I use South End Hardware when I don’t really feel like driving to Home Depot or I just need something small. Plan on spending a little bit more, than if you went to one of the big box stores. But consider your time and the cost of fuel, if SEH is closer. I’ve been disappointed with their customer service on a couple of occasions and ban myself from going in there. But ultimately, I always return. It’s nice having a mom and pop hardware store close to home.

South End Hardware is a small hardware store packed with those hard to find items that you can never seem to find at Home Depot or Walmart. They have experienced staff that can help you with your project. Plants are from local nurseries so they seem to last longer than what I’ve purchased at Walmart or Home Depot. I’ve shopped here for over twenty years and have yet to be disappointed. It’s my go-to hardware store.

This Ace Hardware has a liquor store and that was the reason for my visit. The liquor store is tiny, and fenced off. You have to ask the clerk to get what you need. I notice the prices was way to high so I didn’t buy anything this time. I would say about $ 3 more than most places. However if you need something quick, it’s a nice place to stop. It’s all hard liquor, sorry no beer.

This is the best place to go to get helpful, correct answers. We rarely have to go back to the store to get another part or whatever to finish the job. That is not often the case with home projects, right? This store has been there forever. It is family owned. We bought a house in the area 15 years ago, and in the first six months, the well water pressure tank died. We were young, and had no experience with that, but one trip to South End, and my husband was able to replace the tank that evening. They seem to have a little of everything. I have bought fence there, garden tools, plants, plumbing pipe and parts, paint, rope, doorknobs, a solar fence charger, and even FEED for livestock. That tells you they’ve been here in this rural community from the start! They have chicks for sale, too, when the time is right. Always someone near the door to help you, and even load feed sacks in the vehicle. Can’t ask for more.
