I love this coffee shop! It’s a great places grab a cup of coffee and a muffin. The prices are the most reasonable in the pines. You can get a latte and a muffin for $ 5.00. Most coffee shops that’s what you would pay for just a coffee. The service is friendly and fast. They have a unique assortment of hot drinks. They are also kid friendly with a few puzzles and durable furniture in and outdoors. I love this place.

55 said this place reminded him of Caffe Driade in CH(no I wish it were Switzerland — Chapel Hill) and I booked the next GreyHound for Southern Pines, grabbed my Bride and JumpBag and we were off! This place should be on your list of Cool, Weird CoffeeShops in NC… Intelligent Conversation will be heard here! Decorated with a old Dylan Album and a Collection of other Artifax, Each Room is Different with a unique theme(rocking Chair Room for example) in this small House converted into a CoffeeHouse… This place puts a down the Street Spankerin’ on Swankerin… Even though both are Lookalotas! You do not have to go to the train Station when you have to «go» at this place, they have Indoor Facilities! We enjoyed the Perfekt Weather on the Large Outdoor Deck and it was nice to hear so much Intelligent conversation unlike the other place all you’ll hear about is the 150 pound Dog almost French Kissing the unsuspecting Coffee Dinker AGAIN! Yes here you are more likely to hear about: Politics, Theology, Finance and Quantum Physics Cookies were Better than the Coffee and the Cookies were Delicious… I would try the Coffee again since they Roast their own, it may be better next time!

Was in town for a wedding and was looking for a great cup of coffee. Look no further! Coffee was great, friendly staff, nice price. Quaint little store in a nice neighborhood. Drop in, you’ll be glad you did!

I tried this place out for the first time and I will be back! They offer a lot of different flavors of coffee, lattes, smoothies, chai, hot tea basically anything you want. I got an iced mocha latte 24 oz with a bagel and cream cheese. The only sad thing to report is that I wish the bagel was a really good, thick, NY style, which it wasn’t. But I know that’s hard to find down here. Atmosphere was cute, little sitting area inside and outside. Service was quick and friendly. I was surprised to see it so busy at 8am on a Wednesday but even so, I got my order fast. I can’t wait to try another flavor next time!

This may be the best coffee shop in the Sandhills. Very quaint and vintage atmosphere. Great location, too! Right near downtown. The coffee is great at a nice price. My preferred drink is an iced mocha, and it’s delicious here. Would recommend over Starbucks any day!

Really good place with very helpful staff. They were willing to take time to talk to you and not just huddle you through the line like some other places. The location is great since it lets us walk along down town and then stop by. The house it is in is very nice and the wife would describe it as «cute». We will definitely be going back

I live close by and though I prefer to shop local, the coffee is delicious, far better than any chain coffee place. They have a large outside seating area and everyone from the baristas to the owner are wonderful.

Went in the morning for snickerdoodle coffee. Also bought some beans to take home. Prices were great.

Great little coffee house. I like the layout and feel of the place, makes it very comfortable to sit and relax or chat with friends. Good cup of espresso, my favorite. Also got a proper macchiato, always nice to find. Not sure if the morning coffee crowd is different these days but have noticed a lot of young kids in the morning. Not offensive, just a note.

I am utterly and thoroughly impressed by this coffee shop find. Having an early morning trip I was in dire need of a coffee and Unilocaled the nearest Starbucks. What came up was the nearby Starbucks and the Java Bean Plantation. Based on the high rating I decided to read the Unilocal reviews. These reviewers weren’t lying, this place is outstanding. The directions took me to a side street in a residential type neighborhood. At the corner is a beautiful old house converted into a coffee shop with tables outside. Walking in I was amazed by the quaintness of the set up and the décor. The perfect place to relax and enjoy a cup of delicious coffee. This is where the flavor comes in. Outstanding. Better than any coffee shop I have been to in the U.S. Add to that the great customer service and you have the perfect morning coffee stop. This place is an hour away from us, but I will make it a point to make it out there repeatedly.

The great thing about southern pines is that every coffee shop is better than Starbucks. Java Bean has some great seasonal expresso drinks and their normal drip coffee is well sourced and generally organic friendly. They have some great muffins too, besides that their food selection is limited.

Skip Starbucks and come to the Java Bean Plantation. The coffee is some of the best that I’ve ever had, and my wife says that the soy latte is very good. The atmosphere is comfortable and the wifi works well. Add easy free parking along the street to the mix and you couldn’t want more from an independent coffee shop. Highly recommended! Update April 30, 2016: Good coffee but crappy wifi access. If you are looking for a place to hang out online, go someplace else. I asked the girl working here about the wifi problems, and she said that their router only accepts about five connections. I suggested that it is time to get a new router and she was crabby to me. This is the last time we’ll be here!

Among the four coffee shops in Southern Pines, this place has the best coffee. They roast their own beans and also have them for sale. The drink menu is extensive, to include teas, iced drinks, flavored hot drinks, and they also have munchies like biscotti, muffins, and bagels. The staff are efficient and friendly. Enjoy a nice day out on the patio or sit inside in one of the three rooms, two of which have lots of natural light. The music is diverse and excellent. Free Wi-Fi(not fast, but adequate for general browsing). This is where all the mover-and-shaker locals go and where important decisions are made! Nice chill atmosphere. They also have a bike rack!

espresso drinks really have KICK, i had a double soy latte around nine in the morning and was zooming around all day. the regulare coffee is good to, but that chick making the specialty knows how to make them extra good! i only wish they had mugs and plates if you are eating or drinking in house, but you can bring ur own mug and get a discount!
