The Sweet Boutique

We don’t really have that many «bakeries» to choose from in Southaven that make something other than cake and cupcakes. So, when I developed a severe sweet tooth, I decided to give this place a try.
Supposedly, they have a famous «whoopie pie» that resembles 2 cookies sandwiched together with creamy goo in the center. I went on a Tuesday, which the lady working behind the counter (I assume owner) told me was their «slow day». So, the selection of sweets left alot to be desired. I settled with 2 of these whoopie pies and headed out the door. I should have just ordered 1, because these things were HUGE!
The cookie part was really delicious, but I’ll have to be painfully honest – the triple-​stuff buttercream center could have been reduced by at least ½ and it would have been better imho. As a matter of fact, I raked off ½ of it before I ate it and ate the cookie separated from each other.
I would visit this boutique again providing they had more of a selection of sweets.

Sweet Boutique is a true hidden gem in Southaven that deserves appreciation by a larger audience. They have everything from whoopie pies, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and other dessert treats.
What’s a whoopie pie, you ask? Imagine two delicious cookies, whether they be sugar cookies or chocolate chip. Now make a sandwich with delicious butter cream in the middle. Then forget all that and just go buy one, because they are far more delectable than they sound. Also of particular interest is their Hello Dollies. These are as good as the ones my mom used to make, which is as high praise as I can muster.
Sweet Boutique can’t compete with the sheer number of options that bakeries like Muddy’s have to offer, but what they do, they do extremely well. This place is well worth the drive.
