me back and it’s been 3 weeks and I still have yet to hear anything. Guess they don’t want my service.

As wedding photographers, Vesta and I have eaten more than our fair share of wedding cake and we’ve seen even more, because we make it our business to know everything we can about weddings, wedding venders and everything that goes into making a wedding work. As for wedding cakes, to start out with, they should be gorgeous sculptures that really set the mood for a wedding reception, cuz everybody’s gonna be looking at it. You might think I’m kidding, but an ugly wedding cake made by granny, who can bake a delicious chocolate delight, as long as it’s only two layers and round, can really put a damper on an otherwise fine reception. Especially if everybody’s waiting for it to collapse under it’s own weight. And secondly, it really helps if they taste as good as they look. A cake so dry that it’ll suck all the moisture right outta your mouth, before it’s even all the way in, is a real bummer, no matter how beautiful. However, I’m pleased to report that Dee’s wedding cakes are both beautiful to behold and wonderful to eat. Vesta and I have had their delightful cakes at a couple weddings and loved them. And Sunday last, we were working the wedding faire at the Nugget and they had a booth down the center aisle, not too far from us, and knowing how good those cakes were, well, I had several samples, you know, just to be sure before I wrote this review.

Used Dee’s to make the cupcakes for my wedding. They were so friendly and provided such a wonderful customer service experience. My cupcakes were also beautiful and decorated perfectly to fit the theme of our wedding, not to mention delicious! A total hit with my guests! Highly recommend!

Amazing food!!! I absolutely loved and enjoyed The Classic with a Belgian Waffle on the side. You can see it’s a family run business and you feel right at home while eating there. I would definitely recommend you give it a try if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed.

I have had the pleasure of working with Dee a couple of times now. She volunteers her skills, time, and cakes to local Make-A-Wish children to celebrate their wishes. But, more importantly, her cakes are DELICIOUS. I tried the chocolate, and it was heaven.

I needed to order a cake for my 25th birthday party. I normally order at Isabel’s because is close home and they are really good, but they were overbooked because of UNR graduations. So I found this place on Google I called(after calling several places and hearing they were overbooked) they told me to do there. I went and Dee the owner help me pick a perfect design. I didn’t want to be to picky because I knew I was out of time. This was a Thursday and I needed the cake for Saturday. That day I tried a chicken sandwich with the best garlic sauce in Reno. The bread and everything was so good! So while I was eating my sandwich I read some bad reviews about cakes and I got super worried. On Saturday when my cake arrived was just perfect! Beautiful and special just what I wanted for my 25th birthday. When I cut it and gave it to the guests they all loved it. I loved it too! Thank you Dee’s for my amazing cake! You saved my birthday!

Due to the Unilocal responses and their new location my husband and I tried Dee’s for the first time. We were disappointed in both the service and the food. Our coffee was never refilled and no one ever checked back with us after bringing out our food. I ordered the fruit cup, $ 4 and it was literally a very small cup size portion, which consisted of melon that was so hard I couldn’t eat it and a few blueberries. I find it hard to believe the owner would even serve it since it wasn’t ripe. I had to take it back up to the counter & ask for better fruit. I was then given a cup of strawberries for $ 4.00(at least they were ripe). No apology or anything! The cinnamon roll was good(a little dry), but nothing special. My husband ordered an omelet and hash browns. The potatoes were limp and barely warm. The restaurant was clean, cute, and tastefully decorated; however, it’s too bad our first time there wasn’t better since we enjoy going out for breakfast. Sadly, we will not be returning.

I read about this place and i thought i would give it a try. It is nice to find a new breakfast place other than the norms. Dee’s Bakery is tucked away off McCarran, in the same strip mall as woodys sports bar. The establishment is very clean and well lit. I was seated right away and served coffee. The also serve espresso and latte’s, but i choose the regular joe which was q uite good. The menu is not huge and overwhelming, i chosse the lumberjack omelet which comes with hashbrowns and toast. The omelet was very fluffy and light and full of flavor. It had bacon, ham onions, peppers and mushrooms. The hashbrowns actually had flavor and were very good. They were mixed with onions and mushrooms. The sourdough toast is the only thing they do not bake there, they get it from Truckee Sourdough. Overall i was extremely pleased, definitely will be back

This area needs Dees. Family run place that you can sit down at. Lots of workers looking for a good meal in this industrial area. Been once for breakfast and lunch. Service is friendly. No aloofness here. Seems they are still learning themselves. Food: Both meals seemed homemade to me. Portions felt just right. Price felt even better. Coffee was good just black, which I take to be a good sign. Baked goods: Now these were great. A smudge pricey. I didn’t see any organic or local ingredient signs to validate a 1.50 for one cookie; buy when I ate it I forgot the price. It was great. Con: cannot leave a tip on your card on their current system. Pro: the owner is there every day so quality control is constant. Very excited to become a regular.

My mom and I stopped in for lunch and some goodies a few days ago, and we can say for sure we will be back. I had a grilled cheese on sourdough with tomato soup, and my mom had the meatloaf sandwich. The grilled cheese was nice and crispy, and went very well with the soup. Mom said the meatloaf was moist and delicious, but more importantly, the coffee was good. They serve it in cute little mugs with funny coffee-related quotes on them, which I thought was neat. This is a nice spot for a light lunch, and service was fast despite having three groups come in all at the same time. We ordered several bakery items after lunch, which were a bit pricey, but not overtly so for a place like this. First up were two chocolate drop cookies at $ 1.25 each. The chocolate was a bit more fudgey and chewy than I expected, but it went well with the crumbly cookie. Next we had two Russian wedding cookies, also $ 1.25 apiece, which were average(as wedding cookies go), but tasty. I would buy them again. Third item on the list was a cherry danish for $ 3.00, and OHMYBUTTERYBISCUITS, it may very well have been the best danish I have ever had. The pastry was light and flaky, and the cherry center was just tart enough to perfectly counteract the sweetness of the icing. If I could, I would drive all the way out here from Northwest Reno every day just for more of these danishes. The success of the danish makes me kind of upset about the last item we bought, a mini coconut cream pie for $ 4.00. This one was my mom’s choice, as I don’t particularly like cream pies, and I didn’t actually taste it. Mom said it was… well, awful. It tasted like it was baked several days ago(«almost sour,» she said), and she hated the whipped cream so much she had to scrape it off and put some Reddi-whip on instead. Pie mishap aside, overall Dee’s is a lovely little café, and I will gladly return in the future for lunch and more baked goodies.

A great addition to the sparks industrial area. I stopped in here to grab a quick lunch with my wife. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich and I also ordered the try tip sandwich for my wife. The only size they have available for sandwiches are chips macaroni salad and potato salad. I’m not a big fan of any of those. But I’m always on the lookout for a good non-oniony potato salad and this one filled that bill. For my wife they substituted a regular salad in a perfect small size. The rest of the menu looked like light comfort food. The baked goods looked really good and the only thing I was able to sample was a free macaroon sample, very tasty. Service was fine, if you have an hour lunch this place would be perfect, Half hour lunches you might want to call ahead and get it to go.
