My experience with Dr Hinton was very upsetting and scary. I was brought to Providence Park hospital on Thanksgiving in 2009 with extreme pain on the right side. A pain that will almost knock you out and you scream lying on the floor. I was almost 5 months pregnant. I was very scared something was wrong with my pregnancy. My husband brought me in and I couldn’t even walk to the door. Sitting in the wheelchair I was barely able to answer simple questions. I was promptly seen by the ER and moved to Labor and Delivery due to my pregnancy. The pain let go but kept coming back in frequent waves. I was in so much pain that I started to vomit. When we asked for a bucket or a basin i was presented with a medical instrument basin that will hold a pencil. Dr Hinton saw me and we discussed the source of the pain. I was worried it might be kidney stones and she said it is impossible since a patient with kidney stones would not be lying there so relaxed. I told her the pain comes in waves and in between I feel ok. She said it is ligament pain and that some women cannot handle pain too well. She was about to discharge me. As soon as she left I had another attack. My family insisted I’d be checked out. I had to wait until the next morning for ultrasounds and to see a surgeon to exclude a ruptured appendix and kidney stones. Dr Hinton still insisted its just ligament pain. She was rude and kind of making fun of me. My husband stayed the night with me since I was getting up every 5 min to go to the bathroom and I was not able to get out of bed by myself. I was in so much pain that Dr Hinton insisted I take morphine even though I am allergic to narcotics. I get convulsions an start to vomit each time I have them. She gave them to me anyways. The smallest dose had the same effect on me and I was even more miserable. It did not help with pain. The next day I had my ultrasound and the pain was manageable. The surgeon said its not my appendix and that the ultrasound was clear but that not all stones will show up. Since I was pregnant he could not perform any other tests and I asked to be released with the assurance it was not the baby. Another week went by with a feeling as if a tiny stone was stuck in my pelvis and eventually I passed one. Even though 2 years passed I still think back at the treatment I received by Dr Hinton and I am so upset each time I had to write a review.
